Girls Night Out!

-
lovely ladies, lovely time! For the ladies who walked on the beach, just saw a commercial for local news - those red crustaceans all over the beach were tuna crabs. Not just Oceanside area but further north too.
I think I've been convinced to start posting to this thread (small baby steps for me) and getting back to BCO. I admire all you dedicated women, hoping it rubs off...
-
2nd, I hope you do, if you do,I will too.
-
Hooray, Tomboy and 2ndtime around!!! I need to do more exercise!!! Today is the day!!
-
I haven't checked in here in quite some time. I fell out of the exercise habits for a good couple of weeks and am just now getting back on track! We're heading out of town tomorrow for a few days but I hope to get back to this thread more regularly once we're home again.
-
It looks like the California trip was a success and you got your exercise in. Nice pictures. Beautiful sunset pic too!
Reporting in a few days worth. Wednesday 31 minute walk. Thursday 28. Friday 40minutes. Trying to get some exercise in as our busy time slows down.
-
Thursday Hiked all day at a low intensity for work..

Yes, I'm back home and back to BCo. Why am I still up at 3:15am - because the body has to get back to east coast time. Just now starting to feel it's time to go to bed! Was a great trip. Had so much fun amidst lots of laughter. Really great to meet physically and spend time with so many friends here on BCo. I see the 'voices' got to TomBoy and Maddy! This meet-up also tends to get me back posting more regularly although it may not be as 'regular' until I am no longer homeless and have some roots (mid-August).
Night sculpted friends.

hi all and welcome the newbies! We had a GREAT time in CA. It was lovely to meet so many sisters in person and group chat with Blondie (have a wonderful time in FL!). Got home around 11 pm WI time and patoo I couldn't get to sleep either since my body is still on west coast time. Pedometer says 41.6 miles walked during the trip and I believe it. Spent an hour this morning deadheading flowers (Sweet did your DH remember?) and enjoying a light rain. Nisa and Beppy thanks for the delicious food and everyone, thanks for the pleasure of your company. ♥ to all
-
75 minutes of mowing, 20 minute dog walk. I decided that was enough for today but I'm looking out the window at the salvia I also need to deadhead. Maybe tomorrow.
-
yes, indeed!! So wonderful to see all the ladies in California!! You are all wonderful ladies here on this thread!! One of these days, we will all be able to get together!!
Deb! Thank you so much for hosting all of!! You are a gem
-

It was wonderful to have lunch with our San Diego ladies and glad you've joined us bonnid. Tomboy, PoppyK it was wonderful to get to know you and so,lovely to FaceTime with you Blondie.
Back to the exercise grind today, went to Body Combat class this morning and am now unpacking and doing laundry and finally activated my Silver Sneakers card at the gym, yay. -
Hello All!
I had quite an adventure getting home:
* During my flight to Denver, my phone, for some mysterious reason, had re-set itself to Central Time; so when I landed I thought I had only 15 minutes to catch my next flight! This led to a high speed sprint across the entire airport (in my haste, I tried to run the wrong way on one of the moving walk-ways....which is pretty funny since the only injury was to my pride!). I zoomed to the check-in line only to be told that my flight did not leave for another hour.......
* once on board, we had a 30 minute delay for mechanical repairs (yikes).
* Severe thunderstorms had developed over my final destination, so after two aborted descents (shake, rattle, and roll), we circled the airport for 1 1/2 hours before we finally landed (double yikes). So my 11 pm arrival became 1 am.
* I am just catching up with things around here today. No exercise and I don't even care!
What a GREAT trip!!!! Lots of yummy food, great people, great conversation, laughter, beautiful scenery, and movement. What could be more fun!!!!
-
I just posted some pictures on the mods How many get-togethers have happened with BCO members? thread.
-
Whew! Sounds like the adventure continued, Ruth! Glad you got home safe and sound. I barely moved yesterday, and am taking it pretty easy today. Fertilizing plants, walked up and down the isles of my arts/crafts store, chores at home, that was enough! I will start doing my walking again tomorrow, hopefully, but I really need to join a gym for motivation. I am in awe of your tight little body, Ruth.
-
Hi,
I am new here and 4 weeks post op lumpectomy. I went to a 50 minute spin class this morning! Was nice to see my gym friends again!
Cheers,
~Midgie

Hello everyone. I'm visiting this thread after "being carried to the gym" by your example where I did 5k on treadmill and some exercises on other machines. Came home to learn my friend C passed away. She was a fun, strong, smart woman from Germany with a fabulous sense of humor. Leaves behind a child, husband and heartbroken friends. I hate cancer!
Ruth - what an adventure for you to get home. Glad you all made it back safely and are back on BCO.
Hugs, Nisa
-
Welcome, Midgie!! It's great to do 'normal' things, isn't it?!
Nisa, I am so very sorry about your friend.
-
I

Relay For Life last night. Did a sweaty five mile run in my survivor shirt this morning.
littleblue, your work sounds fun! What do you do?
Glad CA ladies are home safe and sound. Thanks for sharing the pics!
-
My friend, Janel, and I at Relay For Life. Janel is a 16 year survivor. She is my muse!

-
Ruth, wow, glad you are home safe and sound!!! TomBoy, you own an arts/crafts store? I would love to visit!!
Took a good walk today and ran after my granddaughter at the park! I need a lot of work, but you all give me inspiration !! All you California girls look wonderful
-
Looking good, meljo!
-
It looks like the trip was a huge success!
Welcome, Midgie, this is a great group.
Nisa,so sorry for your loss.
Meljo-I have the same shirt. Long term survivors give me such hope!
I ordered my new bike today. It comes in next week and I am hoping my hip and quad muscle behave so I can start riding again soon.
My 23 year old DD just texted from a music festival in Delaware that they were evacuated back to their campsites due to severe weather threats. Forecasting 60 mph winds with lightning storms. I am hoping they ditch the tent and sleep in the car. This mama is not going to sleep well tonight...
-
6143 steps
2.68 miles
12 sets of steps
My numbers are pathetic even when I go to the gym. I am making progress though.
-
Nothing is pathetic as long as you are making progress!! Keep on keeping on, Dunes!
-
This is from the California Surf Museum in Oceanside. Bethany Hamilton was a young surfer whose whole arm was bitten off by a shark. A pretty good motto for us all!

-
((Nisa)) so sorry about your friend C.
Ruth, what an ordeal, glad you got home safe. Ginger, hope your DD is OK.
Cheryl, thanks so much for driving us around, you are a godsend in CA traffic.
dunes, not pathetic - 6143 steps is great! [edit to add, 2,000 steps is approx. 1 mile so you did ~ 3 miles] I started with a 20-step walk to the mailbox and back to the couch. Kept track here (see sig line) and now am over 5,200 miles. I've gotten stronger over time and can now walk far. I used to feel intimidated by the feats of exercise posted here but all movement counts so I'm here to welcome anyone who doesn't feel fit enough to post here. That said, I worked a wedding tonight and logged 8,400 steps (4.2 miles) OMG my dogs are barking.
-
Yesterday was day 1 post DD taxol #2..made it for a 3 mile jog and a stroll thru the farmers market!
Meljo614, I'm an archeologist 😊
-
Not pathetic at all, Dunesleeper. Doing good!
Welcome, Midgie and good to see you Nissa.
We got a new pump so we can pump up our bike tires, so today was a 1 hour, 25 minute bike ride along the river. I so enjoyed it now that my tires are properly inflated! We have a lot of great bike trails in our county, although some of the underpasses that go under the roads are flooded, so we had to be a little creative getting around those. We had a marvelous day and then filled up on sushi and bubble tea for an early dinner.
Ginger, I hope you'll be able to ride when your bike comes!
