Love the haircut Toby. Looks great on you!
-
Toby..love the hair. Hope mine comes in soon and looks as good! Finished TC Feb 5 and its coming in - salt and pepper color but only about 1/2 inch so far. Thick.
-
Toby- that is a great haircut! Looks beautiful and your hair grew in well! No need for a wig. As soon as my hair looks like that I am ditching the wig. Unfortunately it won't be this summer I am afraid.

Toby. I love it. You don't need the wig. I ditched my wig 1 yr PFC.
-
Toby keep it that short. It looks fabulous. As you can see I kept my short too
-
Thanks so much: I really wanted to show those starting this that it does grow! And, to be brave like the others who posted
When my journey started I decided not to tell my staff of 32. I did tell my Exec committee on my Board, and two staff I needed to know.
So I have gone shorter slowly. (with wig) I think I will be ready September. My natural (and colored hair) traditionally is more red: I can't do that for a while yet, and want the kinkys to go away more. But, when we go to our tiny slice of heaven in TN I am free as a bird and love it.
thanks for all your comments, made me smile Happy Friday everyone!
-
Toby, Love it!! You don't need a wig, but understand your need to not tip your hand to staff. Outside of work, encourage you to go without it. Every time out of the house with your cute short cut will empower you!
My hairstylist won't consider permanent hair color until I get my former hair texture back. Is your color demi or permanent
-
Mommom, I actually thought of you when I was done, but yours is more spectacular! I have at least taken it off in car on way home, and next Friday morning will be off for 8 days while we are gone
Mine is demi also: she said if she did red now it would be horrible
-
Toby, you look FABULOUS!!!! I still have the "kinks and curls" in mine and don't know what to do with it. Where in TN?
-
Toby - what about showing up w/o the wig in your adorable cut after your 8 days off & just telling them you got it cut for the summer? It really does look great.
-
that's a nice idea
-
Toby you look amazing. I don't know how you looked with longer hair but you look so modern and fresh with this cut and color. You can totally pull off the plan minustwo suggested. I'm in a similar situation, got my hair cut and shaped 8 days ago for the first time since chemo and been without a wig since then as I was on vacation. Up until a few days ago I was still planning to wear the wig at work for 3-4 more months but I've just changed my mind about this. At this point while our hair is a short pixie it is still a cut other people in fact go and have. It does not indicate cancer or chemo. You will be ok with whatever you decide but just wanted to add to others that I vote for no wig based on your fantastic photo
-
Toby when I went through treatment I never posted any photos of facebook. I only told a few folks. I posted photos of me about 6 months PFC. Everyone kept saying "great cut" and "decided to ago pixie for the summer?). No one even seemed to notice that my boobs went from a barely unfull 34B to a full 34D in the photos! :P No one had a clue. My hair used to be a long bob: linky
-
Toby here is my cut, while it looks like a shocked the valet people in my building, they all thought it was on purpose. Still working on figuring out how to style it but my plan is to brave it and go to work like this on Monday
-
Toby - you don't need a wig -your hair looks so cute.. I think people will think you got it cut like that on purpose..
Windgirl - love the look - I think mine was shorter than yours when I went to work without my wig - it was freedom and so many people complimented me. -
Toby - BTW - I have no idea how old your are but everyone told me my short hair made me look 10 years younger - a real bonus at my age.
-
Windgirl, you are rockin it: it looks just perfect on you! You tiny thing you
I am 5 10, and wear a 14: am 54
-
windgirl....how long did it take for your hair to get like that. I always have had short hair...my wig is a little longer and straighter than my own hair, but looks real. I am just waiting for it to get longer so I don't have to wear the wig. Right now its salt and pepper color but maybe 1/2 inch long. Seems like its taking forever.
How long before hair can be colored?
-
Toby - I'm 5'9" and wear a 12 or 14 and I'm 70 (ok, ok - a young 70). People still think I look "cuter" w/short hair, not to mention younger. I've never channeled 'cute' in my entire life but it's fun. I just scrolled up & looked at your picture again in case I had chemo brain before. It's still think it's the greatest.
-
thanks ladies, I've been told I look younger with short hair too. My regular hair was pretty long, would go below my breasts, and my wig was similar length too so it is a drastic change.
I finished chemo nov 25 so it has been 6 months. I was hoping it would be longer by now but it really did not start growing until the end of January. I'm using the FAST shampoo and conditioner someone recommended on this thread, not sure if it makes a difference. I'm also on herceptin which some people say slows down the growth.
My lashes and brows are nowhere near before, I wonder if they will stay like this. I normally did not wear eyeliner but without it I look sick nowadays (short stubby eyelashes) and I have to fill in my brows too
-
love the look windgirl
-
windgirl, your hair looks so cute!! Love it.
-
Here's my hair. Pictures taken while waiting at Sloan Kettering for my 3 week herceptin/perjeta infusion. Finished chemo January 20th. Ditched the wig a few weeks ago. Love, Jean
-
Jean, your are a gorgeous woman!
-
Looking great Jean!! You are absolutely lovely!!
-
Absolutely fantastic, Jean!!!!
-
looking good Jean! -
looking great Jean!! Hair coming in thick
-
Jean, so glad you can ditch the wig in time for summer. It's uncomfortable and hot with a wig already on June 1st!!
I have had general anesthesia twice since May 1.. My hair growth slowed down I swear it has.

I have a question about hair after chemo and radiation. I lost my hair 1.5 years ago. The new hair, which has been slow to grow has a wiry texture and is unusually thick. Could anyone please tell me when or if one loses the thick odd textured hair? Thank you.
