I love all vegetables, but lately I've really been enjoying spinach.

usually chicken or fish.....but I do still love a very occasional steak

"I really need a new"..................pair of brown/beige (summery) shoes to wear with work outfits. But I hate, hate, hate shoe shopping - I have long narrow feet (10-1/2AAA) and usually have to choose a shoe that actually fits rather than one I "love". Ugh.
If I could magically change 3 physical things about myself it would be.................................

Last night for dinner I had.....

Greek food. We went to the a Greek fest and I had bbq lamb, chicken, rice and salad. No breads or spanikopita because we are gluten-free....we also had a nice Greek wine to accompany our dinner.
Assassinated leaders: If you could have prevented it, who's (whom's?) assassination would you stop and why? (I'm reading 11/22/63...can you tell?)
(fitz - I am the opposite...I think I look older (wrinkled skin) but I know I feel much younger and have more energy than most ladies my age.)

I really wish Abrabam Lincoln would not have gone to the theater that night......I believe he was the only person who had the strength and wisdom to really reconcile the country after the Civil War.
Another great leader who died way too young is.....

Martin Luther King.....he was a great man doing great things.
(Ruth...totally agree on AL.....the country would have greatly benefited with this man at the helm to heal the wounds of the civil war rather than faltering with an inept Johnson who allowed the malcontents in congress to run rough shod over the south)
If I could write a thank you note to one mentor from my youth, that person would be..... because......

My second grade teacher who made learning come alive. (I have already had the honor of thanking my college advisor, who did the same thing.)
Wellwater, too bad we can't get together and talk about great historical things. I went to a seminar about AL and asked one of the Lincoln scholars whom would have been a better choice for VP in 1864. His response was, "Pick any name in the phone book."

Vicksburg, MS....this city was held under siege for 40+ days in 1863 and still bears scars. July 4th was not recognized as a holiday there until the 1960's. We stayed in several restored antebellum homes one of which had been converted into a hospital for the blue and gray during the siege and one which still has a cannonball lodged in the wall. I could go on and on....
(Ruth I agree! I am still down in the dumps about having to miss the Chicago get-together - I"d love to spend some time in conversation with you!)

This might sound a little strange but a gal I golf with used to travel with a missionary group to countries in South America...she and her husband would go in January or February and rent an inexpensive house/condo near the beach....they would spend 3/4 days a week working on a new school or hospital being built...he would do construction work, she would teach English or help in a hospital. Then they would take the other days in the week to explore and enjoy the area. It was their way of "snowbirding". I would love to spend a month or two doing something like this.
Since I can't go somewhere for a month quite yet, I'd like to plan a one-week vacation to...

a Caribbean cruise. I love the caribbean and enjoy cruising on occasion. Right now I'm really up for spending a week doing no cooking, no cleaning, no commuting and swimming at a beach on a different island every few days.

DH is taking a week off and actually getting some things done around the house!
(Yep, 6th month checkup next week. Gulp!......I wish there was more I could do besides just saying that I'm sorry!)
