32 miles of touring rose gardens and exploring Seattle neighborhoods with my old cycling buddy Jim. The most glorious roses ever. Good eats along the way. I had a salmon and mushroom fettuccini from a food truck in Fremont market. Plus lavender-chocolate macaroons at the bakery stop. Life is good! - Claire

Now that I have my Avon order handled and it looks like its gonna rain here, I'll be busy with my housework

Thanks, all, for the kind words, prayers, and cyber hugs. I spoke to a friend who experienced edema in her breast many months after surgery and she said hers occurred after her trip to Belgium. Something about flying (being at altitude). Mine started shortly after my trip to Mexico so I'm hoping that is all it is. She said hers resolved over the course of a couple months. Hoping so--pretty lopsided right now :-( MRI tomorrow. Stay tuned...
Sweet, keeping you in my prayers. I had some spotting last year and had to do the whole biopsy thing (ouch!). Mine turned out to be nothing. Praying yours will too!
badger, open those dresses!!

Saturday I ran 3.2 miles before going on a glorious motorcycle ride with DH and some friends. After riding, we got together and had a craft beer tasting of sorts. Tried several interesting ports and stouts and then went back to my belgian blondes which is more in my wheelhouse. Slept like a baby. Yesterday exercise entailed helping my son move home. Lots of stairs, packing, hauling boxes, etc. 13,000 steps with no formal exercise.
Happy Monday All!

Yoga, dog walking, will go to Zumba, followed by another dog walk.
-
Walked at lunch about a mile. Back on the wagon!
Martha
-
Walked 30 minutes around the lake today, early, in advance of predicted storms. I saw 4 turtles, one beautiful large gray egret, and many geese and babies
-
Cough still hanging on but not too bad. Rested most of Saturday then went to a lovely wedding only trouble was it was a 3 hour drive there because of traffic thank goodness drive home was only half that time, then yesterday did Body Pump and rested in the afternoon and tonight did Body Combat gotta get myself well for the vacation, woohooooooo.
-
Ok time to stop being a weinie...one lap around the pond in full sun gear. Maybe 3/4 mile? My body is deteriorating on chemo and I don't like it!
-
It will bounce back once you are done & everything you are doing now will help make the process quicker; you will have a base to build on.
-
Hang in there, Littleblue!! Congratulations on doing the lap around the pond!! You will bounce back once the Chemo is done, Promise!!! Keep on doing what you are doing!
Hope you keep feeling better, Cheryl!!!
-
Haven't posted in a few days but continuing the exercise program. And I do check in more often than I post. Averaging about 8-11K steps a day. Yay! Yoga -- love it. Not back to any formal exercise just walking and treadmill. Fatigue is improving!
-
My Cardio Sculpt teacher had a sick kids so they slapped in a Hip Hop Cardio DVD. Did that, came home & did some toning & walked the dog.....dogs are a lot of work!!!
-
Thanks for the encouragement you guys! It really helps!
-
Two 15-20 minute walks with a coworker today and vacuumed out my car.
Endometrial biopsy came back normal, thank goodness, but ultrasound shows thickening of the endometrium ( as well as the fibroids we already knew about). I see my doctor on Friday to talk about test results, lab work and what's next. At the least I'm sure she'll want to do a hysteroscopy to take a look inside.
Starting to think about packing for California Dreaming 2015!!!
-
Love the bear photo Jazzy. Glad you are feeling better Cheryl.
Busy weekend with lots of exercise. Saturday I was running errands preparing for vacation next week. On Sunday, I helped move my MIL which included lots of walking and lugging boxes. Yesterday was bootcamp and tonight was household chores. Cleaned the pool, the bathrooms and started laundry. This time next week, I will be on a cruise ship heading to the Bahamas.
-
hi ladies,
I am doing my exercise each am, before work. Getting stronger and more rom in bad arm. Yoga feels great! The resistance bands have made all the difference in developing and strengthening my chest and arm muscles--- I'm so grateful for my wonderful lymphedema therapist.
-
Sweet, sounds like you need a vacation!
Odie, the masters of the dog I'm babysitting are on a cruise in the Bahamas right now!
-
LB hope your filming went well. Odie how exciting you'll love the Bahamas. Sweet, see you Saturday. Bippy a good therapist can really help, glad yours is making a difference.
Body Pump followed by Body Jam tonight, we all then went out to dinner to say farewell to two of our instructors one is returning to Australia and the other to Tennessee and our very pregnant instructor came to join us it was a very fun evening now Ineed to start thinking about what to pack for my vacation, woohooooo.....
-
Cheryl, filming is on the 23rd yet got reminder from LM. Bippy, working on resistance is what brought me back and it's under rated by most gym rats.
Shadowed BB yesterday and taught from track 6 (core) to 10. I've had the trots since last Thursday night and can't seem to shake it. There is something going around and I've not experienced it for this long. Oh well, life goes on and I'm off to course for the day, first aid at work, something I need to have.
You are doing great Littleblue..hang in there!
-
LB for some reason I though the filming was yesterday, so now you've got lots of practice time but I'll bet you don't need it remember to replace your electrolytes I am speaking from experience as I had that bug. Last night at dinner one of the girls had a bite of food that 'went down the wrong way' and another said at least you're at a perfect table at least 7 people can do the Heimlich - all gym employes!!!!
-
Lisa, such good news on the biopsy!! Looking forward to seeing you again in Oceanside!!!
Went to the gym this morning, feeling good!!!
-
I found my fitbit. Yesterday, I did about 2500 steps, which was just a little over a mile, and 12 stairs. The only time I have felt my vibrate was while I was on vacation, walking around Salzburg and Vienna, and Budapest and a few other places. It messed me up pretty badly too. I had to sleep through a couple of times where we could have gone out exploring on our own. Bummer.
-
Littleblue, hang in there. You are not a weinie; you're a warrior! You are working out harder than a whole lot of 100% healthy people who aren't battling a life-threatening disease. We are tough chicks who refuse to curl up in a ball and wallow in self-pity (which can be pretty tempting at times). This, too, shall pass!
Sweet, such good news! Had my MRI this morning. Hoping to get the results soon.
Yesterday I ran with my dog in the jogging stroller. All of the sudden the sky turned black, wind picked up, and temp dropped about ten degrees. It was clear that something major was coming. Had to go off road and run through a field to get home quicker. Needless to say, quite the workout with the darn dog and stroller in tow. We made it home just in time to beat the torrential downpour!
-

Last walking picture before California. Zumba tonight.
* edited to notethat I have been having computer problems & find I can no longer shrink down pictures.

Hi Bippy
Resistance bands are really a great tool, very versatile, and very value for money!
This evening, I went to 2 supermarkets (could not find all I needed in the 1st one) and walked back with 2 bags and a rucksack full of vegs! Making up for yesterday evening when I was too tired to go to my 8pm step class (have to get up at 5am because of a long commute + was coming down with a cold). Hope to do some cycling this weekend: took a fall last weekend so definitely need the practice!
Best wishes to all.
-
hi all and welcome Bippy! Sweet, great news on bx! Odie, have a great time in Bahamas!
Meljo, that storm went north of us but (from afar) we enjoyed the lightning show in the clouds.
It's 86 and humid, too hot for me to enjoy a walk outside but will go once the sun goes down.
Logged 5.65 miles walked since last post. Tonight I'm laying out all the clothes I want to take on vacay, then tomorrow night will cull & pack. Flight early Sat so staying over with mom Fri night. Will save morning drive time but that's one less night to futz around with suitcases. Really, that's not such a bad thing. When it comes to packing, I dither, so had better not tarry here! ♥
-
Two 20 minute walks today and spent about an hour drenched in liquid awesome while I dismantled our old gazebo
-
2335 steps
1,02 miles
1483 calories
8 sets of steps
-
There is something wrong with my Fitbit. It said that I had 27,000 points at 9:00 in the morning, and has steadily increased since then (without a great deal of movement from me!). I'm getting all these notices of 'mountain climber' 'Olympic Champion' etc. badges. Yikes!!! Hopefully it will reset itself tomorrow....either that or they will be sending a paramedic out to check on me!
