    Hi everyone,

Corrine, you look so pretty with your horse.  What a great picture!  Hope you are doing well.

Ladies, my prayers are with you in the care of your Moms and Grams.

Gail, I still find myself melancholy at times about all that we have gone through and are going through.  I want to be happy and am so scared to just admit I am cancer free!  As if by saying it, I will be wrong and it will come back.  Always looking over my shoulder gets so tiring.  I've been lurking in the Motivation thread trying to boost my spirirts.:)

Has anyone heard from Jeannine?  I'm getting a little worried.  Hope she's alright.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend,

    Deen

    Good evening ladies!

Tom's job interview went well today! They said it is a matter of when they can bring him on board, not if. It is a job with the state, and the hiring process can take up to 12 weeks! He already has a state job, so it may not take that long.

We had a long cozy afternoon, and made progress with cleaning up the apartment and putting away wedding gifts . Things are much better with me today, even though it is a dreary, rainy day outside.

You are right, Corinne, Tom is a great blessing, and my Lord will carry me through rads.

Hope you are all having a great Saturday afternoon!

Tom and I are making progress fixing up our nest.

I have decided not to think about rads until it is actually time to start . Have an appointment with medical oncologist on Monday.

God is good. We love being married. This is our one week anniversary!

    Thanks, Corinne.

The first 2 rads are over and I walked out yesterday amazed that I don't feel a thing and yet I know something is going on with those machines! Is it really doing something good for me - no sensation whatsoever. But I do notice that I worry about them lining me up right. One tech was late & hurrying & I wanted to tell her - "Slow down, take a breath"!  Went straight out to ride my horse!

Deen, thanks for mentioning the Motivation thread - I'll look it up. And for knowing just how I feel....

    Great weekend to everyone!

Yippeeee!!!! Yahoo!!!! I"m done!!!!! My RAD's are over. When I left I teared up. So overwhelming. God is so good to let me be healthy thus far. Tomorrow is my Muga test. Hoping I pass to get back on Herceptin. My chest is a little on the roasted side but this is probably the sorest I will feel. I told the people that work there that I hope that I never see them again as a patient!! They understood. I am so happy today.

Still constantly praying for ALL of you.

Lashon and Kimberlyn, Are you doing okay? We have not heard from you in quite some time. We are here for you!!

Gail: Too bad you don't live in CT. I'd ride with you!!!

    Deen: How are you feeling?

Love and hugs to you all,

    Corinne

Corinne, Congratulations! I am so happy for you!

Visit with med onc today. She said I have been through the worst, and pretty soon I will just be on pills and only need to see her every three months . For some reason there were tears in my eyes listening to her.

Tom was with me for the appointment, which helped. We came home and were so emotionally tired that we fell asleep for 1.5 hours.

In two months, I also will be done with rads. Keep me in your prayers for no SE's!

    Hi everyone,

Had a 2nd fill on the TEs last Friday, wow, that was tight!  PS said I could have my oopherectomy during my exchange surgery, so that will be good.

Corrine, congratulations!  I bet you are so glad to be over that.  My prayers are with you on the MUGA test, so you can continue your tx.

Hope everyone has a great day,

Corrine, congrats on completing rads!!!! Hope your skin didnn't suffer too much damage.

Bette, hurray!!!!!!! The worst is over!!!!!Cool  Now you are starting a wonderful new chapter to a wonderful life.  This is wonderful!

Jeanine, so glad that you checked in to let us know how you are doing.  Glad your headaches are resolving.  Please keep us posted.

Life here has returned to normal routine.  Nothing new to report.  I hope that we, as a group,  will continue to update and keep in touch as we mark each new year as survivors.  I've noticed that many of these groups have been continuing for 3 years or longer.

Wishing you a blessed Easter and Passover week.

Bette ~ I'm so glad that you posted that link!  What a pretty wedding, and you look lovely.  And I can't believe how close Tom looks to the way I had him pictured all these months!  You make a great-looking couple, and I'm so very happy for you!

Roya ~ I too hope that this thread will stay alive, but you know there are several other great threads to share interests beyond bc.  One I like a lot is called Motivation, if anyone else is interested in getting and staying motivated to exercise and eat right.

Corinne ~ Congrats on finishing rads!!!  Hope the MUGA went well.  Let us know!

Thinking of you all ~  Deanna

The children in the wedding are my niece and nephew. Adopted by my brother and his wife from an orphanage in Armenia. My family is Armenian, so although I am not related to Joshua and Rachel by blood, we share a heritage. That accounts for the resemblance.

The young woman in lavender is my married daughter, Rachel. As of yet, no grandchildren, but she and Stephen have not yet been married two years.

The elderly woman in blue is my beloved Mom. Although she has dementia, she was very alert that day and smiled the entire time.

The rest of the crew are my brothers, one of whom escorted me down the aisle, and the other who served as best man. There are also aunts, uncles and cousins representing my family.

Tom was overjoyed to have his daughter and fiance' attend, the only relatives on his side, as he was raised in an orphanage. Now he has a large extended family to call his own.

I'm going back to school after I finish rads! Have an appointment with my advisor this PM. Tom has really been encouraging me to do this. I am going to school for Computer Information Studies and was halfway through before I started chemo and had to drop out.

Woohoo! I feel like I am getting on with my life!

Good for you Bette!  I know I want to finish and get my BA.  I didn't go on Facebook lastnight.

Sorry about your mugga Corinne.  Mine came back showing a weak muscle but my heart was okay for chemo.  Hopefully staying off Herceptin will help.

Deanna, Misty & Gail:  It's supposed to rain -(T- Storms) tomorrow!  My Tahoe is also making a wierd sound.  If the weather isn't so bad, I'm calling in sick tomorrow.

Dying to see you CA girls!

Jeanine, I didn't know it rained in CA?. I encourage you to back to school. We have futures to plan for!

Pray for me as I have had a cough for a week. I hope that it is only allergies.

Married life has been wonderful so far!

    Hello Everyone,

Just had a great afternoon talking and celebrating in the desert - me (Gail), Deanna, Misty and Jeannine! What a wonderful opportunity to be together! It was very fun, but also just felt good to see each other as real people after so many shared email messages. We're already talking about being together again next April and want a bigger crowd with us so keep it in mind, everyone!

    Happy Easter & hugs,

    gail

    Hey Girls,

Corrine, congrats on being done rads!!!  Another milestone for you to mark.  Sorry to hear about the Muga still being low.

Gail, Deanna, and Jeannine-Soooooo fun meeting you in person yesterday!!!  Had a great time chatting and marking all that we have been through.  I am stuck in the Phoenix Airport after leaving late from Palm Springs this morning due to bad weather here.  We literally missed our plane to Baltimore by 5 minutes!!!!!  Now, we have seven hours to kill before the next flight leaves at 4:00 PM and we won't get home until midnight east coast time.  UUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!

Jeannine, we'll blame the chemo brain for you leaving your glasses at my place.  Send me a PM with your address, and I'll drop them in the mail for you at some point this week.

Everyone, have a nice Easter with your families.  I will post some pics of the "desert girls" when I get home for all to see.

    ~Misty

Hi, all ~  Oh my gosh -- I wish you all could have been at Misty's condo yesterday with us!  We had such a great time, and I echo Gail's idea that we try to do it with more of us next year.  Jeannine had also mentioned that there's a BCO get-together of sorts being planned now for Las Vegas, so some of us may want to look into that, too.  Personally, not only did I thoroughly enjoy meeting Misty & Jeannine (Gail and I are already friends), but I found it positively cathartic to be able to discuss and share our bc experiences.  No matter how many friends we have, or how much family support we have, I have to say once again, no one will ever have the place in my heart that my bc sisters on these boards do!

Misty ~  So sorry about the delay in PHX.  I hope you and your DH were able to leave the airport and hit the art musem or a mall or something.

Jeannine ~  Hope your drive home was uneventful.  Please let us know if you plan a trip to DHS, so that we can see you then.

Corinne ~  WOHOO on finishing up rads!!!  I found Emu Oil (about $15 in a dropper style bottle) to be the absolute best skin healer; also recommended by my rad onc.

Happy Easter & Passover blessings to everyone ~   Deanna

    Hi there everyone!

Let me copy the girls, on what a wonderful visit it truly was yesterday in the desert.  It was such a pleasure meeting, chit chatting, taking pictures and just bonding w/ Misty, Deanna & Gail. I truly had one of the best days this year.  Didn't the time just fly by? You're so right Deanna..all of us have grown to be more than just an on line buddy, but a special sister. (The drive on the way home was clear BTW.)  I am truly considering making that Ta Ta Sisterhood convention in Vegas next Sept.  I'm sure it's going to be a blast. Ladies think about it!

MJ: (Misty) Aww that stinks about missing your flight.  I was thinking about you at 8:30 PCT and that you were probably already on your way back. I told you I've got chemo-brain!  I didn't even know my glasses were missing and I just bought them.  I'll PM you w/my address & FedEx label. Thanks for being such a great hostess yesterday. Your condo was lovely. I was so happy to meet you.

Gail: I so enjoyed meeting you too.  Hearing your work travels and experience was so interesting. You look hot in your BMW. I'm still not ready to give up the wig though!

Corinne- Congrats to you on finishing RADS! I hope the blisters heal really soon for you.

Wishing all my BC sisters a very Happy Easter,

    Jeannine Kiss
