Jane wow just look at all your hair! I love it and have to admit to being more than a teensy bit jealous.
Kathleen and Arnie those pics really made me laugh and brightened up a dull morning.
Dream that Crazy Cake looks good and quite easy to make. I might just give it a go.
Kathleen I hope you are fully recovered from your virus now.
Coonie that video clip was seriously cute.
I haven't posted much on here recently, although I do log in most days and read the posts. It is just over a month now since I finished rads and I have been gradually getting back into some kind of exercise routine. Last week I went swimming for the first time since I started chemo in July. I had missed it and it felt great to get back in the water again. I am doing gentle yoga exercises, stretching and walking at least 30 minutes most days too. I have even done some light hand weights and used the rowing machine. I am feeling quite good again which is such a relief. I have been off work since my mastectomy. Originally my surgeon didn't want me to work just after surgery or during chemo because of the risk of infection, then my onc didn't want me going back too soon because he said I would get too tired and needed to get enough rest. Well last week I spoke to my GP doc and he wanted me to stay off for another month but I managed to get it down to a couple of weeks. Although it is great to be feeling better and have time to catch up on things I know I am ready to go back. I should say here that I work part time, 3 days a week. My hair is growing back, just not fast enough for my liking. Scalp is still visible in places. I have a few eyebrow hairs and eyelashes too. All in all I'm starting to feel human again.
I will keep coming back here because I love you bunnies. Hugs to you all. -
Coonie, that clip made my heart smile! Thanks for posting it....

Good Monday morning to all. Thanks again for the birthday wishes. Rain is here and maybe some housework will be done, maybe not... LOL. Hugs, Nancy
-
It's raining here too Nancy. Mother Nature is washing our windows. Since she is doing the housework I think I'll curl up with a book and a cup of tea.
-
Raining here too! I like the way you think Sharon...hehehehe I've gotta go for my first appt. with the radiology doc since finishing rads... Would rather not, he's not my favorite...doesn't admit that rads causes fatigue...ugh!
Your welcome Nancy!!!! Hope you had a wonderul time with your son yesterday....
Jayne! So good to see you! You just take your time and continue healing...I'm starting to exercise too... we'll see how that goes...lol
Coonie...loved the video!!!!

Good morning sweet ladies!
Happy birthdays to all whose days I missed. Haven't been around in awhile. I have been trying to get on with my life, but y'all are the one part of BC that I can't leave behind!!!
I am doing wonderful. Back to working out and eating healthy and hoping to drop a few pounds. I feel almost normal again. I think I tire a little easier than I used to, but for the most part, I have my energy back. And the hair. It's coming. Slowly. I haven't worn the wig since December. I'm totally into ballcaps now. Not my best look probably, but it works. Actually it's not that bad because I'm a jeans and t-shirts gal anyway. But I will be glad to ditch the hats too when I get to that point.
Not going to make a list- too many to send hugs to- but wanted to say Jayne I know it's slow growing, but it will be back soon! I take a weekly picture and I don't always notice the growth until I see the picture. My brows and lashes are back now although I do still use a little brow powder because my brows are light. You are in my thoughts hon! Happy hair vibes to you!!
Love and hugs to all of you! You are in my thoughts and prayers daily.
I'm off to the hospital for my monthly Zometa infusion. I'll be so glad when this becomes every three months. It gets harder and harder to go up there now that treatment is over.
The sun is shining here today. It's a beautiful day!!
-
Oh Jayne- I forgot to ask you- how did the swimming feel? Our pool is outside, so I haven't swam since summer but when I tried it last year I had definite range of motion issues with swimming. Of course, I wasn't that far out of surgery. I can't wait until this summer to get back in the pool and hopefully it will be easier. I am working out again too including light hand weights. I hope that helps!! Yesterday I took a 3-1/2 mile hike with a lot of elevation. Pretty scenery and it was GREAT to get outside!!
-
Great to see you Mary. Phew, thank goodness you weren't gone due to doing too much housework. It's wonderful to read you are getting your life back. In celebration I will not do housework for the rest of the day. Which won't be difficult since I've not done a scratch so far today. Yay for you.
Gentle hugs Dusty Buns.

Morning Dust Bunnies,
Today is Australia Day and a public holiday. You know what that means....
NO HOUSEWORK FOR ANYBODY TODAY!!!
I will be putting on my thongs ( flip flops) , having a barbeque and enjoying the sunny warm day.
So from down under I say " Onya mates, glad I met you all.
Hugs , Viv
-
Happy Australia Day Viv!
Mary it's great that you are getting your life back after treatment. Thanks for the happy hair vibes. As far as the swimming goes - I did some swimming after my surgery and before chemo and at that time I did notice a reduced range of motion, especially the first few times. Then I had to stop during chemo and rads, but I kept doing my stretching, yoga and whatever light exercise I could manage. My range of motion did improve during this time. So when I went swimming again last week for the first couple of strokes I was aware that my surgery side felt different to the other side, then after that I didn't notice it.It wasn't painful at any point, I thought it was at least partly because of my tissue expander being behind my pectoral muscle. I prefer swimming outside but I'm not brave enough to go in the outdoor pool until the weather gets a bit warmer.
-
Happy Belated Birthday, Nancy! I'm glad you had a nice time with your friends!
Happy Australia Day, Viv. Nice to see you.
Arnie, I'm so sorry for your friend. How heart-breaking.
Jane! You look mahvelous, dahling! Mary & Jayne, you'll catch up soon hair-wise! You both sound like you have waaaaay more energy than moi, but moi was stupid enough to go back to work full-time immediately after active treatment. So after running herself into the ground, has finally got the sense to work part-time. I'm a little slow...
Coonie, tres cute video.
Faith, how are ya, sweetie? Heal up fast & well.
Hi, Barbe. Hi, Sharon. Hi, Canada!
Hi, Kathleen. Hi, dream, how are you these days?
I'm sure I missed a few bunnies, but hugs to you all. Just had a stupid scare -- had blood work on Friday & my cholesterol was AWFUL! And then I realized that my doc had ordered it as an 8 hour fast, and fasting lipids are supposed to be done after a 12 hour fast....so, I just sent him a fax to tell him, which means I will have to do them over. But that's fine with me! I can NOT have cholesterol that high. I knew it had to be a mistake. Only thing is, I hate getting up to get one of those fasting blood draws when you can't even have your morning coffee!!! Horrors!!!!
xxxxoooo

Oh hey KAK...good to see your post. I'm a thanking it' bout ner time for you to get feeling better. This has just gone on for way too long......don't you think?? ((((((((((gentle hugs to you sweetie))))))) Maybe once the spring arrives, it will give us all a power jolt of electricity, stamina, energy and possitive outlooks.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed--------------cannot do housework, but we CAN cross our fingers!!! LOL
Love you all!!!
Mary Rose, it's just a matter of weeks before you decide to drop the cap. I remember when I did, most people thought I had just had one of the coolest haircuts LOL.....and anyway, not's none of their buiness away...........LOL
Jayne...so glad you're going back to work...........kinda get some kind of nomalcy back in your life. Just don't go in with too big of a bang...take it slow and easy....just so see what you're still made of
I'm sure you'll do fine.
Happy Austria Day to you Vivvy!!! E N J O Y!!!
-
If I am not too late.. HAPPY aUSTRALIA DAY, OR DAY AFTER, VIVVI!! Hope you had (or are having) a great time!!
Lovely to see you texas rose! Jayne you sound Good. Hair will grow, but in the meantime, if you fancy a wig free but cool cotton look, especially for spring, you could try www.headcovers.com. I never wore a wig but was always cold, so I wore these great light hats, with a flatering small brim in and out of the house, they looked great, are washable and they didn't cost much! Have a look and maybe treat yourself for going back to work?
Coonie, hope you are feeling better!
Arnie! aggghh, having a professional dennie Rad fatigue, bring chewing gum to help keep your mouth busy of you might just get carried away giving him "what for", not that he doesn't have it coming mind!
DS's birthday party went well last night, everyone had fun, I was very grateful for some help I had on the night, as I was getting a whole lot of pain, so wasn't up to much. I did enjoy fluffing all the kiddies's hair and seeing their cute smiles. My best moment what when DS said "you did it! "Dors mon bel ange" on the big speakers!!" Which in a word means that I got the play centre people to play his favorite french Xmass cd on the BIG speakers, so he could hear it throughout his party! That was a big deal to him! No housework for me today, DH has taken kids to school and I am staying in bed!
Faith, keep on Healing lovey!
Take care of yourselves Duntbunnies.
Shiny

Happy day Vivvy, if your city was a "dot" on that map of Australia, what would you be - a building, a person on the beach?
Mary, not sure if I want to thank you or not for getting me addicted to Farkle!!!!
I have played over 2,500 games so far....sigh. Just love it! I have played with people all over the world!
-
Morming ladies I am back.Isee belated birthday wishes are in order for Nancy and Sharon. But first i need my coffee.
-
Mum, what a delightful picture. Welcome back. Thank you for the b'day wishes.
Edit to add a pic. I'm not sure if there is the 'pic at the top of the page' rule on this thread.
DH doing the dishes.
-
That one is Hilarious.
-
But frighteningly creepy......
-
To #### with housework I am getting more cocconuts for our club.
-
Pino Coladas, anyone???......
Happy Australia Day Viv!...One day late...Hope you had fun...
Hugs and love to all my dusty bunny pals......Love you all........ -
Shiny I'm glad your DS's party went well. Sounds like he had a terrific time. Have a good rest today and I hope you soon feel better. Thanks for the hats link, I'm thinking hats could be the way to go now. I go bare headed mostly at home, but you know what the weather can be like here and my head gets too cold to go out with nothing on it. If it was summer I think I would go bare headed outside a bit sooner.
Kathi I have thought about you going back to work straight after your treatment and about the fatigue you have had; that is part of the reason I have paid attention to my docs when they told me not to go back too soon. So I have tried to learn from your experience, but I am sorry that you have experienced it in the first place for me to learn from.
Lucy it's good to see you. I'll join you in a pina colada, it's a long time since I had one of those.
Hugs to all.
-
Mummayan, the pictures are great, bursting with sunshine!! Thank you for sharing, we could all do with some more of that at the minute! Pls I missed it, where were they taken?.. I know they were not taken in Ontario! xx
Jayne, if you do order from them, make sure you call after placing your order, talk to then direct and get them to give you a posting date (asap), I loved the hats, some of which I still wear but I did find their shipping department a bit hit and miss. I wore the cotton knitt ones throughout the summer, not too hot.
Thinking of you all. Did not do anything except help a friend on the phone from my bed yesterday during school hours, just rested. DD is home with me today doing same as she is full of cold, so she's bundles up in a big blanky with her crayons. She's hardly ever sick so am being cautious, and giving her a rest. We will go pick up her "most special daughter" gold medal with ribbon award from the ingraving/trophy shop later, before picking up DS. She doesn't know about it but has always wanted a "real medal" like at the Olimpics! Well she is my little Gold medal winner that's for sure!
peachy hugs
Shiny
-
Awwwwwwwwwwww....so sorry to hear that your little one has a cold!!!! That is sooooo cute about the medal!!! I hope your feeling stronger today, Shiny. I had the grandkidlets from 7:30 a.m. yesterday until 5:30 p.m. Enjoyed them sooooooooo much but was in bed sooo early last night...lol I'm worn out today so gonna do very little...just neccessary "stuff". I have my first onocologist visit since finishing treatments so gotta get my list of questions ready. Hope you have a blessed day with dd. (We sure did enjoy those pics!!!) I saved them to my picture file so I can show my dd....she wants to see them!
Mum...love the pic! But then, I always enjoy the pics you post!
Hope Coonie's feeling better...
Love all you dustbunnies!!!
Faith...where are ya now????
-
Good morning Dusty Buns. Seems everyone here is worn out, sick, or both. Have ya'all been doing too much housework?
If Faith is going to Fla then I vote we don't do any housework until she gets back.
Shiny, what did DD think of her gold medal? What a sweet idea.
-
Mum - I don't know where you are but can I come too?!
My virus is gone - just that total equilibrium problem for a couple of days - that was scary.
Household hint of the day:
-
-
I am so sad and angry!.......I just found out our dear Watson lost her fight last night with this dreafdul beast!........It is totally unfair!!......
-
I know how you feel Lucy!! It IS unfair!!
Great pic of you MUM. Now everytime I see a coconut I think of you
Shinygirl!!! You've just gotta tell us how dearie daughter enjoyed her reward! That's soooooo special. I do that for my wee ones in my class at church for memorizing verses....You would think they were receiving thousands of dollars!!! It doesn't take much to make 'em happy!! Such unconditional love. Hope she's feeling better and you are too mummy
Maybe soon the lemonette status improve....LOL
Hugs to all you bunnies!!!!!
-
What are those bunnies chewing?
-
The pictures were taken in Cuba ladies. I vote with Sharon no housework until faith gets back from Florida. wow you are right Jane are those bunnies chewing the medicinal variety?
