yuck Bethie. Take care of yourself!!!

(((Bethie)))
Hey Judy, I am planning on coming to MI at the beginning of August to see family. My husband's parents are in Bloomfield Hills and my parents are in Saginaw. It would be awesome to get together! What do you think? I still need to ask for time off work. I'm not sure if I have enough PDO since I used so much during chemo. Tomorrow I will talk to the person who does the scheduling at work.
Hugs to all Furies!

KerryMac....
I just posted in the Canadian Forum about my experience with Lands End Bathing Suits. I love mine and right now am using shoulder pads in one and a bath scrubby in the other suit. so far so good. Check them out on-line and if you order from within the Sears store, there is no shipping cost. Good Luck and hope our strike doesn't last long. Good to hear all going well for you at Sunnybrook. Will you be there July 5? I have doc appt at 9:30 so will look out for you in rads!
-
Well, everyone....Thursday is my last chemo day....hard to believe it is here--my dd and I made goodie bags for the staff and all my new chemo friends. Also I am making our family favorite death by chocolate dessert...Thanks for all your support--you all rock!
-
death by chocolate
YES!
congrats living4today
-
living4today - a big whoohoo for you today! You did it.
thisisme - lovely to hear from you!! How are you doing? Hope you are coping in this heat, and with the stinky strike! I checked out the Lands End web site yesterday, think I will buy something. I am usually at Sunnybrook in the mornings, my appts are usually between 8:00 and 9:00. I will let you know closer to the time what my time is for July 6th, it would be great to hook up. My last one is July 8th.
Bethie - hugs to you - hopefully the antibiotics will put a lid on things.
Have a great day everyone!
-
whoohoo living4 is done today!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
OOOOORAHHHH!!!! Congrats! May the healing begin!
-
WHHHHOOOO Living 4 today
May your last crash be an easy one. Don't forget to do your pole dance today......
-
living4today: Congrats! Imagine us all there in spirit, dancing around your IV pole, foobies bouncing with the bumps and grinds! Apologize for the trail of feathers we leave behind from our boas.
Bethie! Take care of yourself or you'll end up in the hospital like I did with pneumonia! I'm still achy from it even though I got out of the hospital Friday. Do you feel achy and fatigued too?
Michelle: I'm still doing the happy dance for your clear scans!
-
Linda~ I'm still dancing too!!!
Clean scans is even better than the end of chemo!!
-
Okay all thru chemo. I didn't throw up FIRST day on the clodronat bone trial medicine (Michele I'm on the same one as you) and I throw up...grrr... I followed all of the directions but I did have cereal 1 1/2 hours after taking it and I was putting on make up and then realized I was getting sick THEN. Grrr.... I felt better almost immediately the worst part was I had just had my calcium for the day and my mulit-vit. I sure hope this isn't a daily thing and it can stop now.
Off to clean my house (well do something). I found out yesterday that we might not be going to Fl. my MIL asked us not to bring our dogs and we can't find a dog sitter
. So unless something changes we will not be going and I have been looking forward to the beach forever. Oh well if we don't go to Fl. we are going to the beaches in Delaware (which IMO are NOT the same). I wanted warm water beaches but I can't do anything about it.
Still feeling a little better each day with a couple of set backs. My hair looks the same but I can see the outline of what will be my hairline and I have TONS of new white hair starting
-
Yay for the end of chemo, living4today!!! *happy dance* Now, pass me some of that Death By Chocolate...*nom, nom, nom*
Hugs to all,
Artemis -
congrats living4today!!!!!
yeah jamie for some new hair! it's going to start to come in like wildfire now!
-
Susan have you ditched the wig yet ?? I saw your hair in the other thread and I am no where even in the ballpark with you.
-
YAY for hairlines! BOO for puking! May it be the last puke and the FAST jump start to hair growth!
Hanging in there. My nipple cracked this morning in the shower, but today was the last time they hit that part of it. Nine boosts to go and I am DONE! On to ooph and AI's...
-
Hey Webbie - when are you having your ooph? I'm all booked for July 28th. We're going to be finishing Rads about the same time - I have 8 more left.
Jaimie - I can't believe you puked! I hope it was a one off thing, sounds ;like no fun. Especially if you have to have it every day....Keep up the hair growth, girl! I am toying with the idea of going topless, i am still really short, but it is getting so jolly hot.
Sue - just checked out your blog - you are getting hairy!
We just had a massive thunderstorm - it got super dark and ominous. Just picked my daughter up from her last day at school! Guess it is officially Summer.
-
Jaimie~ What instructions did they give you??? Mine said nothing other than to stay upright for 30 min after taking it... I haven't been sick from it at all. go figure.
Sue~ Going to your blog to look. Are you going topless yet??
I want an ooph!!!! They won't cause I'm not ER+. <grumble, grumble>
-
Oh Michele you don't want an ooph. Have you been BRCA tested ?? Mine came with instructions not to eat for an hour after I take them, take with a glass of water, DO NOT TAKE WITH MILK, and stay upright for an hour.
Kerry~ Ditch the wig and go topless you look great. Sport you new do with pride (remind me of this when I finally have some coverage).
Webbie~ Wooohhhooo for only having boost left. May you nipple survive without anymore cracking. BTW, jealous you still have nipples. (now I sound like a prev....)
-
Oh heck, Jamieh; I hope your throwing up was just a one time thing! And yay for getting some hair!
My hair is starting to come in. I have a nice crop of peach fuzz all over.
-
Yeah, I'm jealous you have TWO nipples. Actually, that reminds me of something on my Pathology report. It said "one unremarkable nipple." Caused us quite a giggle (there wasn't much else laughable in it though!) I was quite fond of that nipple, my husband thought it was fairly remarkable!!
Michelle - Jaimie is right - you don't need an ooph! I don't want one really either, but think it is the best course for me. I am hoping the Surgery is easy.
I might just go get Rads tomorrow topless. If there is anywhere to try out the bald cancergirl look it is at a cencer centre...! If only my ears didn't stick out so much. AND I look too much like myDad!
-
Artemis - you really have to take us a photo...
-
Has anyone been BRAC tested? I was turned down - too old (ha!) and no other family history. I guess my daughter can decide if she wants it when she is older.
-
Okay Kerry I just read you were going to Rads topless and my mind went to oh wow Kerry is going without a shirt on....lol.... Took me a minute.... I'm sure you can tell what color my hair really is...lol....I hear you on the remarkable nipple thing also.....
Artems~ We want pictures
-
Oh, yeah, ha ha, topless! Now if i did that, i am sure NO-ONE would be looking at my hair!
-
Kerry-I had the BRCA gene testing done and it was approved by my insurance company cause I listed having an Uncle with BC. If it wasn't for that supposedly they wouldn't have paid for it ($3500). What I find strange is that they just take your word for it, you don't need any sort of proof or anything.....???
-
Bah! I'm trying to take a photo, but the hair so light it's just not working. Grrrr.... Maybe when it gets a bit longer, it'll work better.
I can show what it used to look like, though. This is a picture of me with my son at an Atlanta Falcons game. It was taken December 14th just before all hell broke loose the week after Christmas. I feel odd when I see it. It's as if it's the line of demarcation between "normal" and "cancer". Anyway, here it is:Pardon my wonky bangs; they were too long to begin with, and there was much jumping and cheering, so there ya go.
(I wonder if it will ever get that long again?)
Hugs to all,
Artemis -
Oh, you look so lovely! Great to put a face to a name. Funny, for some reason I pictured you with shorter, black hair. ( well, of course now I picture you bald, but you get my drift)
I feel the same about photos taken just before Dx. I envy my old carefreeness....
-
Aw, thanks, Kerry. And oh my goodness, I've had my hair nearly every length and every color including short and black!
Until about 2001, it was slightly longer than that pic and it was very blonde. I'd like to be blonde again; maybe then I'll have more fun.
I've not had BRCA testing. If they don't take you due to no family history, I guess that disqualifies me, too.
-
Artemis, your lovely smile is just as I imagined it!
I had BRCA testing. My Onco ordered it, after I requested it, on the grounds that I didn't have enough living female relatives to prove or disprove family history. Grandparents gone at young ages, only one aunt and no sisters. It worked. I felt it was important NOT to test my daughter because I don't want her on some list somewhere for genetic screening. I may be paranoid, but I don't like the power insurance companies, for one, already have. In my case, since I was already DX'd, I'm on their lists anyway. My Onco was awesome and pushed it through. He did the same thing with my OncoType test.
