Children not coming home for the holidays, DD#1 BF is no longer in the picture.

I really need one for my little angel, daughter which she buys what she likes and I wrap it.No she cant open it or wear it before.

We stopped adult gift exchange, it was too much.

I need help with the tree.

Awesome day - tree is done, wreaths are done, mantel is done.  Check, check, check :)  Then, for the first time in six months (i.e. since diagnosis) I had some sushi.  Hallelujah!  DH had to go get some batteries a bit ago and brought home chocolate cream pie. He is a bad, bad man.

Tomorrow is day of rest before FIL arrives.  I will take a picture of the tree, etc. tomorrow and try to post.

    Sleep well all...

Mine always has too, Meece :)  But this year, with so many difficult things to deal with (several things in addition to BC), I have had a vacillating need for no change and total change.  I cannot predict or explain :)  While I think it looks magazine beautiful, both DH and I feel something missing so when we do our family tree in the tv room next week, we will make it all the same old stuff - something old, something new :)

We are having phenomenal rain, called the Pineapple Express.  I asked DIL since this is her first winter how she felt about the Pineapple Express and she said she hadn't seen that movie yet, was it good? We both cracked up when she and I realized what she thought I meant.

    That's cute!

I have a few trees.  One that is magazine beautiful, if I may borrow that term.  My granny tree, and then we have a"wine" tree I've been having fun with for a couple years.

OK, you got me, Pineapple Express means heavy rain not the runs or the film!

I am not familiar with the Pineapple Express.   I'll have to google it.

    Hello Allalone. Welcome.

Another Christmas party today.  Santa will be there (my dad)  and my entire dads side of the family.  We rent a hall since there are so many of us.  It's fun and the kids love it.

They call it pineapple express because warm moist air comes from the South Pacific and brings heavy rain to Northern California and the Pacific North West.

Sounds like fun, Mak.  Take it easy on the eggnog.

It's Pineapple Expressy here today too!  Imagine if it were snow!

Love the tablecloth Sheila.  It is so pretty.

Having trouble getting up the motivation to put up Christmas decorations.  Not feelin' it. Frown

I know how you feel RCG about feeling opposite ways about things at the same time.  That's what BC does to you.

I feel bad not baking goodies for the family like Deb.  But I'm fat and I will eat it all before they get a chance to get any!  Maybe next weekend if I can get a lot done on this never ending basement project.  Didn't like the color the doors ended up so now I'm trying to add another coat of a different color of stain and hoping it looks a little better.  I can't believe I can't find a color to coordinate with my floor.

Have fun at your party Linda!   Mmmmm eggnog.  What do you put in it?  Brandy?  Gotta get some.  I'm such a lush lately!

Chris - I really had a hard time decorating this year - my two friends came over to motivate me - I just had to get everything out and watch them while talking and laughing.  It helped so much and I never would have let this happen before.

Mmmmm, eggnog.  Haven't had any in ages but maybe I should.a

Do you have a piece of floring you can take to the paint store?  I have had great luck with that and they love to show off what they can do.

I have a small tree that my Mom decorated with all pink trimmings, I put that in the bay window in the living room, then I put up my prelit tree in the family room which is my avatar right now.

Pretty tree, Deb.  While I was staining, my family started putting our tree up.  So that's on it's way.

Glad to hear you had a good time at your party, Linda.

RCG  - have asked the paint store for some tips, but they didn't offer to mix stain they way they can mix paint - not sure they can do that.  The different pieces of wood take the stain differently.  The trim sample I used took the stain the way I wanted it, but the doors took it a little orangey.  Not thrilled with it.  I definitely will be asking them to help me pick a color for my bathroom.  Another project that was started a long time ago and never finished.  I bought a shower curtain that I liked.  I found some towels to match the blue in it that I like.  But I'm not sure what color I can get away with for the walls.  It's a small room- don't want to go too dark.  I am not domestically inclined.

I'm glad your friends helped you decorate.  It's great to have friends like that.

Wish I had something to put in some egg nog.

I am trying not to be a downer or ruining everybody's xmas....but can't get into it.

Nice pic, Linda.  It looks like you all had a really nice time.

I'm glad the wind is gone.  It was pretty wicked yesterday.  Feels like spring out there now.

Tree is up with lights and garland.  Couldn't get up the motivation to put all the decorations on.

I still have several boxes of decorations on the back patio.  It could take another week before I am motivated enough to put them out.
