Rhody-Thanks for the beach pic; what a cutie!
It was -12 degrees here this morning but I got in 45 min on the treadmill. Brrr...
-
Did Zumba tonight after taking a week off, my back was sore from shoveling snow.
-
Thanks for the beach photo Rhody. What a pretty puppy girl you have.
Twohobbies, I am set to take a 5 day Royal Caribbean cruise with stops in Cocobay and Nassau. This will be my second cruise as I took a Carnival 7 day cruise to St. Thomas, Nassau and St. Martin in 2010 and will be comparing the cruise lines.
Exercise today was bootcamp again. Will have to do something different tomorrow as my thighs are on fire....LOL -
Love the beach picture!
Here are the Wednesday Walking Women walking around the indoor track at the local high school. I am going to college basketball playoff games tonight & subbing the next two days so will have to exercise on my own....boring!
-
Rhody, what a satisfied smile! So right Twohobbies, lots to eat and no cooking.
Vibe boxing and body balance this morning.
-
The last two days I walked to and from my rads appointments, which is about 1.2 miles each day. I'll do something today, too - aiming for a 30-minute walk outside. It's nice out (which is relative, as it's probably always nice out here compared to what so many of you are dealing with this winter!).
Ruth, thanks for reaching out to me about the gathering in San Diego/Oceanside. With my work schedule, I don't yet it if I can do it or not, but I'd like to try.

-
Hello All. I had a gentle yoga session today and walked 1.5 miles on the treadmill. I head to Arizona next week for a work conference and hope to do some outside walking while there. Being outside for more than a few minutes sounds wonderful! We are to get down to 10-15 below zero tonight!
-
I am am new to this thread. I am 6 weeks out from PFC and 2.5 weeks into. 5 week Rad tx plan. I searched this site for exercise commitments and found this thread. My goal is to improve my fitness and be optimistic that I will be able to get back to a good fitness level after all the BC tx. I need to take it slow and stay consistent and committed and have patience.
-
Hi lady! So glad to see you here. Congratulates on finishing chemo and being half way through rads!!! Sounds like you have a great plan in place.
Hello All. We are expecting 4 to 7 inches of snow overnight. Luckily I was able to go to the park late today to fast walk/run before it started falling. Be safe everyone in the snow path.
-
Wonderland, 4-7 inches in NC - Wow! We are only expecting less than an inch - thankful for that.
Welcome ladyb1234. This is a great thread. Take it easy and do what you can without overdoing. You will get there. Be warned, however, that once you get into a routine and get stronger and stronger and able to do more the 'Voices' come out and then you will not have an excuse. We encourage each other, regardless of how much (or in my case, how little) you do as long as you do something, if only to walk down to the mailbox or to the next driveway, or whatever.
30 mins on treadmill but then was on phone with a friend for 1-1/2 hours so walked back and forth from LR to kitchen for almost the entire time. Too bad I didn't have my fitbit on so can't say how many steps but it was lots.
Night sculpted friends.
-
wow, that is a lot of snow for NC; be safe!
I think we get to miss this latest storm but it is going to get cold again...
I did 45 min on the treadmill this morning.
-
Wonderland, my sister's dog is in Husky Heaven with all the snow you are getting. The only happy creature in North Carolina at the moment!
Welcome ladyb, you have landed in the perfect spot! It's 9:45pm and it's already -8......how low can you go?

-
Hi Angie (ladyb)! Nice to see you here. (Angie and I are in the same monthly chemo group here.)
I walked a mile+ today with a friend, from the ballet studio to Starbucks and back again.
-

My North Carolina sister's dog enjoying the unusually snowy weather!
-
Ruth: Love the picture! She looks so content sitting on the snow.
-
She doesn't even want to come inside during the winter, but in the summer you will find her in the house draped over the air-conditioner vent!
-
Love all the puppy pics!
I went to boot camp at the gym tonight.
The CA trip sounds like fun. I'm in LAand would love to meet up with the group while you're here.
-
won't be able to go to my livestrong class at the Y tomorrow because I am having a bone scan and an eye exam to see if they'll remove some cysts I have on my eyelids.
Then Friday I'll be leaving to Cancun to visit my dad who's I'll so I won't be back in the gym until March 11
I do a lot more walking in Mexico than I do here so that would have to be it while am away
-
Welcome ladyb, slow and steady and before you know it you'll be back to form. Homer that is brrrrr cold so I'm sure you're looking forward to AZ. Rhoddy yourbaby is beautiful. Aurora (HUG) hope all is well with both you and your Dad. Stay dry and warm Wonderland.
Did Body Jam last night and Sh'bam today, I'm just a dancing fool
-
Aurora, keeping fingers crossed for you and hope your dad feels better soon.Another dancing fool here. Body Jam last night and salsa today.
-
Just checking in - between the snow and packing for the move I've really fallen off the formal exercise bandwagon. Although I have gotten in a lot of Shovel N Sculpt and Pack N Sculpt lately. We start moving on Sunday, so hopefully after a week or so I can get back into a routine. But just in the last few days my FIL has stopped eating, so unless things improve, it looks like we may be making a cross country trip in the near future.
On a happier note, I would highly encourage anyone who is able to make the California trip this summer to go for it. I've been on two of the trips - DC, when several brave ladies camped in my basement, and last year for the San Francisco portion of the California Dreamin' trip. It's a great opportunity to get away and just have fun. So is this year's trip being called California Dreamin' II?
-
Welcome ladyb! Monday and Tuesday I did circuit training and 45 minutes of Zumba today. I am going to try to incorporate some planks and crunches into my evening during the TV commercial breaks. I'll let you know how that goes - the hardest part will be getting out of this darn recliner!
-
Ran from the office to rads and then did another three miles
-
Cold here too. Drove in snow for 2 1/2 hours this morning to get downtown. Luckily it cleared off and is sunny but very cold. I walked 25 minutes and then did shovel and sculpt for 15 and that's all I could stand. Arizona, another cruise, Cancun, California Dreamin II, they all sound good today!
-
Yay, LARock - look forward to seeing you in June. Don't forget, we have plenty of room if you want to hang with us at Oceanside.
Water main break closed our office today so went to gym early and worked out for an hour and half and then came home but they found me anyway and have put in about 7 hours. Going in tomorrow to get some rest!
-
Welcome, ladyb! Sorry you have to be here but glad to have you! Don't overdo it yet since you are still fresh out of surgery. I tried to do too much after my BMX and had all kinds of problems with seromas, etc.
I went to my rowing class last night, and we have a new coach who must think that we want to be professional athletes! What a workout on the rowing machines! Did an hour of erging with periodic bursts where we had to go "all out." Did that 10 times! The plus side was that she let us each pick a song to play for a one-minute burst. It was funny, we are all in our 50's-early 60's so she didn't know some of the songs we picked. But she liked them for power rowing and added them to her own playlist! Tonight I came home and did some planks and then some yoga before dinner. I am liking yoga more and more for the flexibility it's giving me (except my knee) and the peace it gives my psyche.
Keep up the good work ladies, at whatever pace you can do. I was thinking last night at rowing that one year ago I was heading into my last chemo treatment and it seemed like it was all I could do to climb a flight of stairs.

hi all and welcome ladyb. California will be GREAT FUN this summer!
TwoHobies, LOL on the '95 Vegas road trip, ya got me beat hands down! I see the lake effect snow hit a broad swath, did you get a lot? We were spared today but yesterday was a different story. Took 2 hours to get home, but that's OK, considering the close call on a slippery road. Driving home from work at maybe 50 mph in a patient line of cars, this guy in a big macho truck (with CA plates) sped past us all then tried to whip into the R lane. Of course he started fishtailing all over the road. Narrowly missed several cars, mine included, then spun out and wound up in the ditch. Dude, WTH, you can't drive that way here in the winter!

Martha & Ruth, thanks for the happy dog pix - one at the beach and one in the snow.
Cheryl, owie on the toe but I know you well and it may slow you down but won't stop you.
Mary, sorry to hear about FIL ((hugs )) to DH. Good luck with the move. (I hate moving.)
Been down with a cold so no exercise past few days but 2nite walked a slow 30 mins @ indoor track.
Took a dose of night-time cold med now sipping herbal tea, should be drowsy soon. ♥ to all
-
Thanks for all the warm welcomes.
Cassie, Yay glad we are in this group together. After beginning to pick up my exercise a few weeks ago I had to try and find a group on the boards to help me stay committed! I am starting out slow but trying to be steady and do something each day. I am learning at the beginning that something maybe doing laundry, cleaning, etc. I notice these task put a lot of steps on my fit bit. LOL
I forgot to put on my fit bit yesterday until late so didnt get all my steps counted. My exercise yesterday was walking for 20 mins.
-
Auroaya, walking in Cancun sounds like a nice way to get exercise to me. Hope your appointments go well & that your dad is doing okay.
Mary, sending a hug!
Blah for all of us dealing with cold weather, snow, rotten roads (and rotten winter drivers) and the like. Eventually things will HAVE to improve!
Yea Rhody! Isn't it wonderful to feel good!
I really, truly did not have time for formal exercise today; but subbed in 7th grade Science which should count for something because I never sat down for one second all day. It is 'Spirit Week' at the middle school. Today they were all dressed in costumes of characters....so imagine trying to get a roomful of kids dressed like Darth Vadar, Ronald McDonald, Superman, Harry Potter etc. etc. to work in groups on a packet of worksheets about protists, algae, slime mold, asexual reproduction (titter, titter, titter)........
-
Aurora, hoping all goes well for the scan and that your dad is better quick. Welcome ladyb.
Pink pilates and two yoga classes in the afternoon on Thursday and now off to the gym (Friday morning) for freestyle step and body balance.
