Are you using the coconut oil meant for cooking. I just bought some - so I'm wondering.
-
I bought 2 jars of the same unrefined, cold pressed organic coconut oil and use one for cooking and the other on my body and scalp. Love it! Ok, now I've officially used it as suntan oil on my legs. I'm dealing with sun damage om my face so that was well protected.
-
Kittycat, I like you brunette.
-
Kittycat, I am in agreement with everybody else so far, Brunette. But you do whatever you are happier with!
-
Kittycat, I also think you look great in both but I vote for the brunette...love the color on you.
I don't think I have posted on this thread yet but am checking in now because I am 9 weeks post chemo (taxotere and cytoxan) and I only have 3/4's of an inch of hair growth. I am getting impatient and sick of the wig. My hair is naturally stawberry blonde and I decided to have some fun and get a darker auburn wig but regret that decision because it feels too strange. So I can't wait to get rid of it. I am using more scarves now but looking forward to the day I can ditch it all. My hair was also looking like it lacked any color at first but now I see more and more color...along with some grey though. I have never dyed my hair before does anyone know how long we should wait before we do this? I don't know if the chemo affects the way hair absorbs color?
Thanks,
Dawn

Kittycat - I vote for brunette as well.
DMD - I am 7 months out and hair is 2.5-3 inches long (shorter in front). So you are doing well.
-
-
Kitty- blonde or brunette? both are fabulous!
-
Alison: You look great! It doesn't look like a "chemo cut" it looks like a "real" hairstyle!
-
aww thank you lady i feel great now its got some sort of style going on xx
-
Kitty - you will look great either way, you have such a beautyful face.
I am still getting positive vibes with my hair. They love both the length and the color, all natural baby.
Had a random lady stop me at my RO's office and told me I had great hair, said she should know since she was a hair dresser. That was a boost.
-
Alyson, You look great, nice haircut.
-
I am with kitty I like the brunette. I was brunette too and hilighted it to be blonde. I did have a little grey peeking in. Mostly i did the hilites because it gave my hair body and volume. If I have a lot of grey now I will cover it as soon as I can.
-
Alison - I really like your hair cut. Is it coming in straight?
Kitty - I thought your profile pic was before BC - that's a mighty fine looking wig!
Well I'm happy to report that I have bangs. I don't know when it happened but they've finally arrived!
My hair is coming in corkscrew curly and not looking like it's growing much but when I take the time to blow dry it and pull it out with a round brush it looks much longer.
I'm 1 year PFC and still wearing it "au natural" - mostly all grey. I will try and post some photos soon.
I'm debating doing something with it before my surgery next week. Should I cut it or colour it? It's nice to have options!

kittycat... i vote for brunette also. Think its the eyes! You look great. Thanks also for posting the other pics. I am 5 months PFC now and don't have enough hair to style for sure, but I think I have some ideas to take to my hairdresser in another couple months. Judging from all the other pics posted, I am definitely a slow grower. Hopefully, it will kick into high gear soon.
-
Kittycat I too like the darker hair plus the blond is hard to keep up with (for me anyway. Always lots of roots). Alison I am so excited to think my hair could be that cute in just 6 months thanks for
Posting -
Kittycat I say the brunette. I love how your hair has grown out.
-
kittycat - the blonde is cute, but the brunette is gorgeous.
I am laughing at you planning the regrowth, only because I was already planning mine before I even started chemo.
-
I am very envious of all of you who are getting your hair back. I am 23 days PFC (TC) and still just have "clear" stubble. I am so anxious to have hair back, I check in the mirror about 5 times a day, expecting to see something like a "5 o'clock shadow" on my head, but so far, just the thin clear stubble....How soon can I expect some real hair with full coverage?
-
I am 66 days post TC and I have barely an inch...I check it a lot too. I started with that clear stubble as well and it is slowly changing to my natural hair color. Unfortunately, I just lost my eyebrows and eyelashes this last month...what the heck? I kept them throughout my chemo, why are they gone now? The eyebrows are already starting to come back in but nothing at all on the eyelashes. Seems strange!
-
Kittycat- Brunette!!
-
I have a five o'clock shadow also. I never thought of it that way but when you mentioned that it described my hair completely. Also, my eyebrows never fell completely out but they got shorter, It's like only the last half inch or so fell out.
Kittycat - brunette - I have always loved your avatar picture.
-
Kittycat, this might be a bit redundant, but here goes anyway...brunette. It looks beautiful on you.
