Daisy6 - thanks for watching my back!  I can just see myself stumbling in the hotel trying to find my room and of course without reading glasses, I might as well be blind and will end up trying to insert my card in the wrong door Laughing  You know....they really should make signs larger!  My eyesight was already going bad but add chemo on top of it and I can't even see who is on the caller id on my cell phone or home phone without glasses.

If we play our cards right - (i.e. play the cancer card) we might be able to con some of the cute bartenders out of  free drinks.  I can't tell you how many restaurants gave me free desert when they saw my bald head!  I hope I am not the only one coming with only 1" of hair on my head!  If so, that is ok - I am bringing a couple of my LONG wigs with me just for fun.

    • We also have to think about transportation.  There will be taxi's outside our hotel to take us to the paint the square...but now I'm imagining all of the pink ladies at the square wanting transportation as well.  I'm sure there will be taxi's there as well.

My vote is...since we have the piano bar reserved until 10 on Saturday for the $25 we should just do that.

I'm thinking that maybe some of us are planning on a show on Sunday night or something...maybe just hangin out at our hotel playing the slots.

    • Friday: 6:30-8pm Meet and Greet at the Dolphin Bar-Wear tata shirt

After the meet and greet maybe go to our rooms and change clothes.
Then go to Jet.  We are on the guest list.

    • Saturday: buffet at Treasure Island $7.99 each. After brunch do whatever...maybe lay by the pool, dolphin tour, etc.
Then Paint the Square 6-9pm-Wear tata shirt
Piano bar (19 people so far)
    • Sunday: Late lunch buffet at Bellagio  We need to decide on a time for this and has anybody made a reservation?  (20 people so far) Daisy do you want to do that since it was your suggestion.  :-)
Maybe do buy one get one free drinks at Kahunaville.
      Coyote Ugly

So far those who are willing to pay the $25 for the piano bar are:

    1. Susie
    2. Clare

Sounds like I can go casual at the places that are mentioned.  I had no luck finding a nice cocktail dress, did find a nice sundress to wear but I am just a casual type person, shorts, jeans, t-shirts, that is how I feel most comfortable oh and of course my scrubs which I will be wearing on Friday at the airport!

I would definately suggest wearing shorts with our special t-shirts at Paint the Square instead of jeans since we will be outside and it will be hot!  What is so difficult is that outside it is hot but once you get inside the hotels, it is alot cooler.

How long does it take ya'll to get ready?  I am not one of those high maintenance type women - I can get changed, etc. in less than 20 minutes!  I don't have any hair to really take care of and if I choose to wear make-up, well that takes me all of 10 minutes at the most!

Jazzy - can we wear blue jeans to Jet after the meet and greet?

  • jancie

Daisy6 - I would agree - that coupon qualifies for that drink you promised Jazzy!  No worries, I am on my hubby's debit card for the weekend so I had already promised to buy Jazzy some drinks on him!

Better yet, we will sit Jazzy down at a slot machine, give her a couple of dollars worth of quarters, and then have the lady come over with the free drinks and that is how we can technically say we bought her drinks!  Of course if Jazzy hits the jackpot then she has to split it with us!

Sorry, no sale on your son.  I have nightmare stories I can tell about my dh's ex-wife and his daughter that will make your hair stand up on end!

Got one 14 year old boy at home, when he is gone then it will be critters only from here on out!

Daisy -I started to post something and then just deleted it all - on purpose.  Ask me about my horse when we see each other so I will remember what I was going to tell you.

Jancie - I cannot see any more either, and I didn't have chemo.  I do not have a cocktail dress either.  I tried on a thousand and they all looked awful.  And, I am still not allowed to wear anything tight, and my tata shirt is pretty tight.  I may just wear it for a short while. I do not take long to get ready either -- so we'll be good roomies.

As far as the events, I am game for anything --- just tell me where and when to show up.

YUP!!!  I will take the coupon...the drinks on hubby's debit...and the slot machine waitress drinks!!!  I started a diet saturday and I have been real good...and have lost 2 pounds since saturday!!!  I also haven't had a drink since Friday and for me this is doing good!!  :-)  SO I will be ready for those drinks...hopefully it won't ruin my diet too much since I really want to lose 10 pounds before my surgery on Oct. 20th.

Good morning to all of you.  Hope all is great.  I have a day of meetings today, how exciting.

Jazzy, The schedule looks great.  If we are doing Coyote Ugly on Sunday, somebody needs to call the manager at Coyote Ugly and let them know we are not coming on Saturday and ask if there is space for us to be in the guest list on Sunday the reservation is under the Tata Sisterhood group.

They only have a limited amount of guests they can have for an evening I guess, so it would be good if somebody changes this as soon as possible.

We are going to a show Sunday but I (or we) well join you after the show is over.

Hope you ladies have a great day.

    Hugs

    Gisella

Wow!  Lots of chatting going on here!

Let me check in on a few topics that I remember.

Regarding prep time, I can whip things off and on in a flash (ie: less than 1 minute.)  I wear baggy things that slip right on, hair does it's own thing and I don't try to change it, no make-up, no bra, no problem...

Being a naturist, it's unusual for me to DRESS let alone DRESS UP!  I'm a natural gal who definitely dresses for comfort, not for style.  The last time I had a pair of nylons and heals on was over 25 years ago.  I'm just realizing with all this clothing talk that I don't even OWN a swimsuit or pair of pajamas.  I guess I DO have a "to do" list (or "to get" list) before hopping on the plane.

OK.  Speaking of textiles, it's too late for me to order a ta-ta shirt, so if anyone has an extra they want to sell, pm me and let me know - the larger the better.  Otherwise, I'll be wearing some other bright pink t-shirt.

Regarding entertainment, I'm open to pretty much anything that people want to do together in small or large groups.  That includes the "LOVE" show - such a deal for $80!  The only thing that doesn't appeal so much to me are the $65 seats at the piano bar since I only average having one drink every 3-4 years.  I doubt if I will spend that much money for drinks the rest of my life - of course, I could drink my life's ration all in one night and be done with it... UndecidedWinkSurprisedEmbarassedYellUndecided

And btw, I'm a dog person to the very core, but have the following kid critters: a krazy kat, a 10" goldfish, a 12" koi, an amazon, a cockatoo, a macaw, and two walking sticks (Slim and Twiggy.)  Oh, the stories I could tell...

Laura  - I thought of you this morning.  I am having rads twice today since Monday I don't return until 4:20 pm and the rads dept shuts down at 5 pm and that was going to be my last treatment.

So.....after 2 weeks of rads I had to change my appt from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm because I couldn't get out of bed.  Part because I am here posting with you at midnight every night and also because I am sleeping 12 hours a day due to fatigue.

Well the only way they could double boost me is schedule me for 8:30 am and then again at 3:30 pm.

Where am I going with this?

I am sure  you have seen the commercial for "got milk" and the way that the people say this on TV?

I went into the rads dept against my will at 8:30 am - I so wanted to do my normal sleep in until 10:30 am and the first thing out of my mouth to my rad tech was in the same exact voice....I said.........

"GOT COFFEE?"  I thought the rad tech was going to fall down with laughter.  I told him that if they really wanted to be compassionate that they should be serving coffee to all of those people that had to come in at a ridiculous hour every morning for rads!  No....I didn't get my coffee.

Friday am I will be buying coffee at the SLC airport - have to pee about 4 times on the plane.  It never fails.  I pee right before I get on the plane and then before we have arrived at the "cruising altitude of 30,000 ft" I have to pee so bad.  I have learned to just ignore the seat belt sign and go pee even if we are still climbing in the air!

Jancie NOT FAIR RADS TWICE IN ONE DAY!!!!  URGH!!!!

Hey girls...I only suggested Coyote Ugly for Sunday because being getting to the piano bar around 9:30-10 I figure we will be there a couple of hours at least.  That puts us at midnight.  I know I can go all night...but not too sure about everybody else.  It is very convenient being in the same hotel...so not too sure if everybody is up for going back the next night....I just need everybody's feedback BEFORE we change any reservations.

Personally I don't care one way or the other about Coyote Ugly or Piano Bar Saturday or Sunday - makes no difference to me - I will go where ya'll are going!  I am easy Sealed

I will bring some of my ritalin with me and see if that helps me stay up.  I am good to go until probably 2 am but know that I will be sneaking back to the hotel room in the middle of the day to take a nap before the night's event while ya'll are sunbathing at the pool because I certainly can't be in the sun at all being that I am red as a lobster right now. Yell  Besides these extra 20 lbs of chemo/menopause weight - I am a little bit self conscious about getting out there with strangers (not talking about ya'll - you are my FRIENDS!).

Dang my luck - my hair on my scalp is only about 1-1/2" long but the hair in the southern region is growing like wildfire.  Why can't our hair on our scalp grow at the same rate?  Just doesn't seem fair.

For me.... The meet and greet... the Pink in the Square... Bellagio Dinner... the pool . and freemont street sound the best!.. oh yes... and some gambling...:)

After the meet and greet.. it would be fun to go another place there in our hotel... and after the Pink thing.. it would be fun to hit something after...

I would not be up for hitting a new joint after midnight... I am too old ..LOL... but to hang at the hotel and play around with other late nighters.. I am in...

As long as our breakfast meetings are around 10:30.. all is good with me....LOL
