MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN 40-60ish

Oh Meece, thanks for letting me know that it is still you too. It's not happening to everyone who comes to this thread, but there is still a group of us that has the problem. In the past two mos. I have reported it to The Mods three times. First reporting, told it would be fixed "soon." Second reporting, no reply. Third reporting (about a week ago) and I was told that they would notify the techs about it. Barbe has also PMed.
I don't think they have a way to know how many this is happening to. Although I didn't think we would have to form a coalitition to get this technical problem resolved, maybe the time has come to ask all who are having the problem of this thread not opening to the most current page, to PM The Moderators and let them know, so they will know it is not just one or two people having the trouble.
I understand that this is a minor problem, not on high priority. Personally, I have shown patience for two months, but I second what Meece said, it is getting old.

We'll let JO run with the mystery pic. I don't consider it an exotic flower, but after the comments from women who have never seen one, I now consider myself very lucky to live in a temperate climate!!!
Congrats to all who guessed flower. That's why I specifically said it wasn't a stain as it looked like cells on glass.
And YEP, it is getting old!! I have to go to 'last page' and then read the first post to see if I remember it and if not, go back a page!
-
Yaya...I understand your fear about something new...I'm the same way. But my petscan wasn't bad at all. They injected me with the radioactive stuff and I sat in a nice leather recliner for an hour. The scan itself was very quick and so uneventful that I barely remember it and it was only 5 weeks ago.
-
Yaya, it was no big deal for most people but not me....I CANNOT sit still for an hour. They made me lie in a darkened room after the dye was injected in a recliner with NO books, no music, no TV, nothing. Torture for me. There was a sign on the wall that said something about how the tech cannot get too close to you so don't ask and I ended up playing anagram word games off the sign.
-
Wow BarbaraA...that stinks. They did tell me not to move around a lot but my daughter was allowed in the room with me and we talked the hour away. They did say I was allowed to read and the room was bright enough to do so. They also had music playing. Hopefully, Yaya' s experience will be more like mine.

Hey, everyone still having problems with the page loading - try clearing the cache on your computer and/or deleting cookies, etc. Then restart your computer and give it a try. Sometimes the cache or cookies can do funky things (like loading a page from the same place it last "saved" on your computer).
Just FYI, you might have to start all over with entering usernames/passwords again if you have your computer remembering that info once you do this though.
Don't know if it will help, but it's worth a try.
-
reesie, that did not do the trick for me...I am on a whole different hard drive than when the problem began.
-
I also have used multiple computers and had the same issue. Did anyone try removing it from Favorites and then reinstating it? The problem seems to be tied to the whole "opening from Favorites" thing. It used to go right to where I last was reading when I selected it that way... I'm not even on here that much, and it STILL gives me an eye twitch.
-
Yaya my pet scan was not bad, got the dye and sat in a relciner. They had a tv in there but I had taken a book to read. My pet scan was a combo unit that does the pet and cat scan so I never had to leave the machine.
Barbara yours sounds alwful that they did not let you bring anything to read with you. I would have gone stir crazy as well.
-
Kleenex, I just tried that. I removed it from favorites and even tried to come back, not from home page, but through the active topics listing. Nope, didn't work, exact same glitch. Grrr!
-
Grrr, Eli et al. It happened to me for a while and I exported my cookies and deleted all the files then reimported my cookies and voila.
--edited for usual typos.
-
When I fried my previous hard drive, all the cookies and files went with it. So, this is happening on a new drive, and since it happened to more than a few of us there has got to be something they can tweak on the website to fix it I would think.

Is this happening to Middies who go "way back" in the thread? What is happening with Newbies? YaYa5 & cmblastic, can you comment on if you can open this thread and come right to the last/current page?
-
E, I had the problem when I first started posting in the thread but it went away. If I remember correctly the problem had just started happening when I started. Maybe it's a browser issue for the ones it still happens with? I use Mozilla Firefox or IE..
-
Ooh, E, I just saw the new pic. Now I want to go to an exotic island
-
It goes to the current page for me and I'm relatively new here.
-
Elimar I started lurking back in November and have posted a few times since then. I do not have an issue
Welcom YaYa, the tech wouldn't let me read during my wait time for my petscan but he said the TV was OK. Isn't science wonderful???
-
Hey E, I am an oldie here and nothing I have done changes that I open on page 42 with my response to you about "twinges"
this is getting to be a pain in the butt so will ask the moderators to look into it also.I knew it wasn't hollyhocks because I used to make dolls out of them, but did not know what it was!

Welcome YA YA Sorry to meet like this. I just finished chemo you have to take one day at at a time. You are right the waiting is the worst but once you start you feel like something is getting done. I see my surgeon on the 14 for the next step. God has been so good to me. Also I found it a great help if you have a support group where you live. I will keep you in prayer.

Tomorrow I go see the PS about the big exchange. I'm abit nervous, but am ready to get these rocks outa my chest. I have read enough info to know what Im getting into, but sometimes reallife answers seem the best. If any of you ladies have some tips for me I would really love it if you could help me out. I have a list of what to ask him, but could really use your advice on this. I love my PS and he has done this alot, he is on the other side of the coin. I would rather hear from the side that Im on. Thanks for your help!
-
OMG! i'm so grateful that i'm old! seriously. now you drink barium that tastes like LEMONADE??! i couldn't believe it. and the pet machine that does cat scans, too?? WOW! this morning was another amazing experiences. the pet scan was nothing but a good excuse to lie down and rest. the tech who started my IV blew a vein in my hand and that hurt a little, but that's no big deal. the ultra scan of my heart was resting time as well. i'm so grateful. maybe i'll hear some news this afternoon.
when i opened this thread just now, it took me right to this page. that's the first time, though, since i've been here.
-
LOL, YaYa5! So glad you had a day of rest and relaxation with all the new-fangled techniques of modern medicine, ha,ha. We'll be hoping that those scans come back clear as can be.
Paula 66, I didn't have the exchange experience, so I can't offer anything on that.
-
I have an observation on the thread glitch...
All the people (so far) that say they are still having trouble on this thread, are Middies who were around and posting back in the days of the (inescapable) page 42. OG, Barbe, Kleenex, Meece, and I go back that far. I don't know if it is happening to every single one who was posting that long ago or not.
Then, the newer Middies that did have the problem (BarbA, reesie) seemed to be able to fix it, but I can't seem to, doing the same things. I'm using Firefox too. Some new to this thread don't have the problem at all. I don't know the proper word for it, but maybe there is something in our "older" signatures that keeps directing us into the past.
-
Elimar I am not having problems. When they did the update I had problems for awhile but then it corrected itself.
-
Eli,
Been here since the thread started, not really posting but have email notification and read it every day. I log in, scroll down the discussion board main page and click on the thread title - I came straight to your last post. I use IE and type in the web address - not favorites. At least on the computer I'm typing this on.
Trish
-
Yaya...I'm glad it went well...Yay!!! Hopefully, your scans will all come back clear...saying a prayer they do.
-
I start out on page 42 no matter which computer I'm using. I've had it happen on 4 computers, 3 at home and one at work. It is getting old, I agree, but it was happening with ALL my favorites. Now it's only on this thread. Hopefully the tech folks will get it figured out soon.
-
Thanks prayrv, for adding to the mystery of why only some of us are having the problem. I thought I might have been on to something, but you blew that theory to bits. Could this little problem be more complicated that we think? Sheesh!
I know The Mods and Techs have been busy making changes (e.g. "Report A Post") due to the infighting of some of the thread factions that caused such an uproar, that they probably got priority consideration for their woes. As far as wheels go, we have hardly squeaked at all, but why-oh-why must it come to that?
-
Actually, I start out on page 40. . .
-
I have no problems on my laptop in my office. On my home computer, mine always starts at the very first post I made in the Nov Rads Thread. I don't know why it happens in just the one but it doesn't bother me. I just scroll back to the top and log in.
