Barbe - WTH - sorry you are having to go through this. Hoping you can get some answers and relief real soon. Besides, I am starting a new quilt project and may need your help. The last time I asked for help from you the project turned out great. You do remember the blue/black batik one? Seriously, please get better soon.

Barbe.....how scary! I am so glad they caught it and hopefully can figure out the best course of treatment for you. Take care, big hugs!
Eli...well it is confusing. I have neck issues but they have been ongoing for years. My PCP ordered PT for my neck. The therapist says that the discs in my neck are so tight that he is not surprised I have such little mobility. He said the discs are likely compressed which is common as we age. Figures. During PT a couple weeks ago, a different therapist noticed I was limping and asked what was wrong. I told her that my lower back hurt. She said that was an easy adjustment and did a few things. Did not help, two days later she did it again. That sent me straight to the hell pain train! After two days of bed rest it got better but then I saw my PCP and told him he ordered the MRI on my lower spine, which caught the herniated disc. I thought he would order the MRI for my neck too but he did not. Guessing I have old age disease with that.
Sherry, try not to worry about the neck pain. It is common I know that much and is likely nothing serious in your case. I'll be in your pocket hon! I think it will be all good news.
Welcome Dee.......I hope you are feeling better and know that you can come here for all the help and support you need. Your doctor should outline the course of treatment for you. Don't worry...you will be fine in time for your daughter's wedding!
-
Mar, I get Clooney, because Brad doesn't do a thing for me
The treats look excellent, thanks! -
Ew, Barbe, that sucks. Especially since it means you have to make do with Brad
. I hope they get you all fixed up soon. -
Welcome Dee! You'll find these ladies very helpful I am sure.
Barbe- I am so sorry you aren't feeling well but will hope stopping a medication or two will resolve the issue.... (((hugs))))
600+ pages!!! Wow! You ladies can have George & Brad but if anyone see Hugh Jackman, BACK OFF!!!! lol......
-
janis, I feel less confused now. The first chiro I ever went to said something like, "If you have trouble with the foundation [lower back,] the upper floors [cervical spine] are going to be wobbly too." It does seem like they should be doing some (gentle) PT for the lower also. See if they offer that decompression.
Barbe, That's terrifying! I'm sorry 2012 got off to such a scary start for you. I will hope that making a change in meds can undo that condition. Glad they want to eliminate some meds, instead of adding more. I know you have quite an array already so a decrease might do the trick. Establish a new balance, and try not to stress. But remember, this is the place you can do your dancing and virtual feasting, not to mention hook up with the heartthrobs (pun intended,) without any ill effect.

I did overlook the 600 PAGE observation, must have been out on a long walk yesterday. Sorry.
The thread is as long as a Stephen King novel now, but I think we have more plot twists here, horror of a more real nature, and more character development. I think we are about equal on the product placement (but he probably get some bonus for all his mentions.)
-
Barbe, ((((warm hugs and good thoughts for you now))).
Party? Hunks? count me in! Really, I'm just here for the food. Yummm! Where's the foo foo drinks?
-
Is the "Eve of Destruction" in your wake E?
Barbe-girl, Mum has posted in the garden, but when you are able you should copy & past over there. I'm with E-it's nice they want to eliminate meds instead of adding more for the start of the winnowing process! Take it slow & easy.
Mystery Pic, anyone?

Oops even after the reminder I forgot it is Sat. Here's the MP:

MP guess - A cloud in a photo?
-
MP: Want to say two prokaryotic cells hooking up in the Primordial Soup, but that wasn't captured on film, so I'll say ICE CUBE in a frothy liquid.
-
I'd like to bring Jason to the "Over 600 Page Party" if ya'll don't mind

He looks a little crabby for a party, but we could put a bag over his head....
-
Barb so sorry you had trip to the ER but glad they figured out what is going on. Hopefully they can correct it with less meds.
I think the old Brad is hot, but not so much the new brad.
MP-I'll say the space shuttle
I realized I have a couple of busy weeks ahead of me. Neck MRI on Monday, Pain Dr and MO on Friday, the next MOnday breast MRI then the following week follow up with BS from last surgery. My wire fell out right before surgery so they want an MRI to double check to make sure everything was gotten since the marking got messed up right before surgery. They think everything is OK but just a precaution. then I guess if something is really wrong with my neck I'll be going to some sprecialist for that. Whew I'm tired already.
-
Eph, I don't want things to get boring, so let's switch the guys for a while!!
Barbe, wow ... just a visual of those machines beeping all night with the crash cart outside the door is enough to get anyone upset. I hope and pray they get things resolved sooner than later.
MP - taken underwater looking up at the sun
-
barb, i'm so sad to read of your trip to the ER. i'm sending positive energy that the problem can be corrected with reducing your meds. i'm thinking about you.

I now have a HORRID cough. Obviously hospital-induced!!! It hurts so much to cough that I am up eating icecream to soothe my angry throat. Took 2 Oxycontins hoping to stop the cough centre in my brain!
That man has bigger breasts than me...he isn`t allowed in my bed!!

Didnt even notice the MP I was too distracted by Jason

It does look like a cloud shot.
I would like to wish all the Middies a very Healthy and Happy Newyear. ((Barbe)))

Barbe - wishing you all the best and pray that you find some answers soon.

barbe1958 you're still in the hospital? I had a horrible need to cough due to the Virox they use to disinfect the mattress and pillows in the hospital. I am sensitized to formaldehyde and it is part of the formula. I was actually using the PCA morphine for that headache, and not for pain from the DIEP. I didn't immediately realize the cause until I rested an arm on a pillow without a pillowcase and my arm skin turned red and rashy. I couldn't recline because when I did, the sinuses would drain into my raw throat and the cough reflex would start. I put the pillows in a corner of the room and it was reduced but not gone. After a couple days, I chucked the pillows out into the hall and put extra sheets over the mattress cover and it was reduced more. Every time I walked around the floor, my nose would run from reacting to this cleanser elsewhere. Formaldehyde isn't an "allergy", it's a "sensitivity", but the reactions are the same. Hope you feel better soon both from the original issue and from the hospital induced cough! [edited to fix font]Diagnosis: DCIS, 4cm, Grade 3, 0/2 nodes

-
goldlining, welcome to this thread! Good point about hospital cleaning products...more "industrial strength" than our home products, also other products we might not contact in the home.

MP: I see everything y'all see, so I'll just say snow on a foot path light

Barbie so sorry for your condition now. You have had your share of health issues to deal with, you don't need this. Keep you in my prayers.
