Karen what an awesome anniversary. Congrats

Had a very bittersweet conversation with my 81yo mother yesterday. She lives up North and has dementia/alzheimers. She knew me at least but the conversation wasn't coherent. Hard for me to deal with b/c she's a doctor. We are planning a car trip up with the kids to visit in April. I still have nerve pain and don't do well in the car for more than a few hours. We will be taking a full week and visiting National parks etc along the way.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to really up my fitness for the trip. At the gym feeding the Fitbit and doing weight reps while on the treadmill. I'm up to 4lb weights.

    What great news, Decision!

Scottie, my dad descended into dementia at the end of his life. He had been the most vital, interesting, interested person all his life, so I know how hard that is to be part of.

Sunshine, an IT friend like patoo is worth her weight in gold!

    Karen, congrats on the milestone!

Bad at, you are a rock star! Doing great and such an inspiration!

Decisions, great news on the path report. Look forward to you dancing circles around the rest of us.

Patoo, sounds like you are quite the handy friend! Looking forward to sharing your adventures with mysunshine.

Scottiesmom, my heart goes out to you. My mother had early onset Alzheimer's and I don't think people really understand how brutal it can be for the family unless they have been thru it. Hugs!

    Ruth, waving back!

Wonderland, can't wait to see the Carolina Panthers win this weekend!!

Ok, guess I should post my exercise huh? Bootcamp Monday, Tuesday and tonight. Took yesterday off as it was a long day at work and nasty weather so needed the curling up in jammies day.

    Happy Friday everyone!

Hi all! Spent the week with my 92 year old dad at his retirement village. Due to the large size of the place and stuff I had to dofor and with him fitbit tells me I got in 110 active minutes so far this week. Back home, exhausted and will sleep well!

He still goes to the gym, has lower BP than me and has always inspired me.

Sorry to be MIA and just catching up. Buried with work. Finances are flourishing, but a bit off the exercise wagon. Have been exercising every day, but haven't been able to take time out to ski, cycle etc. I noticed a rough patch on my butt the other day and took a good look.

    What did I find there......VELCRO!!!!

No wonder it's been difficult to get out of my office chair.

The major crunch should be over in about 10 days. Hope to get out skiing this weekend regardless.

Think I am still buff enough for the Cupid's Undie Run on the 20th. Promise pix. - Claire

Decision - hooray on the great path report!! Patoo - I think you have a second career as The Cable Gal! Reader - great that your dad does so well. I'm always inspired by the older folks at our Leisure World fitness center - the treadmills, ellipticals, and recumbent bikes are well used, as are all the weight machines. They may be slower than they used to be, but there in there doing a good workout. It's really great to see. Claire - LOL on the velcro butt!

Half hour run on the dreadmill after work yesterday. C'mon spring!!!! I really hate running inside.

Decision, pleased for you and BAU you are so remarkable. Karen, well done you and Odie, good to see ya. Mary, what a amazing, magical holiday for you and darling husband, something you both so deserve after are the life changes that have come your way. Lovely photo and St. Lucia is on my bucket list. Nassau is as far as I've gotten in the Caribbean and thank for the kind comments. Yesterday, darling husband and I tootled into London on the high speed train to St. Pancras to make our way to Hammersmith to have lunch at the River Cafe. Sunday is our 18th wedding anniversary and we usually celebrate at a foodie type restaurant. We have a River Cafe cookbook so we've wanted to go to River Cafe for sometime. Food was excellent but not blow your socks off fantastic. T'was a lovely sunny afternoon with a clear view of the Thames and enjoyed the walk to & from Hammersmith tube.

Freestyle step at the gym this morning.

Kindergarten - can ya hear me now. Get out there girl! Michael, those voices always get into your ear though I just had to tweak Kindergarten's so she jumps back on track.

Don't let mysunshine make you think I did anything special. She is very cautious whereas I tend to just push buttons (with my fingers and toes crossed) until something works!

4-mile walk with Leslie Sansone this morning. Resting before Bone Builders class this afternoon (mysunshine may join my sister and I).

    Later friends.

Today is my "rest" day but thought I'd check in. I'm resting, sort of, because my heel kind of hurts and I'm tired from the week. So best to give walking a rest as that's my favorite. So today I "declutter and sculpt".

Thank you for the kind words about dad. He's also had two different cancers but just keeps on being active. (Seven years out from the last).

    Have a happy weekend everyone!!

    Happy anniversary Lilacblue!

Super frustrating day at work today so I hit the gym after work for a walk/run workout or was it a stomp/run workout??? LOL Felt much better after so clearly exercise destresses me.

Looking forward to a weekend full of family, exercise and some well needed downtime.

Great news, DF! Congrats, LB on 18 years and toasting to many more years of togetherness (good excuse for me to open a bottle of wine now :)). Reader, your dad IS inspiring! My dad is 95 and since we had him start doing physical therapy 3 times a week a year ago I do notice his cognitive abilities improving. He has dementia due to a stroke suffered many years ago. Mary, great photo from a wonderful vacation!

Thanks all for the well-wishes. I did a lot of decluttering yesterday, but in front of the computer as I was trying to clean up and organize my digital space. Got 10,000 running steps around the apartment though. I feel a little silly but we have no space for a dreadmill. Good thing our neighbors are away so they didn't have to hear the pounding.

hi all and welcome michaellhendersonn, to BCO and this thread. Thx for making us your first post!

DF, great news and LB, happy anniversary!

    Hello everyone!

    DF- Great news!

    Ruth-Love the picture!

Patio-You and Mysunshine must have lots of fun together. It sounds like you compliment one another

Oldie-Hopefully the weekend will be relaxing for you and relief from your stresses

Reader- Sometimes you need that rest day! There are times where the rest makes all the aches go away.

Heidihill-Good for you on the de Cluttering! Decluttering is something I need to do. The intention is always there, but the completion is often not.

Badger-Your fan pizza party looks like fun. Everyone is probably getting ready for this Sunday.

I had a busy week at work and exercise. It was National Counselors Week, so lots of celebrating. I am an Elementary School Counselor at a terrific school. They gave me candies, sentiments, cheesecake, flowers and gift cards. Additionally I went to a Counseling Conference for 2 days. I feel recharged! Everyday I have hit the gym or the walking trail. My Fitbit says that I have don 79k steps so far this week.Today my DD is competing with her drill team, so I will be there cheering them on.

So happy for Decisions and Karen!

I've been continuing to walk between 2.5 and 5 miles a day, and work on OT on my L arm. I gotta say, getting back into shape after surgery during a FL winter is a lot easier than during a FL summer (had my MX in July and while my sweet husband got me a gym membership, if was tough not being able to exercise outside without dying of the heat!!!)

2/6- lovely restorative yoga class for an hour today. Lately, it is all about the yoga.

The fellow that taught the "Star Wars" yoga taught today. He is working on a "Super Heros" yoga class next.

I didn't do any walking for a couple of days but I did make myself do weights and planks. Trying to do more upper body weights in hopes of preserving bone mass, especially since I don't do any running in the icy, slippery winter. I got encouraged by my stable DEXA scan so I want to maintain and not fall into that osteoporosis if possible.

Today I took the dog for a 15 minute walk as soon as I woke up, then my husband and I walked for an hour and 20 minutes to a lake, around the lake and back home. I'll need two aspirin before bed for sure, but feel great otherwise.

BAUNames, I loved what your husband said. That makes a girl feel good, doesn't it!

Odie, exercise is definitely my stress reliever. I always joke its the only thing I can do, we can't drink, we can't pig out. All I have is exercise. Bad work day - a little running in my walking gets that bad energy out. If I"m sad, I'll just walk until I feel better.

Badger, fun day at work - maybe too much green and gold for my taste.

I did 6k on my rowing erg machine today. And I have been doing some myofascial release therapy which is helping my joint pain immensely! I set a new goal for myself today......to do a 1/2 rowing marathon (21,087 meters) before we get back on the water. Not sure who to vote for in the Super Bowl...my daughter and her hubby live in North Carolina, but DH wants Old Man Favre to win one more. Keep on keepin' on!

Slept till almost noon today, then got out to fill some scripts and get Dh and ds haircuts. Then home for a long nap.

Had a choice between finally going to the Star Wars movie or going to gym tonight. Sent the kid's to the movie and I'm at the gym feeding the Fitbit. Dh and I are going to be in the .000001 percent who see that movie for the first time on Blue Ray.

My pre-BC self would have gone to the theater and had a big bucket of popcorn. Thanks for the inspiration ladies.

Scottie Im going to be that 0.00 that doesn't see it and I'm probably the 0.00 that doesn't care about the Super Bowl either although I do like the ads and the half time show!!! Looking good Badger, hope the move goes smoothly. Happy Anniversary LB.

This morning went to Body Combat and a new class called Treat while you Train, although itshould be called Torture while you train, it's these little balls that you lay on and roll OMG it hurts like heck as it gets right into the deep tissue and I did a lot of laughing as the balls kept shooting out from underneath me

Bummed....lost my Fitbit Flex yesterday....Noticed in the afternoon but not sure when it fell off my wrist. Was all over yesterday...Took Mom to her pcp, to the eye glass store, out to lunch, then I went to two different grocery stores. Feel lost without it! I've been using a pedometer for several years, so not sure what I want to do. A friend said to write Fitbit. I got my at BBB in June when it was on sale then saved another 20% so paid only $60 some dollars.

    Happy Anniversary, Lilac!

Odie & TwoHobbies, I used to have a HORRIBLE supervisor; I was taking a Kick Boxing class at the time & it really improved the strength of my kicks and jabs to visualize the standing right in front of me!

Sunshine and Patoo......'double trouble' or 'double the pleasure, double the fun'?

    Great picture, badger!

Thank you for being a school counselor, Anne. It's such an important job! One of my best friends was a counselor at my school (we started and retired the same years, which is pretty cool) and now her daughter, who followed in her mother's footsteps, has her old job, which is pretty cool too. How did the drill team competition go? (I was a Pom Pon coach many years, so I still critique the half-time entertainment when I am at a sports event.)

Cheryl, a class called 'Treat' while you train should involve FOOD!

I scrapped old dried glue that had held a carpet in place off a floor for about 6 hours (hard work!!!!!!) and did 45 minutes on the treadmill.

My sister lives in North Carolina so I suppose I should be for the Panthers. I just hope it is an interesting game.....otherwise I will turn it to Downton Abbey!

Power walked 3.5 miles in the pouring rain today, all while hauling around my big steroid belly. I was super wired. Dex is a weird medication.

I named the steroid belly Dexter, btw.

I got Dex during my original AC, but the ongoing nausea cancelled out the hunger. Not this time. I am ashamed to admit that I thought that women who gained weight on chemo were just making excuses. Now I'm literally eating those words. With a side of BBQ sauce

I really feel terrible about not thanking all of you for the wonderful words of support after my negative path report. I have made three 450 mile round trips in the past three weeks for clinic evals, lumpectomy and bi-lateral breast reduction and lift, and post ops. I got back home today. As usual the phone was ringing off the hook with my needing to make decisions. My arm is getting too tired to write. Next chapter soon.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. What a special group of people you are. There will be no lying on the couch eating bon bons and chocolate truffles after these babies heal. Whatever it takes, my cancer surgeon says I need to be on the move EVERY DAY.
