Ohhhhhh, Shirley--that cake sounds (and looks) fabulous!

The first time I ever tasted hummingbird cake was at an old-time wedding reception half a dozen years ago.  I kept looking for tiny feathers, but didn't find any.

I'm gonna try your recipe.  Thanks!

That poor pup.  What we do to/with our animals.  And they just sit and and "take it."  Instead of a Christmas tree (we're not putting one up cuz we're not gonna be here anyway) I think I'll string lights on all four of my cats.  Oh, forgot.  Cats are as "tame" as doggies.  Cats have a mind of their own!

    LOVE THE PIC, SUMMER.

Yeah, Roctobermom, Drama Mamafits me much better!   Or, Drama Mimi.  I act very dramatic for my grandchildren.  I "act out." LOL  I even play the part of Miss Hanegan (sp...Carol Burnett  a in Annie).  LOL  And sometimes when one my little "only" three year old grandson throws his temper tantrum and I later speak to him about it I tell him how he should have reacted and show him how he DID react and he laughs..LOL  You should see this drama Mimi jumping up and down and wailing..lol  That's pretty dramatic and it feels like an earthquake INSIDE my house.

Otter, bake the cake and share it!  It is good, moist and easy.  I only put half of it out for Christmas.  I baked it ahead of time, put it in the freezer with no wrap for a little while until the icing got "set" then I took it out of the freezer, cut it in half and froze it that way..and Oh, I did "wrap" it in foil.  Is that sentence long enought for you?  Laughing
