Anyone starting chemo in Aug. 08?

Gail, I'll be praying for you & for your results to B9!
-
Jeannine~ Thanks for asking about my mom. She will be starting treatment soon but other than that she seems to be healing pretty well doc says. Hope your doing good.
Gail~ Nobody knows what we are feeling or what our gut is telling us. So glad that you pushed them to listen to you. Just know that we are here for you at this scary waiting period. Waiting is the worst. Keep up the faith and keep thinking positive thoughts so those vibes can bounce back on you. Keep us posted.

Thanks so much for the sweet support! I really can feel the difference knowing you are all out there while I wait for the results. Hard to believe the ultrasound showed both endometrial abnormality and a complex cyst in the ovary, and they say they are unrelated! I'll go to a pulmonary specialist about the lung damage. From what I've read, it could be damage from chemo. I've only had 16 radiation treatments so don't know if that could cause lung problems so soon. This week was a record - at least TWO doctor appts. or tests or treatments EVERY day. I won't stop till I've explored every possibility and explanation. Just so you know - when the CAT scan showed nothing - the ultrasound revealed it ALL! That will be part of my on going checkup.
Best to your Mom, Karen, and thanks so much for the prayers Hood!
Hugs to all

Gail, I just stopped to pray for you. Hope everything turns out ok
Today Tom took me to my PCP, who gave me pain meds after checking out my heart with an EKG(normal). This afternoon I went to my chiropractor, who gently massaged my neck and low back into place. Between the two, I am feeling much better. I just put in a gentle mile on the treadmill and took a long shower with our new shower massage. Feeling very relaxed!
I am 1/4 done with rads. Tx # 7 today.

Gail, my prayers are with you. Tears filled my eyes when I read this. I'm so proud of you for being so strong in your dx. I wish I could be more like that. Keep up your strength and take care!

Gail, Sometimes raidaiton can cause lung problems. I had that happen. Both my lungs had fluid in them 15 days after I started radiation. I have a friend that had complicated cysts in ber ovaries just last month. Everything came out fine. Someone told me that if they are cysts they could be cancer but not likely. I had an abnormal growth in my other breast and was so excited when in a needle biopsy it just burst. Tears of joy came down everyones face!! Gail, I know how you feel - this is so nerve racking!! We are all with you and are steadfastly praying for you!!

Dearest friends,
Thank you all so much for the wonderful thoughts and support. I'm still waiting for results from the biopsy, looking for a pulmonary specialist and an ONC-GYN. I felt I had a handle on the breast cancer world - and now I'm studying lungs and ovaries!
The thing that makes me so angry is that I've been in abdominal pain for over 3 months and NO DOCTOR OR ONC EVER SUGGESTED I LOOK AT OVARY PROBLEMS! They all said take some Motrin, or said I had a hernia, I even stopped taking Arimidex to see if it was that, which was giving me NO side effects. I had to insist on the ultrasound. I hope to get results soon from the endometrial biopsy. I read a lot about the biopsy procedure being so painful - I thought about backing out! But it was quick & really wasn't THAT bad (OK, it wasn't fun) but I guess many of those scary articles were written by women who haven't gotten through breast cancer!
The more I read, the more I know we all have to be super vigilant and aware. I was telling my wonderful DH, the difference now is a have a great team of women to virtually hold me in their thoughts that I didn't have last June when this all began.
Thank you all so much,
Gail

Gail ~ I've been thinking about you all weekend, praying for B9 results from your biopsy. Hopefully, the doctor who alarmed you with the worst-scenario possibilities was being way too overly zealous, and your results will be the same as Corinne's friend -- totally B9. Please call me as soon as you hear something, or anytime you want to talk.
Corinne ~ I'm so glad whatever was in your breast turned out to be nothing. Was that something new, or something you'd told us about earlier? (Sorry, but I don't want to go back several pages to try figure it out in the middle of this post.)
Cute new avatar, Joyce! Is that your daughter? Is she getting married this year? (I'm thinking she is, but if I'm wrong, blame it on chemo brain!)
For those of you on Facebook, how's Stacy doing? I know she'd mention a possible move, and I've been wondering if anything has happened along those lines.
Have a great week, everyone! Deanna

Gail,
I'm praying that everything turns out B9 B9 B9 B9
Keep up the faith and you will be fine.
I went to Relay for Life for the first time and it was so wonderful to see all the support from so many different people. My kids loved it and had a wonderful time I heard so many stories of survival and it made me feel real good.
Have a good night everyone.

Gail, I am keeping you in my positive thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted. Life here is pretty routine lately. Nothing new to report.
Blessings All

The endometrial biopsy is back - IT'S NORMAL! I almost can't believe it - I was too ready for bad news. I KNOW all your prayers and good wishes made a huge difference and I know when one of us gets a good report - we ALL feel it. The next step is to check out the cyst in the ovary and I am feeling better about that now.
Karen, wish I could have done the Relay with you - sounds like it was great - very healing. Hugs to your Mom.
Corinne, thanks for your warm assurances in all the places that worry me. (like lungs). And so happy about your breast behaving! And for the smile I get every time I see you horse pic!
Hood & Bette it meant a lot that you prayed for B9 - and I got it!
Deen - you do have such strength, I know 'cause you are here with such strong support and care.
Deanna - you held my hand when I needed it waiting for that phone call - and I'm lucky we are friends.
Thanks Roya for your positive thoughts, they are working! But I can't believe your life is "pretty routine" - don't you live in Paris for gosh sakes!
(((((Hugs to all))))) & goodnight

Gail, I am sure all the girls would agree-just what we wanted to hear this morning!! Great way to start the day. Okay, so now we will all have good thoughts on the cyst. This is a great mental victory for you and all you have been through lately.

Great news Gail! Our prayers have been answered. Deanna - That is my daughter with me in the avatar. It's all squinty in the sun on Easter morning. She's getting married on Sept 19th. I actually ordered my dress this weekend. This year has been so wonderful compared to last. God has blessed me with a wonderful family and a wonderful support group in all you lovely ladies. May God Bless All of You!
-
Praise God! Our prayers are answered for you Gail. I will stop right now to pray for good news on the cyst as well.
Joyce, NIce photo of you and your daughter. It's so exciting that you have a wedding coming up.
Roya, I look forward to the day that life will be "routine" again. For me that means finishing rads and starting back to school this summer. I still have reconstruction coming up later this year.
Right now I am concentrating on diet and exercise and becoming strong again.

Gail, YEAH for normal!!! I'm still praying for you. We are so blessed!

Hugs to Gail!!!!!! I am so glad that the tests came back normal!!!!! I know it is stressful waiting on test results. I go the 12th for my mammo and I have to say I am kind of nervous!!!! I am sure everything will be fine though - it's all mental!!!!!! Loves to all......................

New picture!!!!!!!! It was taken at the beginning of March on my cruise with my Mom and sister. That is me in the green and that is my sister in the orange. The new picture was taken on 7 mile beach at Grand Cayman!!!!!!!

Alibug, love the new pic! Can we cross fingers together? I go for a mammo this Thursday morning. I had the last one in October and all was fine, except for the little cyst. Here's hoping to no call-backs!!!!! At some point, we have to pass this test like many other women do! Ha-ha...

Alibug, great new pic! That must have been so relaxing after all you went through!
Rads #9 is history. 19 to go. So far only a slight tan and some freckles on my chest.
I feel so good! I just worked out for an hour. It gives me a sense of achievement, and I feel strong.

Hey, Misty ~ Glad you figured it out! Now you can teach the rest of us. And remind me never to wear a dark mesh-y top over white pants! That looks so odd! (LOL) Deanna

Hot looking chicks indeed!

Yea for Gail! I'm so happy to hear the tests came back normal. Now hopefully they can remove the cysts so you can feel better!
I have a concern too. Seeing my onc. today for a wierd (I don't want to say lump but ?) near my lumpectomy. Hopefully it's just scar tissue. I'm not worried though.
But say a prayer for me too!
Oh Gail and Deanna: I will be in Desert Hot Springs this weekend. If you can meet up with me, please call me!
(Thanks Misty for posting our sexeee pic. I still think of that wonderful day.) Crossing my fingers for a normal mamo for you!
Has anyone heard of drinking Rattlesnake blood/meat as a cancer cure? My mom phoned me on Sunday about a very interesting story of a lady w/stage 4 cervical cancer. She was ready to go into a hospice. She was advised to try this last ditch attempt and went to Mexico (Before the Swine Flu) and drank a shot of Rattlesnake venom. Well her tumors shrank, her pain immediatley went away and she is now cancer free. (You can google story)...I don't know ladies I just may try this! The theory behind this is that cancer can't live in an oxygenated environment. (I'm not downplaying chemo or mean to offend anyone but this is very interesting.)
Prayers and Hugs,
Jeannine
-
Jeannine, I will definitely pray for you, but I don't know if I would try rattlesnake personally
Rads # 10 today. Over 1/3 through! Still no skin reaction but a mild tan. I am slathering on the Udderly Smooth.
Misty, I will pray for a good mammo!
A good afternoon to all!

Tom was waiting outside rads today with a single red rose. What a guy!
I got in my exercise today. So far am feeling strong through rads.
Love and prayers to all!

Jeannine ~ You may want to rethink your weekend plans. I'm going to PM you. Deanna
-
Hey ladies, your pics are wonderful!
Deen
-
Jeannine, Deanna, Misty, & Gail, you look great in that photo! Looks like you were having such a great time!
-
Hi Ladies,
Thanks for the compliments on the pix. I do need to take off weight I've put on w/the chemo though!
Well Dr. appt. went really well. She doesn't believe I have a tumor and didn't feel anything. (Dr. believes it's scar tissue). I'm scheduled for my annual mammo next month just to be sure. It was so nice to see the staff. They all hugged me and always make me feel special.
Deanna: Got your PM. Thank you so much....Forwading to my DH. Let's see if my plans change.
Stay well everyone!
Jeannine
