The Lord told Solomon "ask for anything & I'll give to u". Solomon asked for a heart that would know & choose right over wrong. God said "since you didn't ask for riches for urself or defeat of ur enemies, I'll give what u asked for PLUS what u didn't ask for - riches & honor & long life." (1 Kings 3:5-14). I pray everyday for Jesus to help me to choose right even tho wrong may feel better @ that moment. This is how I know He will meet all my needs, even those I didn't know about.

Gifts may get u there but character is what keeps u there. 2 Tim 1:7 "For God did not give us the Spirit of fear but of power & love & self-control" (teacings from J Meyer)

In midst of issues, focus on how its building u up & increasing ur faith. Then u won't miss God when He shows up. 1 Pet 1:13 "get ur mind ready for action by being sober (not bogged down w/ hopeless thots) & set ur hope completely on the grace that comes When Christ Jesus is revealed (in the situation)"

"the devil can't control a patient person" J Meyer

James 1:2-4 "is life full of difficulties & temptation ? Then be happy for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. Don't try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in bloom, then you're ready for anything, strong in character, full & complete. "

(Num 13:27-14:9) 2 groups of peops in same situation see the same 3 things: milk, honey, & giants. 1 group focus only on giants. Result: feel helpless & give up; Other group focus on Gods promise of the milk & honey. Result: defeated giants & got the milk & honey!!!!!

"It is wonderful country ahead & Lord loves us. He will bring us safely into the land & give to us."

Don't focus on "giants"; focus only on "milk & honey"

Moody - I am so glad you are doing this!  Just know that you are being obedient to God and when you are second-guessing yourself remember that "in all things God works for the good of those who love Him."  Even if you make a mistake or wish later you hadn't said a particular thing in a particular way that God is SO big that he will redeem it and it will be for Good!  Another book that you ladies might be interested in reading is call Lineage of Grace - it's about all the women that are mentioned in the Bible that are in Jesus' lineage.  It is really amazing - AND it has study questions at the end of each woman's story.  The author, Francine Rivers, takes the stories from the Bible and expands on them.  She also gives the Bible references so that you can read the actual story for yourself so you know what she has added.  She only adds things to make you understand the culture and the importance of certain rituals of that day and things like that.  IT IS SO GOOD!  Another GREAT study for the 'Biblically Challenged' :P is Covenant by Kay Arthur.  It is pretty intense though, with 5 days of homework each week and I think it's an 8 week study.  What i love though is that it takes you through the OT and really shows you how the whole Bible is connected through the covenants that were made.
