Sending out huggs and prayers for you Lucy.
-
Belated happy birthday wishes Arnie!!! Hope you had an extra special day! Reading is my guilty pleasure too and that sounds like a perfect way to spend a birthday to me!
Prayers said Lucy.
My mammo was fine. They did keep me back there for an hour and a half and did call me back in for a closer look at some calcifications. I was getting a little worried (but not too badly thanks to my new best friend Xanax!) and scared, but finally the radiologist came in himself and told me he just wanted a really close look at those to make sure they hadn't changed since last year. They hadn't. They are benign. They are vascular. And he told me I would have diagnostic mammos for the next two years, so be prepared for another long one next year too. He was very nice and I was thrilled that they looked so closely and that they didn't find anything!!! My poor hubby apparently was about to go nuts waiting so long in the outer room and not knowing what was going on. Scared him to death!! Maybe he should meet my new best friend!! LOL They squished my poor little lonely boob until I thought it was going to pop. It's actually a little sore still. Worth it for the good news and the all clear though!!
Hugs bunnies!! I did no housework today in honor of Arnie's birthday even though I think I missed the actual day. Surely there is a bunny birthday grace period.
-
Lol...Mary!!! Yes there is a bunny grace period. I did housework today so wouldn't have to do any over the weekend!!! SO GLAD TO HEAR THE GOOD REPORT!!!!! Yippppeeeeeeeeeee
Holly...so sorry to hear about hubby's job...prayers going up!!!!

Arnie. I think you get to celebrate the entire weekend. You've had quite a year & I think we can extend your celebration thru the entire weekend.
Lucy. I'm sending good thoughts for your husband's employment situation. Hopefully he will find something of significance shortly. Sending you hugs in the mean time.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Mary thank goodness for your good report. I'm glad that they are taking such good care of you. I bet your hubby was indeed about to come out of his skin. You two have lots to celebrate this weekend as well!!
Well fooie. I think we should all have a superlative weekend. We are deserving.
I rode my bike for 21.2 miles this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I'm getting some stamina back, day by day. I haven't yet taken to the hills, but every day I'm getting a bit more adventuresome. It is so thrilling to be able to return to my biking.
Sunday I leave for Vegas -- for most of the week. It's the national kindergarten conference. I have my sleeve & gauntlet, a compression shirt & a compression cami, too...... so I think I'm ready for the long flight.

Awhhhh Sharon!! That is the SWEETEST picture!!!!!
((((((((Shinygirl))))))))) there's not a day that goes by and I don't think about you and the kiddos. Boy, they sure go to school late, huh? Our kids will be starting back about the time yours are getting out. How long do they have a break? Or do they get a break? Did I tell you my girl will be teaching 3rd grade!!!??? She's sooooo super-excited!! That's gonne be some lucky 3rd graders. I think she will have them spoiled and I think she'll be spending her entire check on them.....LOL. I hope she learns to trim that back a little. She's just wanting it to be extra-special for them.
Hope everyone's week has started off great! It's going to be another scorcher here! Almost unbearable to step outside. I'm sooooooooo looking forward to Fall!
I guess our bunny Faithie is living it up in Vegas this week. I sure think one of us should have gone to chapperone her....lol. Or at least carry her stuff. She carries lots of stuff. I hope she's got adequate help. Have fun Faithie!! Send us some pics!!!
Big hugs to all of you!!!! Arnie---have fun with the kiddos today!
-
Good morning bunnies! I just caught up on this thread and am so happy good results are coming in.
Arnie -- I am now administering 40 lashes for forgetting your birthday. It sounds as if you had just enough time with family to enjoy them PLUS "me time." Anyway, happy, happy belated birthday. BTW, that picture you posted on bathing suites, let me know if you find a swimsuit like that (you know, that covers you from head to toes!) because I want one!
Coonie -- you are the best! I quite concur tha some of us should have gone to Vegas with Faith - who knows what trouble she could get in without us.
Sharon -- prayers for you and your DH - I hope something comes along for him that is simply fabulous.
Faith -- good for you - I saw you ride by just the other day!
To everyone else, have a wonderful day. Like Shiny, if I start a list I will forget someone. I love all of you so much I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings by not including them.
-
Oh boy.... can he pull me along too?????
Maybe in this?????
Edited to add:
Happy Belated Birthday Arnie.....Janet
-
Dream -- what a cute vehicle. How about I pick you up in this?
-
In for lunch with the kidlets..... thanks for the belated birthday wishes Dream and Kathleen. No lashes!!!! I get on here so infrequently anymore that I'm sure to miss someones.. You know how it goes the older you get the less you wanna dwell on them! ha! Love you guys...
Faithie in Las Vegas!!!! WOWSERS! Hope it's a safe and successful trip for you...
Coonie...isn't the heat exhausting???? It just zaps any energy I have right out of me...eating lunch with the kidlets and then gonna try to get some quiet time while they hopefully nap.
xoxoxo to you all,
janet
-
Hey Bunnies!!! Thinking of you all today. Hope everyone is having a wondermous Tuesday.
Yes Arnie!!!! This heat is just HORRIBLE. The heat index has been over 100 here this week, and it looks the same for the rest of the week. I'm not sure if it's my age or just WHAT, but I can hardly handle it anymore......LOL......seriously!!!
Sending our far away bunnies big hugs-------Shiny, Vivvy, Jayne !!!!!
And all our home bunnies (too many to name).......hugs to EVERYONE!!!
-
Another hot one here in Michigan too... it's not just you Coonie... I have a hard time with the "humidity"...
Hope all you dustbunnies have a wonderful Wednesday! xoxoxo
-
Hi bunnies! Just thinking about you again.
It's blazing hot here in Texas too. Miserable actually, but we are used to it. My DH and I are headed off to the Texas coast for the weekend. We went down last year this exact same weekend after I finished AC and before I started Taxol. I had no energy and had to return to the condo to nap a lot. I had no hair and it was way too hot for wigs, so I spent the weekend in scarves and hats- a first for me. I am so looking forward to the trip this weekend. I have hair. And I have energy! And I am mostly ME again!! What a difference a year makes!
And thinking about the difference between me this year and me last year made me remember all the wonderful bunnies and how you amazing ladies got me through last year. In case I never said it- thank you.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and do something you love doing. Enjoy yourselves!
Hugs!

Texasrose, hugs to you gorgous! Have a fantastic fun weekend!
Hi Barbe! Hug to you to daaaaling.
Coonie, Arnie, ohhh I remember the heat and humidity in Canada was dreadful. Here not nearly as bad.
Ohh, kiddo just up, must get the "getting to getting them to school shedule going!". My DH is here since last night for a change, so can't wait to have my coffee with him after his morning meetings (on the phone).
Am still shell shocked that the Junior school has completely ignored the request by the infant school headteacher and put my daughter in the class right next to my dear DS in an open plan module style set up. This will so impact on her. Both my kiddos are lovely (as you know!) but my girl has had to be patient caring, selfless etc, be a supporter and unaficial carer because of his special needs all her life and she should not have to be in his environment, every second of the day. She loves him to bits and is happy to see him (on her warming session) but I am very concerned for her next year, as she needed the space, and not to see hear her brother all day everyday. It's just not healthy for either kids. There, I've had my rant. Thank you as ever bunnies!!
Saw a nutritionist yesterday, to help support my heath and weight loss. Nice.
Coonie!! brilliant brilliant news about your DD!! They are going to be very very lucky kiddos!!
Faith, so sorry to still be reading your dealing with lymphodema or related issues. I notice you are not letting it slow you down too much and are out there doing what you do best! Peachy vibes coming your way.
Sorry all, we are just such a big group, I hate the bottom bit of my post as I search my feeble mind to conjur up a list that I know is likely to have at least 1 key omision, so as is my new normal-- no list!! just lotsa hugs and peachy vibes for you ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Oh Shiny, that school arrangement just doesn't make sense! It will be a distraction for both children and the entire dynamics of the room will revolve around them!!!
The other children will learn to watch your children for their reaction of every move and order by the teacher and it would very confusing for your DS to not be able to sit with your DD and of course he has to develop his own identity and she does too!
Did the teacher think she'll get a "built-in baby sitter" if DD is in the room?
That's just not right. I know you're going to fight this one to the wall!
-
Good morning Bun Buns!
Shiny ... don't you honestly think sometimes they are purposely trying to make your life more difficult than it already is! Barbe said it so eloquently. I know you will handle it with grace.
If you think its hot elsewhere, DC is known for its heat and humidity; in fact, prioir to the invention of air conditioning, if British embassy staff stayed in Washington during the summer they were given "tropical" pay! This is a beautiful lush green area - I guess nothing is free and we must pay with sweat.
Love all of you!
-
Barbe, Kathleen.. thanks for your support. It's complicated but it should have been so obvious to avoid this. To be clear thaugh, she is 1 year behind him, so they are in an open plan module of 4 classes (1 per yr) around a centre, small quarters, no doors to classes and he uses a work station in the middle bit as well as in class and is often on the joining playground doing sensory diet stuff. He has 1:1 helpers but they are not as they were in old school so she is going to see and hear and react unavoidibly to him throughout each day as is the nature of the module set up. 3 other seperate modules and they put her in his.. give me strenght! Hence why am not on boards much, been exausted by all kinds of school stuff and lots of etc etc.
By the by, if any of you are ever coming to London, give me a sign, i'd love to meet up... but I know that is a strech!!. Lush sounds great Kathleen! keep drinking the ice tea you Americans do so well.
xx hugs, love

Oh Shiny. Dearest of the Shiny-est.
I'm sitting here shaking my head on your behalf.
Surely there's still time for level heads to sort this out, listen to your heart-felt and very real concerns and come up with a different arrangement??? Surely????
Sending over hugs, encouragement by the barrel-load.
There are just times when you wanna smack your head against the wall for the way things are handled. Please refrain from so-doing. You need that brilliant head of yours to continue to wage these battles on their behalf.
Know that we are all here cheering from afar. Lifting you up as you must do battle on this issue.
I am home safely to Ohio for a bit of time with my own wonder-peeps. Must see surgeon again next week to see how my hemotoma is sorting out. They have drained it twice & perhaps won't need to again??? They will know, but that is what has necessitated this diversion from our summer heaven-get-away. Thank heavens the grandchildren are here & that I can be consoled with quality time with them.
Vegas was a combination of attempting to pace myself and live within the ramifications & restrictions that the LE has now created.
I posted a link to a little video that we shot in the booth on my last day there. This is a new song that I wrote for a curriculum developed by the company that paid for me to be out there. The gals are primarily from the Bahamas & one from Arkansas...... so we made up the name: ABC Girls: Arkansas, Bahamas & Columbus! LOL
Here's the link:
http://www.youtube.com/user/debbierainbows#p/a/u/0/wmvx5Y0ZeKI
So there I am with my flat-flat chest & my compression sleeve & gauntlet, in the 111 degree heat, but hopefully it shows that we were having fun -- no matter thelimitations.
xx00xx00xx00xx
MaryRose....... what an amazing journey -- to return a year later in a whole new frame of mind. Congrats on your continued quest toward wholeness!!!! Three cheers for you.
And you're right. I feel like I need to say thank you, over & over & over & over to this Bunny hutch of ours. Three cheers for us!!!!
-
Deb, I watched the video and LOVED it! You really got them rocking and was that a harmony that kicked in near the end????
Then I continued to read your post about the compression sleeve and I can honestly say that I didn't even notice it! I'm sure you notice it and it must be horrid in the heat and surely affects your guitar, but I gotta tell you, you looked and sounded wonderful!
-
Barbe. You made me cry.
Seriously.
What a kind thing for you to write.
The more amazing this is that I believe you, because I know that you are sincere. And that's what made me cry.
The woman who has the big vocal ending is on my original recording. She is from Ghana and is singing the words 'respected & connected' in her native Ashanti language. I just sent her a link to the film, as we are still FB buddies. Her choir had just recorded in the studio that I use & the owner was able to contract with her to sing on my little project. Quite a set of pipes. Serious talent there. That's just one more reason that I love what I get to do.
The principal of the Arkansas school came down & he is going to Skype with the Bahama school, and the young children will be international penpals as a result of the song. How cool is that?
-
Faith,
Faith and Barbe
It's 5 am.. up..bit rough. Just wanted to say, "Shame on me!" as I did see enjoy your video clip(then I rushed after the kids without writing what I thaught), and thaught and felt the same as Barbe, you did sound and look great and it was so lovely to see you in action; I had to really look for your sleeve, just cause you mentiooned it. You look and sound fabulous, and you are right "You know somethings true when you hear it from Barbe- She is a real straight shooter".
Bless you both, here's to your health!
Shiny
-
Ohhhhh Shiny!!! I just HATE to hear about the classroom situation for the kiddos. SURELY there's just something they can do????? Don't they realize the problems this will cause? Why don't you just move yourself down here to the United States.....we've got some pretty good schools (especially now since my DD is a teacher.........LOL). You'd have some extra bunny support and care, even though we all live in different states. I just wish we could fix it for you. I know you're trying your hardest to make things work for your boy. Sending you lots of hugs and prayers!!! Try not to get discouraged. ((((((((((Shiny))))))))))))
Look out Celine Dion and Cher-----------Faithie the education lady is fixing to take over!!!! LOL Great utube clip Faithie!! I can see your joy (and the others are enjoying it too).
Big hugs to all you bunnies! Hope everyone has a wondermous weekend!!!
