Hello Mrs. Mary...... I hope busy and fun are two in the same.... I pray your health is doing well, and you are enjoying the weather we are FINALLY having where you and I live...:)
-
Congratulations on the new grandson!
I just started my 18th and final year of homeschooling. My youngest is a senior this year.I have mixed emotions....
My husband and I are supposed to go to Hilton Head in less than two weeks but now Tropical Storm Katia is out there and heading our way. Hopefully, we'll still be able to go. All in God's hands!
I hope everyone has a great week!

Barb.... since you homeschooled you children all the way to graduation.... I would love to hear what your children did after homeschooling. Did they graduated college... are they about to..... etc.... I am always very curious about this.
We used Seton with our youngest only.... and only for middle school through senior.

Hello All
estepp ((( ))) I see that you extended a welcome to all the ladies and 1 gentleman - does that mean that there are 2 men on this thread ? lol
LMFSM congrats on the grandson - I really like his first name ! !
Hope you are all safe after the huricane. We don't have those here, just lots and lots of rain lol.
It was the lay reader on Sunday at 12 00 mass. Then Monday was a bank holiday here and I was away to a wedding which involved an overnight stay and came home yesterday. 3rd wedding I have been at this August. All very enjoyable.
Princess #2 comes home tonight after finishing up at Uni. Unfortunately she has not found a position yet so will you say a prayer for her please? Though I do have to admit that I'm just delighted to be having her back home as I miss my 2 princesses soo much.
I had my Herceptin treatment last Thursday. Dose #12. I think I have already mentioned that I get home treatment now as the clinic in the hospital is bursting at the seams. Fortunately I have very few SEs from the Herceptin. Have a CT Scan on 12 September and my next treatment is on the 15th but go to the clinic to give my bloods on 14th so lets hope that the results of the scan are there on time. More importantly will you say a prayer please that there are good results from the scan. Last scan was 3 months ago and it again showed that the tumours had not grown and in fact had slightly reduced in size. So the Herceptin must be working.
What time are the prayers at relative to New York time ? I could work it out from that as we are 5 hours ahead of NY.
Take care all

Estepp...We have three children through the miracle of adoption. Our daughter is 24, got an academic scholarship to college, and is now an ICU nurse at Children's Hospital here in Cincinnati.
Our oldest son is 19 and about to start at our local community college next week and is majoring in marketing.
Our youngest son is 17. We didn't have him enter our lives until he was almost 2 years old. He was severely malnourished and neglected. He only weighed 14 lbs., had no growth hormone, had no teeth, only made guttural noises, etc. Unfortunately, he has permanent effects from those first two years. He's developmentally delayed and is a very slow learner. So homeschooling is a blessing for us because I can give him lots and lots of one-on-one time and have learned how he learns best.
So I've had 3 very different experiences with my children and homeschooling but I'm so glad I had this option.
A blessed day to everyone!

awesome Barb..... sounds really promising for your children... and the youngest is lucky... so lucky to have you !
If anyone is confused about the posts of yesterday.... here is an explanation:
There was a SPAMMER that hit up our Catholic thread. This happens now and again here on BCO. I saw it....... figured it out.......... wrote a post here for you all to not respond to this post ( God forbid anyone hit on that link... could have messed up your whole PC)..... and then I let the moderators here about it. They had it removed off this thread within a hour. ( YAY MODS!!) So, if the posts of yesterday seem weird.... that is why... we are missing the spammer...:) Sorry for the confusion ( those Pming me) but know... all is AOK today!

One of the early lessons we learned when we moved to Florida in 1992. Andrew happened about 6 months after we got here. Is only look for an update 1-2x's a day on hurricances. You may get prepared, but if you are glued to the weather channel, it is very fatiguing and anxiety producing. We ultimately learned to say------"Is it coming our way?". Otherwise we didn't listen. Takes to much out of you.

special prayers please for Jennifer - the 19 year old niece with brain cancer....she has stopped eating, she is in immense pain and is in a hospice facility. Her 20 year old sister has been unreachable as well and is not doing well with the news. ....they are a family in crisis....Jennifer will leave a four year old....
