Let's Post our Daily Exercise
Comments
-
Today was not a run day, did an hour of yoga + abs. Tomorrow's run involves speedwork and of course we're on tap for rain with some snow mixed in.
-
Yoga tonight.
LB the branch and its remnants are still in the yard, just where we left them. The DH can be pretty particular about the yard so we shall see how long it “sticks” around.
Welcome to the newbies!
Keep on truckin’ everyone.

I'm so over the cold! Any workout routines or recommendations for a newbie? I've always been a walker, which is the only form of exercise I enjoy. Which is why I don't go to the gym. Thinking of maybe trying to get into something else?
I'm very thin so not doing this for weight loss, just trying to be as healthy as I can be

Beach walking has become our daily exercise - today we walked almost 7 miles - it was sunny and warm and lovely, I will try to post a picture. Currently we are near St. Augustine - remembering the trip I did with my BCO sisters a few years ago. Will start slowly making our way up the coast towards DC, hoping to arrive there soon after the birth of our twin grandchildren.

Beautiful! The beach is my favorite place.
-
I walked the beach in the morning and then we headed to the Jungle Trail, which is a road built in the 1920s and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
-
At the northern end point of the road is Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, the nations first wildlife refuge established in 1903 by Theodore Roosevelt. It had some fun paths to explore.
-
Live - the only exercise I enjoy and do is walking. I just bundle up in layers and walk - generally after dinner with DH - as it warms up I resume walking before work. I do not like gyms nor do I like the equipment.
-
LiveLoveLaugh2020 mine too. Last year when we were on a short ocean vacation and I was saying yet again that the ocean is my happy place, my husband started laughing and said "do you think it's an accident I suggest these locations?" Love that man

Because of surgery a week and half ago, can only walk. Did 4 miles yesterday. Felt so good. Still have large seroma in armpit where lymph nodes were removed. Drained 60 ml out yesterday. Feels so much better. Can't wait to get back to gym. mastectomy right breast, reconstruction, sentinal lymph node removal. Stage 3 Triple neg breast cancer. T2N3, was told I'm pathologcal clear of cancer. I'm happy. Start radiation in 2 weeks along with trial drug again. On trial drug every 3 weeks atezolizumab. If I break out in rash like I did last time will be taken off study. Ready to move on

Martaj, you are doing FANTASTIC!
Today's run was what my coach calls speedplay--total of 4 miles, first mile was easy, then the next two miles were a minute faster, two minutes easy, rinse repeat and the last mile was easy. Finished up with the post run drills plus bosu ball stability work and some abs.
-
Ran a couple of errands to stores within walking distance. Came home and cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed the stair and hall runner and did one other house chore. Now down to planning dinner!
-
Karen good to see there are other "walker only's" out there!
Edj3 that's awesome, you got a keeper there! lol People think I'm crazy I go to the beach any chance I can get (can't wait for summer). It's so relaxing to me, definitely my happy place. I'm overdue for a real beach vacation!
Martaj hope that seroma clears up and you recover well.
Took another walk last night, hoping I do it again today! So tired lately.
-
Beaches are my favorite, too, but mountains are nice as well. Great photo, pat!
martaj, 4 miles is a mean walk.
LB, no, still here trying to make arrangements to leave, like getting a new passport and getting dogsitters.
Saw this on Youtube. Something I definitely want to try.
Walked/ran with the dog. Yoga tonight.
-
Sunrise walking on the beach!
-
Beautiful!

martaj ❤️🙏

Gorgeous photo, Ruth. Looks perfect for swimming.
I am still milking the bragging rights from my Polar Plunge. Though I did go back to the guy I dated a few years ago and let him know that I didn't find the Puget Sound all that cold. (I left off the part about being less impressed with his plunge, now that I have done the same thing.)
Want to encourage all the walkers/runners. Our feet work great for getting in the exercise we need.
Hoping for skiing and sunshine this coming Sunday. So few really great ski days, so important to get in as much as possible. That said, I saw cherry trees, daffodils, and pussy willows out today in the lowlands. So cycling season will soon be upon us. - Claire

COLD walk after dinner, 18 but feels like 12 - going to single digits over night. At least its not as windy as it was today went for a 10 minute walk during work (my promise to myself to get out of the building at least 10 minutes every day as I've been slacking off) and the wind was biting! Only good thing is by the week-end it will be in the 50s but not much sun
As it turns out we didn't get to see our "second" son. He was so overwhelmed with doctors etc. I had class last night till 6:30 so o time to see him after work and he left this morning. Says he's sure he'll be back in a couple weeks, so I reminded him that he can stay here. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that he still has a key to our house.
After this week only 4 more weeks till Spring break! Not that I'm counting.
Sweet dreams.

I want to also say that walking is as good for you as running, it just takes longer to cover the same distance.
Today was not a run day, I did some killer ab work plus weights plus a tiny bit of yoga for flexibility at the end.
-
Walking the beach every day. This morning was 'cool' and gray. I think there will be time for one more walk tomorrow before we start a day of travel.
-
Cool and grey ocean > cold Midwest.
Today was a 5 mile run, nice and easy.
-
Yoga this evening
-
Today’s exercise is scrubbing the kitchen cabinets
-
Come to Kansas, I have lots of cabinets that need your attention!
-
lol Super sore after all the scrubbing
-
Did a Body Works plus Abs class at the gym. Then, went to group class at local Cancer Support Community - was to have been Zumba Gold, but instructor was ill. Instead, we did a Leslie Sansone 3 mi "Walk Your Belly Flat" tape. Whew - feel like the whole body has had a good workout today. ,
Ocean/Beach really does it for me. We usually go to Isle of Palms near Charleston, SC but are trying the Chesapeake Bay this year (Lusby, MD). Mountains are also good - in my younger years, has some lovely skiing vacays in Aspen & Lake Tahoe.
-
So cold and windy here in RI. At least sun is out. Just did walking yesterday. Had my grandson and we made cookies and played dinosaurs. He is such a gem, age 5. He is quite the chatterbox
-
Long run today, 12 miles. Need to keep moving or else I'll tighten right up.
