Today is grass mowing day.  We'll wait until the dew dries.  It's sunny out and the temperature will rise to 80 or above but it's not humid.  Humidity makes for misery, as far as I am concerned.

Carol enjoy. My grass is beginning to die around the road and in the driveway due to 2 weeks of extended 95°+ hot weather and no rain. This normally doesn't happen until July or August. Right now I'm only asking DH to mow the areas we use frequently so the rest of my lawn on high so it doesn't die too. 8(

Rain and wind last night but all ( a bit overcast, but muted sun too ) is quiet now. I'm starting to wonder if we are going to have to access those trees that need to be down the hard way. Well, I'll wait for a bit. I hope we don't do into the feast or famine side of things. I have another job coming up for the last week of June. Then I'll stay with my cousin's little guy for three days while they are gone, on the starting the 2nd. of July. I am working a bit more than I thought I would, but I'm pretty sure there will be a quiet spell after that. There is one other person that I often have helped out but she may not go anywhere this yr.

So, later I will finish up at the Dr.'s house. We found out yesterday that my BIL is back in the hospital. He not only has the bad kidneys which he has had for a while, but the C.O.P.D. as well. On top of that is a very upset gall bladder that needs to come out. He is in ICU due to congestive heart failure so that has to be dealt with and then likely a cardiology work-up to see if he could tolerate the surgery . I think there may be some less invasive methods for the surgery but I haven't kept pace with those things. Sure hating this for him.

Hope you all have an okay day.

So true. Occasionally, a friend loans me her condo on the beach for a couple days. The condo is always immaculate. Even though she has a cleaning lady, I leave it exactly the way I found it. I look at it as a courtesy. If only I could teach some of my adult nephews and nieces the same philosophy when they stay at my house. Lol

Each moment is magical, precious and complete and will never exist again. We forget that now is the moment we are in, that the next one isn't guaranteed. And if we are blessed with another moment, any joy, creativity or wisdom it brings will ensue from the way we live in the present one. -Susan L. Taylor

    More about the present moment.

Do we need to make a special effort to enjoy the beauty of the blue sky? Do we have to practice to be able to enjoy it? No, we just enjoy it. Each second, each minute of our lives can be like this. Wherever we are, any time, we have the capacity to enjoy the sunshine, the presence of each other, even the sensation of our breathing. We don't need to go to China to enjoy the blue sky. We don't have to travel into the future to enjoy our breathing. We can be in touch with these things right now. -Thich Nhat Hanh

Enjoyed yesterday's laziness when I came home. Well, I managed yesterday like all days --- came home in the morning for coffee and got all the have-to work done before we went out for the morning and I later returned ( just a short while after the noon hr. ) to finish up the tidying chores where I was staying. It is nice to have this time to myself to ( even though there is work on the horizon ) re-charge and adjust my list of things to accomplish here.

We are awaiting possible rain that may or may not come, but the bet for me is that it likely will. This was slated to continue through the week-end -- so it is more a question of exactly when than if. I won't bother my friends until the first of the week to get paid. They are my and Dh's age and after needing to travel three different times in a month they need the rest and relaxation. They usually like to go now and then, but it has been ( too much at once ) a bit of s strain with all the graduations and going for a short period to New York. One of the Dr.'s children has a play that was nominated in I think 4 different categories for a Tony -- so he wanted them to be able to come see it. They really do need to REST and relax at home and settle back into good routines.

We don't have too much humidity at the moment, but if it rains at all and that is likely, and the sun even muted squeaks out we are going to feel it. Our weather though nice is not getting all that warm, but the above conditions can make it feel not so great -- even when in the low 80's. Here's hoping.

Hope you all have a pretty day where you are.

The moment of grace comes to us in the dynamics of any situation we walk into. It is an opportunity that God sews into the fabric of a routine situation. It is a chance to do something creative, something helpful, something healing, something that makes one unmarked spot in the world better off for our having been there. We catch it if we are people of discernment. -Lewis B. Smedes

People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child--our own two eyes. All is a miracle. -Thich Nhat Hanh

It rained last night and is still drizzling outside.  Yesterday's heat is gone.  Knit sweat pants and long-sleeved shirt feel good.  We're watching the French Open men's final.

    Happy Sunday to all.

Sitting here waiting for another rain squall. Then if fortunate we will start out Monday dry. I'm ready for dry, but I have to admit a little brief rain sometime during the day is not the worst thing. When its over that seems to be it and then we go back to fairly nice though I do worry that the humidity may come up but so far I haven't felt much of that.

So, made our little foray to Goodwill this morning. I found three ( sm., med., and lg. ) white corningware baking dishes for $1.00 each. Among the best $3.00 I've ever spent. Have to go back to Walmart since I forgot my list. Now I have plenty enough of those. My issue is I've run out of room pretty much so I'm just going to have to stop finding those 'super' bargains. Nice to be home and able to kick-back on a schedule that suits me.

Day 2 of scattered storms here... ahh so nice to have rain after hot and scorching heat!! Right now it's in the mid 80's which is also a welcome relief!!

I had my "dry" run on Friday and start radiation tomorrow...YES!! I'm quite excited to finally be on the last leg of active treatment!! My schedule show 6 weeks followed by boosts?

I hope you all are well and happy

Saturday was 90 degrees and hot enough to run the a/c.  Yesterday it was cool and windy.  This morning we're running the heat pump.  That's what I love about MN.  You don't get stuck in heat and humidity.

DH is going back to the out patient clinic this morning.  His coughing got better, then got worse again.

My number one task today is to call Walmart pharmacy and get an order in for a prescription refill.  There will have to be a transfer from Sam's Club pharmacy in Louisiana.  It usually works without too much of a glitch.  My PCP won't deal with an out of state pharmacy.

You made some good buys, Jackie.

There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer, no disease that enough love will not heal; no door that enough love will not open; no gulf that enough love will not bridge; no wall that enough love will not throw down; no sin that enough love will not redeem. . . . It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble; how hopeless the outlook; how muddled the tangle; how great the mistake. A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all. If only you could love enough you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world. -Emmet Fox

Hmmm, sounds like it is going to be pretty nice here today. I don't think any humidity for the fact it rained a bit a couple of days ago and about 78 or so. Not at all hot, and I have the windows open and it is almost 'cool' inside. No rain called for today either. A great day to get some work done. Have to visit with my BIL later who is still in the hospital. He is weak right now and I'm thinking if they are able ( they should be ) to do the gall bladder operation he may have to transfer to the local bounce back program at the nursing home before he can return home. It is always something.

Hope you are all having a beautiful day. It's time.

I just finished processing my half-pint jars of mint tea concentrate. 100% natural, direct from my garden to boiling water. Strained, jarred, processed, and ready for my hydration drink. 1/4 cup to 16 oz water, two envelopes of artificial sweetener.

Now I will go out to my garden. May go to gym later.

good grief... I went for my 1st round of Rads to find out what I thought was scar tissue is actually an infection under my skin on my Left breast. So I'm back on antibiotics again and Rads is postponed for a week but RO said we have 11 weeks from my last surgery on window to start Rada so I'm good. She also reassured me that this type of infection is common post mastectomy. I'm just really aggravated about this as "it" popped up almost overnight. I see PS,for scheduled visit on Thursday and I can't really see him before as it's the only day he does office visits as the other days he's in surgery. Please say prayers this doesn't require surgery again or drains

nanette7fl I'm so sorry about this!!! This does need to be treated aggressively. My PS said that sometimes he admits a patient and puts her on IV antibiotics in the hospital when this happens, and he said that he is seriously on it, if any infection crops up. So, watch for improvement, and advocate for have this really get solved, whatever that means. Sounds as if that is happening, for sure. Glad they caught it, and sorry about another bump in the road!

nanette- lately, you cannot catch a break, hopefully your infection will heal very quickly. The postponement must be very frustrating.

Begin and end each day with an expression of gratitude and thanksgiving. Every morning when you awake you have been given the gift of a sunrise and twenty-four hours to live. This is a precious gift. You have the wonderful opportunity to take this day and live joyously, with appreciation for everything that you encounter. Take a deep breath and be grateful for this exhilarating experience of breathing in life and love. Similarly, end your day with an expression of love, and a repetition of the word for peace, "Shalom." -Wayne Dyer

Nanette, I had healing challenges after my bmx and reconstruction back in 2009. One incision developed dead tissue and I had to go back to surgery and have the incision redone. Healing of the nipple on that side was touch and go. Eventually, after about a year, I started getting back to normal, or reached the new normal. Hang in there. New normal is ahead for you.

Appreciation is the oil that lubricates life and keeps your wheels turning easily and freely. Without appreciation, your wheels will still spin, but they are apt to become rusted with resentment and exhaustion. Since there is great truth in the well-known statement "We teach people how to treat us," you can start teaching others to shower you with appreciation by showering yourself first.

I don’t know which forum to post this in so I’ve chosen this one where I know there are many wise women! I had posted about my problems with diarrhea accompanied by abdominal pain since mid-February. I finally got in to see the gastroenterologist today. He asked me if I had radiation after my breast cancer and suggested I may have radiation enteritis. I don’t know that my radiation was aimed at my intestines but I suppose anything is possible. He’s putting me on two antibiotics for 10 days and has ordered a colonoscopy.

Has anyone heard of radiation enteritis or had any experience with it?

    Thanks.

tappermom- I have never heard of it. There are many women on these threads who are very knowledgeable about all issues associated with chemo and radiation. I'm sure one of them will respond soon. Good luck

I never heard of this either. In that way I have nothing to add, but I do find myself curious since it seems a fair amt. of time has elapsed since your dx. I hope you will soon find satisfactory answers. Hoping you are feeling much better soon.
