that is a beautiful memory, M360. Thanks for sharing.
If only Abraham Lincoln had not been assassinated, the whole country might have been a better place for all these last 150 years. (I am reading a book about Lincoln at the moment).
And if only this event in history could have also turned out differently.....
-
that President John F Kennedy had lived a very long life (50 years ago this November he was assassinated)
The book I really liked my mom to read to me at night was.... -
My children liked Where the Wild Things Are. I don't remember my mom reading to me but I always loved reading Heidi.
My earliest memory is of......................................
-
Playing on the braided rug with a little cermanic worm (a flower pot decoration, I suppose) that I had taken a fancy to and named Charlie Oscar (yes, I must have been a weird child!).
When President Kennedy was assassinated....
2nd, my in-laws wedding anniversary and niece's birthday are on November 22....so I can't forget that date, for sure. That's another event that changed the course of history for the worse!
-
...I had just turned one year old. My parents and I had to pull over on a highway or street just a short few weeks before he was assassinated to allow JFK' s motorcade to pass by. I always feel a bit grateful for JFK. I was born in Miami, FL. during the Cuban Missile Crisis and credit Kennedy for keeping things together.
Sometimes I wonder... -
what the grand scheme of all this is....lots of it doesn't make much sense to me!
When I was young, I wondered......
(neat thoughts about JFK, I think he moved the country forward in many ways)

When he was awake, I was making meals to accommodate his Dr's instructions, running errands for him, listening to him complain...)
The cutest present I ever received from my kids or grand kids was...... -
a silver heart charm/locket for Mother's Day this year. My oldest bought it...it is a heart-shaped locket "cage". The clasp is two "heads" with arms (representing parents) wrapped around to a heart shape. Inside are 4 tiny birthstone for each of my 4 children.
The one food I could eat more than once a week.... -

Momcat, here's the recipe ~ yummy!
3 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
1 bunch kale, washed, stemmed and torn into bite size pieces
1 cup vegetable broth
1 tomato, peeled and chopped
1 cup chickpeas
1 cup corn kernels, optional
Basmati brown rice, cooked
Sauté the garlic in olive oil for a minute (watch closely, garlic burns easily). Add the kale and stir until it starts to wilt. Dig a hole in the middle and put the tomato in there. Put a lid on it and let it cook until the tomato starts breaking down (5 minutes or so). Add the broth and chickpeas on put the lid back on for approx. 10 minutes. Stir together and, if used, add the corn for color & crunch. Serve over basmati brown rice.
