Our Escape

I think it probably is a combination of maybe pushing it a bit ... and not getting good sleep and just plain blahhhh
-
I'd definitely speak to the Dr. today about your expander pictured above Checkum. (I'm glad I didn't have a sip of tea while I scrolled down
) I'm not an expert and maybe that's the new model but I don't think they should look like that. No wonder it's uncomfortable.
But a new day dawns. Hopefully better.
-
Hey Mak, I saw purple too. I think Checkum needs to be looked at...
Angry oceans are not my idea of an escape, but a time for mediative thoughts of the bad kind.
Checkum your posts were dark and angry yesterday girlfriend! S'up today?
-
I love any kind of ocean. Angry or otherwise I find it calming and passionate.
Red sky in the morning.........
-
Hey Barbe, good to see you up and running........
-
I don't "do" running. I can never keep my breath. Even when I weighed 70 pounds less, by the way. I was tested on all sorts of machines and the doctors were stumped.
-
I TRY to run on my treadmill and can do it for about 4 minutes before I want to puke. Isn't that nice? I can walk very fast for hours, just can't run. So I walk for 10 mins, run for 4 mins, walk for 10, etc a vicious cycle. Get's the heart rate up.
-
Hey Checkum, speaking of up and running. Where are you?
-
Hi all---
Just got back from Lebanon. I have lymphodema in my trunk (LOL - not a trunk like you pack for vacation).... It is part of the reason the expander has been bothering me so dang much. FINALLY somebody looked and said - WOW -
To make a long story short - the PT did a manual massage to move the fluid around I feel a bit better - but she says I will need probably about 6 sessions before we get a handle on what is happening - (because I ignored it for so long --- I don't think I ignored it - I just wasn't being LOUD enough about it)... anyway you should see the rig they are going to order for me --- it is like a body suit bra, now that will be nice and cool for the summer LOL --- hey if it helps I will suck it up and say thank you ....
Well- long day - but, finally it is nice to have somebody paying attention. Also, the expander is pushing on the skin and they basically taped a pad over it to put pressure on it and relieve the pressure on the skin. Phew...
-
Hi Cindy - So glad they figured out what was going on. You need to be more of a squeaky wheel! Relax and have a great rest of yoru night! We missed you today.
-
Tks... I think part of it is the fact that it is a long haul to go up there - so I tend to poo poo everything and I learned today that -- that is dumb!
-
Welllll thank goodness there's an 'answer' and insight and expertise to intervene.
Sending prayers for totally effective PT.
Big hugs.
Will you still be going to work??
Please take good care of yourself.
-
I just came off disability - so I am going to try to keep working. My boss has been pretty supportive although I am not looking forward to breaking this news. Our company is really struggling layning off 100 people next week - I only sit at a desk and go to meetings all day... it is just the driving and then the driving to the therapist that will be long.... I will have to see how it goes
-
I didn't even know you could get lymphodema in your trunk --- I thought it was your arm
-
Yeah, The things we learn along the way.
Sorry you're having to learn more than ever expected.
Also sorry to hear about your company's concerns.
will be sending you good vibes
-
Now Cindy, you know if you just "sat at a desk all day and went to meetings" that you would be one of the 100 let go! You MUST do something while you sit at your desk....
Sorry about the LE, Yikes! I hope you make sure whoever ignored you near home feels badly.
-
well - like the PT told me, surgeons are good at surgery. PT's need to be specially trained in dealing with LE and not many are at this point. Another thing that needs to change! I actually looked last night for those trained withing 100 miles of my house and 2 came up...equally as far as going to this one in Lebanon. I like her and she seems to know her stuff. So- I am sticking with her. I do work harder than it sounds - LOL
Enough of this BC stuff .... back to Escaping - Bermuda has always been a good spot for me..
-
Good morning Checkum - I believe KAK is a PT in RI. Perhaps she could recommend someone. Maybe not, but it's probably worth checking out.
Hope you are feeling better this morning.
I'm off to the bus stop or Aruba as I like to call it. I go there from 7 to 3 M-F.
-
Lymphedema is well known (amongst lymphers) as breast cancer's dirty little secret. The medical profession is often really slow to pick up on it and if you easily find someone who knows about massage to move things around you are fortunate and hopefully away to the races. The lymphedema boards here have a wealth of information and some really knowledgeable ladies. Good luck Checkum. I hope things get under control quickly. The compression garment should help a lot too.
-
Where are you all? What island to you meet at and why didn't you invite me?
-
-
Linda, good question. I guess everyone escaped from escaping yesterday?????
Well here's to another day of escaping.
I'll be here all day..........bring drinks and food.
-
Off to work --- but, this is where I would rather be!
-
Hey Checkum, take it easy gf. Julz started a thread for Toyful under Prayers and Spiritual Inspiration.
-
I posted this on the beach but just think it's too pretty not to share. What I'd do to be standing there now.
-
Isn't that you....? It would be better if I was beside you handing you a nice ice tea
-
Yes - but I smell the fruit..... I am waiting for you to catch up so we can eat LOL
-
I don't think the hands on her hip pose is serenity....they should have asked me before they printed it up! Better off without her in the pic.
-
Good point Barbe!
