I have a couple minutes this morning to send out some pictures. We are going to the Ruth Bader Ginsburg movie at 11:00, and then white water rafting!
First some food porn from the restaurant Snooze in Union Station.
-
Thanks for the protest pictures, my favorite is the Obama Lama ding dong one!
Got a 2 mile walk in yesterday, and keeping up with classical stretch daily.
-
Hiking trail near Boulder. My niece is leading the way.
-
We hiked a couple different trails and lived to tell the tale!
-
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is fabulous, with many wonderful displays and exhibits.
-
This is why you wouldn't want to mess around with an Alaskan Brown Bear!
-
We went to a Rockys game (which they won). I, of course, got myself the official baseball meal of a hot dog and beer.
-
Between the museum and baseball game, we shopped until we dropped at the 16th Street Mall. Here's some of the gang fueling up at the Rialto Cafe.
-
Yesterday some of us took a long walk through City Park. One of my niece's has a pool in her apartment complex, so we spent the afternoon there, walked over to a pizza place for dinner and played games in the evening. Now I am caught up!
Here is a statue in City Park that represents the pillars of Colorado; Love, Loyalty, Learning. I'm sitting in front of Learning.
-
Ruth, it looks like you're having a lovely time, and I shouldn't have looked at your photos on an empty stomach!
Lilac, too bad no one liked Trump there. I was hoping he'd stay!
Went for a short walk yesterday before it started to rain. Today I did a 41 minute walk at the lake - decided to take a little detour since a lady stopped me and said there was a skunk down that trail. Coyotes, foxes, no problem, but I'll avoid that skunk i'm behind a little on my exercise this week so I think I will head out for a short bike ride but I had to come get a cold drink and something in my tummy.
-
just got back from a hour walk. Just in time to watch the world cup finals
LB, thanks for the laugh!
I'm feeling puffy all over and my GI system is not happy. Wondering if that is due to arimidex. Oh well!
-
LilacBlue- yes thank you for the chuckle..so much of that was funny! The little tanning bed glasses...haha!
TwoHobbies- lol...no one wants him!
2Fun- glad you were able to get make it back inside for the finals. I just got a text alert that France won.
Ruth- you are keeping that fit bit popping! I love all the pictures! DH's brother lives in Denver we might make it out there one day. (YIKES! at the size of that paw!)
I just got home from church and it was such a sad day for the while church. We lost a 2 y/o to an accidental drowning. The family lived just up the street from us. The children (7 and 2) were in Indiana visiting with their bio father. Both were outside playing in a sandbox when the little one decided she wanted some water to put in the sandbox and got in an above ground pool. She was kept on life support until the mother and stepfather there from NC. Today was hard. I don't think there was a dry eye in the church. If you have a mintue lift the family up and hold them tight. Thanks!
-
vargadoll- how heartbreaking. The family must be absolutely devastated. What else could they be? How very sad.
Ruth- great vacation pictures. You look like you're having a lot of fun
-
Vargadoll how heartbreaking, it happens in the blink of an eye so sad for both of the families. LB those signs are hilarious my favorite is the Wanker one. Ruth looks like you are having a great time exploring Denver. TH I would take the other road too a skunk spray would not be pleasant at all.
This morning did a 45 minute RPM class, my neuroma is not cooperating these past few days so lots of icing and massage don’t want to go the cortisone route if I can avoid it
-
Vargadoll, I am so sorry to read of your community's loss.
-
Vargadoll, that is so sad. Keeping the family in my heart.
-
I am so very sorry, Vargadoll.
-
We had a great guide, so had a blast rafting in the pouring rain.
-
Vargadoll, sending prayers for the family. LB, so funny. As an aside, I am in love with Mayor Sadiq Khan. Ruth, what a thrill the rafting must have been! CHeryl, had to look up neuroma. Hope you get it under control.
Going for a (slow) run today.
-
Got to Portland despite 2 flats and 100 degree heat on Day 2. Crossing the Finish for 12 in a row! - Claire
-
Vargadoll, that is so sad. Prayers up for the families.
ruthbru, great pictures. I want to be you when I grow up!
Only yard work today between thunderstorms. hbcheryl, I'm with you. Why did the weeds get the gift of spreading everywhere within minutes? They pop up everywhere. Weed barriers covered with sand and mulch don't even keep them at bay for long.
Night sculpted friends.
-
claire- congrats on number 12. Great pic. You inspire me.
-
Claire, you look HOT in every way!
We had a fun last day in Denver. We went to the Botanic Gardens, which were beautiful; and to the Molly Brown House & Museum, which was very interesting. Opened the front door of my house at 11:30 pm. Today is catch-up & I plan to walk the grandpuppies this afternoon and hit POUND tonight.
Two last awesome pictures of our rafting adventure.
-
wow clair! I used to ride, but haven't since I ruptured my pelvis joints
Ruth, you are adventuresome!
75 min aerobics and strengthening in the pool today. Makes a total of 3.5 hrs in 3 days this week. Gosh I'm tired!!!lol
-
Varga, how heartbreaking - prayers for the family.
Ruth, looks like you had a blast on your vacation.
Claire - congrats! Great photo. You look so happy!
Yesterday we finished putting up the last tent for the Animal shelter yard sale later this month. It was hot and humid, and by the end I wasn't feeling very well, spent the rest of the day recovering. It seems the heat is beginning to affect me more than it ever has, this is the second time in a month that I've been under the weather from being active in the heat. Another hot and humid day today, but with clouds and breezes, feeling better so I got a 2 mile walk in this morning, and hope to do classical stretch this afternoon.
-
So Ruth, who did you push off the raft to take the pictures? lol
Claire, thought about you as I watched a little of Tour de France last week.
Just did a 3 mile walk this morning, then some shopping (where I somehow lost my reading glasses!)
Later sculpted friends.
-
They were taking pictures from the shore and let you download them for FREE (as opposed to most places that charge an arm and a leg). If you ever want to raft in Colorado (or know anybody who does), I highly recommend Clear Creek Rafting in Idaho Springs, Co.
-
Ruth- my family and I went white water rafting in Kentucky about 5 years ago. We had 5 rafts and there were 24 of us plus guides. We had a blast. I used muscles I didn't even know existed. Love your pictures. It brought back so many good memories.
-
Here's a couple calm pictures to end my trip.
A beautiful staircase from the Molly Brown Museum.
And the lily pond at the Denver Botanic Gardens.
-
Ruth- thanks for the calming pictures.
