Sherryc - I managed to get out of the funk. Now, if I could just get some sleep. That is on my list for the onc when I see him.
May have to go back to the surgeon. Numbness in the arm from the SNB is flaring up. Got used to the numbness but now it more intense and constant pain. That is not helping with the sleep issues either as I sleep on that side. Could be just the cold weather.
The cold front has made it to deep south Texas and will be in the mid 30's tomorrow morning. If this keeps up, I am moving further south - maybe to the Carribean (sp?)
-
Merry Christmas to all of you !
-
JO, you probably shouldn't sleep on your SNB side. The surgeon can't do anything for you. You may be developing LE! Be careful about "cramping" the node side of your chest. My LE is bad right now and I don't know if it's carrying parcels or the cold....
-
barbe1958 - Don't want to sound stupid but what is LE?
I have been sleeping on my SNB side ever since surgery 4 months ago. Never any problem until recently - could be the cold snap we are having. Don't know, we have had some cold weather and no problems in the past.
I have always been a left side sleeper - could go half way on the back.
-
jo....gotta go you there "LE" "SNB" "GS" and DD in anouther discipline measn deveolpmentall disabled.....here as well?
and btw carol....let me know if you make ay progress on the uploading issue !?!

Lol that Meece picture posted reminded me of today at my family christmas. But I dont smoke or drink and Im not prego. But they did snap a photo of my hubby grabing a hand full. Plus we were joking with him to grab one of my sissys boob then one of my other sissys to compare sizes for my, lol. Im sure some are thinking Im crazy, but thats ok. We have always been fighters with whatever we have come up against and Im not letting this cancer take my sense of humer. It can have my boobs, but thats it. I hope everyone had a fun Christmas today. Ours was a blast.
-
phew - Here we use alot of abbreviations. There is a thread that explains them. Most I have figured out along the way. I could look it up myself - duh!
-
jo1958, LE means lymphedema. It is fluid build-up in your arm (or trunk/chest) caused by the surgical severing of the lymphatic vessels and the nodes that are removed. You will get pain and pressure from the fluid retention. Women getting mastectomies, or lots of nodes removed are usually advised to wear a compression sleeve, etc. Generally, the less nodes you have out, the less chance for LE to develop but, as always, there can be exceptions to that.

I'm going to rate today a whopping 9 out of 10. My Xmas meal was heaven...it featured mainly Greek style foods: lamb chops, roasted potatoes, spinach pie, green beans, tomato & olive salad, tzatsiki (the cucumber/yogurt stuff,) and melomakaroun (that's a honey/walnut dessert.) All the gifting went pretty well, but my day lost a point because to my horror, my own husband got me a Snuggie! While they might have their merits, that is so not me. He should know!
-
Meece. ROFLOLASLAR (ROFLOL and snorting like a reindeer) at your pic. Lookin' good!
-
elimar - Thanks. I just looked it up. Don't feel fluid build up. Feels like I have a blunt trauma without the bruising. BC sure is the gift that keeps on giving - would rather pass on this one.
A SNUGGIE! Oh my? What does one say when they get one of those? That's almost as bad as getting a toaster for your wedding anniversary. Let him down gently - I'm sure he means well.
-
So, I like the new pic, but have no idea what that phrase is or what language it is in. Translations welcome, if anyone knows. If the phrase turns out to be something filthy, I'll leave it up a few more days!
[Edit: The picture seems to have disaeared ovrnight???]
-
This is the only snow I will see - we don't have snow where I live
-
elimar....You can rule out Armenian and Turkish. It could be Russian???
Snuggie
HI JO
-
Call me weird, but I like the idea of the snuggie, would take to chemo to keep me warm. My hubby bought me one last year and I still use it all the time including at chemo.
-
Sheila - Merhaba
-
jo..Nasilsin?
-
Elimar - Horror of Horrors! I got a Snuggie, too! From my dumb little brother AND it's a re-gifting of a re-gifting! I'm thinking about re-gifting it again, or maybe I'll save it until next year and give it BACK to him!
-
Sheila - iyiym, tesekkur ederim
Nasilsin?
-
jo...Ben de iyiyim
-
Well, if we're on a B/C thread and the big horror of the day is getting a blanket with arms, things aren't too bad in our worlds right now, right? Winkety wink, HnS76!
-
Mr Google told me its Russian. If its written under a tree it cant be bad.

Msroulette .. you did not cheat ... you are very fortunate ... I am grateful for my cancer, as I have to have a positive attitude and accept what ever is sent my way, it could have been way worse ... I escaped Radiation and Chemotherapy and NOW because I have my Naturopathic Oncologist I can bypass my five year sentence on Tamoxifen ... It is almost funny how so many survivors I know treat me almost like I cheated ... I had my surgery Nov 30th bilateral mastectomy and I am in the process of reconstruction ... tumour had grown so the implants were not possible at surgery ... had to get the tissue expanders, a shocker when I woke up .. had the best surgeons and they knew what to do ... Keep being here for yourself and for the positive energy that we all need ... I am so glad that you got 'got cheated' ... Have a wonderful Christmas!

Laughing still at that tree - I think I know them!! Abbreviations - I hope you can find the thread with all the answers, but if not, please feel free to send me a PM (private message) if your embarrassed to ask in here - you shouldn't be, ever, but I know some are - and I'll fill you in!! Took me months to learn them all, and 5+ yrs out, I still find myself now and then wondering about a new one! I had a wonderful day with my kids, but am now on pins and needles because my family's big gathering (58 of us, just immediate family) is tomorrow and snow is predicted and I'm manic scared to drive/travel in snow. One of those forecasts where 10 diff scenarios as to timing, so if anyone has a Hail Mary left over and wanted to throw this way for a not urgent request, I'd be grateful! Love and hugs kids.
-
elimar - If I had a choice between BC and a snuggie - guess which one I would choose? That should be a no brainer
-
Buds, it's late and I may be repeating myself, but if you haven't yet clicked on the link at top or bottom of page about "how has bco helped", it's a cool video and ... ahem ... I'm one of the women in there
A highlight of my life to be sure that I was included in that video and something that makes me smile whenever I see the promo. Hugs and love to all.
-
marlegal - Will watch it in the morning. Are you signing autographs?
