I could also do with getting a good drunk on. I haven't been drunk in about 3 years....ahhhhh...I think I still have memories of the hangover the next day...heheh...
I went and got my flu shot...oh the fun
Apple~ Thank you for the birthday wishes.
My pain in my chest resolved by yesterday afternoon so I am thrilled about that. Now I just have to go back to my PS and get the drain out next week and hope I do not fill up anymore.
My kids are still not ready for halloween. I think my son is going to be goofy but my daughter still is saying that she wants me to make her costume. I can see it now I will be putting something together on Saturday....oh the joys.
-
Okay just in case the flu shot wasn't enough I managed for get a H1N1 vaccine today. I went to my neice's appt. (3d sonogram...sooooo cool) and the hospital that my sister works at was giving h1n1 shots to family members. So I got my shot and my poor left arm is REALLY sore. My son was with me and he got the mist but it took me and my sister to hold him down. Now I just need to get my daughter her shots and then they both need the regular flu shot. Oh the joys.
-
Apple-- Your hair looks awesome!!!
Kerry--TOO FUNNY! Let's all get a happy hour going!! I need a buzz!! **Passing out virtual cocktails to my girls**** Let's drink up
-
I It's 5 o'clock somewhere!
-
Jaimie - Glad to hear you are all vaccinated. they are rolling out here this week for "at risk' people, then everyone next week. Not sure yet if we wil have iot - I actually think Angus has already had the flu.
Nice to see Helen and Beth popping in! Yep, pass me a cocktail - I know it is only 6:30, but hey....
Have a great day everyone.
-
I have been exhausted today and I couldn't figure out why until this evening and then it hit me about the vaccinations. Duuuhhhh
Ah Kerry a drink is good anytime
Well I called NOLA today and I am a candidate for lower lumbar gap or sgap so now i just wait to see what the insurance company has to say about it. I should hear from someone by tomorrow about how many thousands it is going to cost me...:(
-
Belated BD wish Jamie.
Kerry - Cheers to 50 + years of good health! I got the cancer phone call at work. It was a Friday afternoon. I told my boss the news, packed up my desk and drove to the liquor store! It is actually 5 o'clock in Wpg so cheers to all!!!!
Happy Halloween
Bev
-
Thanks Bev
The memories of getting the phone call or going into the office are horrible. I haven't hit it yet but I am going to do my best to be grateful that I am here. My phone call was on Christmas Eve
Got the insurance quote from NOLA and it is high not as bad as I tought BUT still more $ than what I have. Now to convince my insurance company that the best place for me to go is there and get my out of pocket down to a reasonable rate.
-
Man, Christmas Eve...really?? That is so awful.
I got a phone call to say my mammo was "suspicious for cancer", but the "It's cancer" was to my face.
Hope you can get your insurance to come to the party!
-
I'd love to get drunk, lol, but it's just not worth it the next day anymore....when I got DCIS back in 2004, and went through rads (no chemo then), I went through some weird reaction to the whole bc thing....went out almost every weekend, partying, watching bands, even got so drunk one night I barfed in the parking lot. It wasn't really like me, but something just took over. I didn't go through that this time around.
Jaimie: I hope the drain will put an end to your fluid problems for good. My son doesn't know what to be for Halloween either...it will be last-minute for him, too...I've been too tied up all week to even buy the halloween candy..
Apple: I'm sorry to hear about your friend....it's been a tough year for you...big hugs
Julia is still in the hospital, still having pain. She can barely get up and walk. Not sure if she comes home tomorrow or not. Tomorrow morning I have to take my other daughter to a different hospital for her colonoscopy/endoscopy...her first time having a procedure that involves anesthesia, so she's nervous. I'll be driving all over the place tomorrow....again....
I had another bout of vertigo this morning....I was nauseous last night, then this morning had so much dizziness and nausea. Plus my sinuses were terrible. After a nap, I felt a bit better. I still feel yucky though. So I'm going to bed early tonight.
-
Yeah Kerry it was 12:32 pm on Christmas Eve that my world flipped upside down. We were making cookies when I got the call and all the radiologist kept doing was saying I am so sorry to tell you this.... I was hosting Christmas day and forgot and couldn't find half of the gifts it was BAD, Bad, Bad..... This year is going to be AWESOME!!!!
Goofy costume is done ....whooo... just in time for tomorrow's Party. Baby girl has decided that she is going to be the pink princess and she loves it
Insurance is gonna get drug to the party they maybe fighting and screaming but I am going to get them to see my way. I used to do appeals for Johns Hopkins for high dollar surgeries so I just need to put my mind to this and get the price down....
Judy~ You so need a break. I hope everything goes well tomorrow and things start to look up.
-
Jaimie - you would think they could wait two days at least to tell you....did you have to break the news to all your family as well? I can't even imagine. I think I was in a state of shock for at least two weeks, and then it hit me. I remember going to the grocery store and I kept banging into people, I was so spacey. I also remember telling Emilys teacher, and she stepped back like I had hit her. It was awful. My parents I had to leave a voice mail for. At least by Christmas I had had my Surgery and was a bit more even keeled. But, yep, you are so right - this year is going to be AWESOME!!
I did pumpkin carving at Jacks class yesterday, and he got to wear his costume to our Library programme. Then today both kids have parties at school, and tomorrow is the big day! Much excitement - I'm just hoping it doesn't rain (it is supposed to) I have one Princess and one Black spiderman (red Spiderman was soooo last year!) We never had Halloween when i was growing up, it took me a while to get the hang of it.
And, who has started eating their Trick or Treat candy??
-
Judy - hope things keep improving and Julia is home for the weekend.
-
Good morning girls. No dizziness this morning, yay! I went to bed 'early' last night, so I feel a bit better today.
Jaimie: I am so sorry you went through that on christmas, I agree with Kerry, they could've waited a couple of days. I hope you have the best christmas ever this year!
Kerry: I haven't even bought the halloween candy yet, I'm so behind this week...just realized this morning that we haven't got a pumpkin yet, yikes...so we're gonna pick one up after school today, and carve it tonight. It's raining here--lightly--but it's warm out, so that's not too bad a trade-off.
I hope Julia feels better today so she can come home. I know she wants to come home so badly, but I worry that she is still in pain, and would rather know she's safe at the hospital.
Gotta get ready to go to Michelle's appt...she did really well with the prep for the colonoscopy, I was surprised she took it so well, lol. Hugs!
-
Judy, hope it goes well with Michelle today. You guys really need a break.
The great thing about Halloween being on a Saturday is you have plenty of time tomorrow to get organised!
-
I found my lump on Christmas day. Mammogram and US on 12/29 where the radiologist told me that he'd be "staggered" if it weren't cancer. Went straight to the surgeon that afternoon and was told the same thing. Makes me sick to think about it... The biopsy was the next day but I already knew... Found out the 31st that I was ER- and likely TN. I am DETERMINED to make this holiday season PERFECT. However, I'm already getting anxious about it all...
Judy~ Been thinking about Julia lots. Hope she's feeling better today. Good luck to Michelle!
Kerry~ We want pictures!!
-
omgosh.. it's Halloween tomorrow?
eeks
-
((Bighugs)) Michele I know I feel exactly the same way. This year is going to be awesome!!
My radiologist could have waited but I was able to get my MRI for the day after Christmas since I found out on Christmas Eve. I knew from the look on her face that it was not going to be good news. I am going to look at it as it is more reason to celebrate the season because I am still here
.
Judy~ Glad to hear that the vertigo is leaving you alone. I have heard about the prep for the colonoscopy and it doesn't sound too fun.
Halloween parade DONE
Now just gotta get thru tomorrow
-
I have not gotten halloween candy yet because it is too tempting to eat! I got a costume for a party on Saturday night. I am dressing up as Cleopatra. That way I can wear my wig that I never wore when I didn't have hair!
The H1N1 flu is in our area with full force. I got an urgent email from work. Our hospital is very full with flu patients and staff out with the flu, too! They are desperate for people to work this weekend. I'm going to help on Sunday.
Judy, I hope both Michelle and Julia are home now and doing OK.
Jaimieh, how is your drain doing?
My onc called me today to ask how I'm doing. I got the message and will call her back. I want to talk to her about my aching that seems to be getting more frequent. I'll let you know what she says. -
Oh Cheryl I am draining pretty good. I seemed to have eliminated one seroma this morning (I felt a pop) while I was pushing on my chest. I am so ready for this to stop it hurts. Not sure if there is anything I can do to eliminate the seromas.
I was bad we are not going to be home so I didn't buy any candy. I would put it out on our porch but the neighborhood little chunk comes early and takes all of the candy. Sad I tell you.....
I am so ache I hope it goes away soon. I actually believe it is from the flu shots that I got the other day. Going to go hit the aleve and hope that it helps.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
-
Happy Halloween from me too! Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow
-
Well, Michelle's procedures didn't go so well...they used a twilight, and alot of it, lol...but still she fought against the endoscope going down her throat....so she only had the colonoscopy done today. Her recovery took forever, she was really out of it, had alot of gas pain, and just wouldn't stay awake. She cried alot, was throwing up....I don't think Fentenyl agrees with her at all.
Julia still in hospital....I am heading down there soon so she won't be alone tonight. It should be interesting driving into Detroit, in the dark, on Devil's Night. They used to have a terrible time with devil's night downtown, but they really have gotten it under control over the last 10 years. As long as my car doesn't break down, I should be ok. I'll admit though that I am a bit nervous. But they may be testing the feeding tube tonight, and she is afraid it will hurt alot, so I want to be there for her.
So the Halloween shopping will wait until tomorrow...nothing like waiting til the last minute. You all have a great day tomorrow.
-
Well my husband was going to help me post a picture and I said that I wanted to get rid of my avatar and put on a new one also and being the computer whiz he is, now I don't have any pictures at all. GRRRRRRR!
Judy, I am so sorry your girls are having so many problems. You are an inspiration...have so much going on and seem to deal with it so well. You always have hugs for others and are worrying about getting your candy for the trick or treaters.
-
Judy~ Keep at it you are going to get a break soon. You have too. ((bighugs))
Another party down just TorT tomorrow....whooo....!!!
-
Judy - hope things are looking better today!
Happy Halloween everyone!
-
Happy Halloween girls!
Oh Mary, computers can be so frustrating sometimes, I take it your hubby isn't really a computer whiz at all. lol....do you think you can fix your picture situation???
So Michelle seems to be feeling much better, we were laughing about her behavior as she was coming out of the sedative...she doesn't remember a darned thing!
I didn't go to the hospital last night...the thought of breaking down in Detroit on devils night was too scary, so we agreed I'd stay home. They are going to attempt to use Julia's feeding tube today. I gotta get my butt up to the hospital, but hubby's car is broke down, and he has my van right now...ugh, I hope he gets his fixed by Monday, or I'll be car-less. Hopefully the feeding goes ok and she can come home.
So I'm gonna go make some fake blood for my son's zombie costume, Michelle sent me some recipes online, and it doesn't look too hard to do.
-
gosh Judy..it never seems to end for you.. hang in there.
-
Hi Everyone - All around, I think 2009 has been full of challenges for all of us!!! And, many of us had so many things to deal with on top of BC. Better things must be ahead for all of us in 2010.
I bought the Halloween treats last minute and did not get a chance to do any snacking good thing. Almost ran out. 91 little goblins this year. Would love to see Halloween photos.
Can't sleep tonight. Been awake for most of it. Had a stupid time change last night (day light saving time). Hopefully will get some sleep soon.
Judy, Apple and Jamie - There is a light at the end of this tunnel.
Bev
-
Bev - I
forgot aboiut the time change! wow, now it is an hour earlier than I thought.....
Photo of my guys from last night! Busy, busy night, even though it was cold and windy (nice and spooky though!) We got over 150 kids!!
-
KerryMac, So cute. The little spider's smile tells it all. I used to just love trick or treating and my mother always made us the neatest costumes. I didn't always appreciate them when I was smaller, wanted pretty store bought ones, but she really came up with some creative things. One year I was a Grandfather clock...my face was behind a cut out paper plate made to look like a clock face. I won a prize that year. One year my sister and I were Heckle and Jeckle..We bought the masks, but for the costume intself, .she sewed black crepe paper feathers onto long underwear....it rained and the black from the crepe paper ran all over the place. LOL. I have not changed the clocks yet so am on my usual time schedule.
Judy, How are you today?
