Anyone interested in doing the luncheon the last Saturday in June? That would be 06/27....If so, suggestions on where?
-
I would be interested. In the interim, could I ask for info for a friend? She has been on Tamoxifen for almost 5 years and not given an ultrasound. Now she is having bleeding issues and had to undergo a biopsy, for which she's waiting on results. Shouldn't she have been getting annual trans-v ultrasounds?
-
Mary,
My obgyn doctors insists on a yearly tv ultrasound for as long as I am on Tamoxifen. She shouldn't have to ask her doc for one but might want to request one.
-
Oooh, that would work for me. Odie, are you back by then?
Mary-- when I was on tamoxifen, my MO wasn't too concerned about getting transv-ultrasounds, even when I asked her more than once about it. Depending on if she's on the new tamoxifen regime of 10 years, and after this experience, she may want to pursue getting yearly ultrasounds from her MO or obgyn.
-
I will be back from vacation by then so it works for me. Now,we just have to decide where...
-
Just heard from a friend who was diagnosed with Stage I. She is going to have a lumpectomy, but it requires some recon. She is using Dr. Cocilovo and Dr. Duda. Anyone have any thoughts on Dr. Duda? I've never heard of him/her. Thanks.
-
My dear colleague was diagnosed with uterine cancer.
-
Mary, I am so sorry to hear that. While it is not the same, My heart goes out to her. All cancer sucks!
-
Thanks. I just feel that this could have been prevented but the doctor told her it is no longer standard of care to send women for yearly pelvic ultrasounds with biopsy. How about ultrasound only? I'm so glad that those of you on Tamox seem to be going, which is how I learned of it.
-
Mary, I used Dr. Cocilovo too but had Dr. Rad as my PS. Both did an outstanding job. I had lumpectomy with oncoplasty, reduction and lift. I had surgery April 7 and am now doing radiation. Good Luck, MJ
-
My surgeon is also Dr Cocilovo and my PS is Dr Nahabidian. My BMX with DIEP flap is scheduled for July 27th....unless they can get me in earlier
-
Are we still doing anything this Saturday? Or are we having the next one in August (since it's July 4th weekend?).
-
Anyone interested in getting together for lunch at Uncle Julio' s in Fairfax Corner on Saturday 07/11 or 07/18??
-
Yum. I might be able to do 7/11 if my Zometa infusion at Georgetown goes on schedule. I can't do 7/18.
-
Judy, Cuetang or Jennifer, anybody else up for Julio' s on Saturday???
-
I have friends in town on the 11th. I could do the 18th, but I know others have a conflict that day. So feel free to go ahead without me. Sorry I keep missing these! I'm away the first weekend in August, too. :
-
...but I will check back in case you end up going on the 18th..
-
Just wanted to jump in and say "hi"! Even thought I don't live in NOVA anymore, I grew up there and lived in Vienna for 30 years! Moved to NC in 1998, but my parents and brother still live in NOVA so I am there sometimes to visit. It sure was a great place to live!! My parents are moving out of my childhood home in August so it will be really strange when I visit and it's no longer there. It will be knocked down to build something newer and bigger...every time I am back in Vienna I am amazed at all the changes! But, the schools I went to are still there, so it's always fun to go past them and remember the old days!! Take care, ladies!
-
Okay, the 11th looks bad for me....am open the 18th.
Hi Mel!!
-
Well since it looks like 07/18 works better for most of us, let's plan for that day at noon at Uncle Julio's in Fairfax Corner. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!
-
Are we still on for Saturday?? Who's in?
-
I am .....
-
I'm in...
-
Ok, see you ladies at noon!!
-
Gonna be a few minutes late but will be there
-
same here! Be there around 12:15
-
ok I'm here.
-
Hey all! I have been back in NC since Oct and am very happy being home. Things are VERY different at UNC Hospitals than at what now seems like a very small Virginia Hospital Center. How is everyone?
-
Hey there! Great to hear from you, and glad things are going so well! Are you saying unc hospitals are good? I may want to move to RDU someday.
Our group still gets together for lunch. Smaller, but going strong. Odie's great about keeping us on track
-
Placid44...I love UNC hospitals...not a unc Tarheel dan, we are an NC State family :-) but the hospital is great. It's a huge complex with multiple hospitals - it is a teaching hospital so lots students in appointments. For some reason now at the 2 yr mark I am having a lot of anxietu. Raleigh is wonderful, let me know if you ever want to visit, we have a guest room.
