Thanks Elizabeth. I knew there was a get-together coming up and I didn't want to be left out if some of the meeting info (place and time) is kept private. Don't worry about paperwork, take care of yourself for now. Everything else can wait. I don't think I'll be able to make it this time, but eventually it will work out and I look forward to meeting everyone then. Sherri

I'm trying to figure out how to post the photos that Alberta's husband took today of the group, so have patience with me while I flounder around. It doesn't seem to insert the photo into the message, but I can post a link to the photos. I am so glad I went to the get together today and got to meet everyone. Sherri

Hi everyone, my pet scan results are in and I got to read them. It is not good news at all. Yet my Dr. gives me so much hope. Along with the support, from family, friends, and my faith keep me going.
The bones, my neck, lower back vertabre, right arm, thoughout my right leg, right cap of my hip, right pelvis by the sacrum
The liver: multi lesions throughout the lives in the nodes and glands as will.
Started chemo yesterday. Taxotere/Carboplatin been on this before is not a delightful drugs to be on they made me pretty sick.
I have been sick to my stomach for 5 weeks now it hurts all the time. I have lack of appetite, I full after I have eaten a small amount, my right shoulder blade hurts, tired, stomach swollen and hurts under my rib. All this is signs of liver mets. I started taking percocet again that is the only thing that seems to help at this time.
Still planning in August 27th probably around noonish. Working on a place and time. Looking forward to our get togethers. I will probably be bald again. When it is summer I do not wear a wig or scarves I am bald cause it is to hot to full with it. I try and stay as cool as possible.
Many blessings my sisters. Again thank you for your support it is greatly appreciated.

Darnit EBAnn not the news we were hoping for! I am sorry you are having such tummy issues...have you tried the Emend (?spelling) or do you think the tummy issues are due to the liver lesions? Sending lots of love and prayers your way.
PS I am really going to try and make the August get together (I know promises, promises)
-
Mieko, and Michelle it would be really great to see you. I have been thinking of you often. Take care and many blessings.
-
Elizabeth, We have only met once, but it's obvious that you are a person that everyone wants to know and be near. You have a good aura about you. Hopefully all the prayers and good wishes of those who are cheering for you will be heard. Sherri

Thanks for the kind words Sherri. Hope your day goes will.

Hi - I just signed up this week and we have similar diagnoses although my cancer was > 10 cm involving the whole left breast.. I had my double mastectomies, skin sparing, with immediate expanders placement on April 7, 11 and started chemo about 6 weeks later (once the drains were out and port had been in one week) carboplatin, taxotere, herceptin, neulasta, the steroids, compazine, etc and have completed round 3 of 6, and then will have the herceptin for a full year then the radiation then reconstruction.
I am doing OK - I am finding I need more emotional, physical, and spiritual support though as it seems some people have checked out and it is too much for them. Most of my family lives across the country... I am looking for a local Phoenix support group in 85018 zipcode if possible, and mentors, supportors and victorious stories and advice. Thanks and Blessings in advance. Please keep me in the loop for get togethers - I would love to talk to gals on the same road!
-
barb - I did taxotere/carbo and have 2 more herceptins. There are two threads that may be helpful 'Triple Positive Group' and 'taxotere, carboplatin and herceptin'. Eat lots of protein, drink lots of water, exercise as best as you can and join a group here that is doing chemo now or started when you started. I don't live in Phoenix but hopefully I can come to a get together there later this year. Take care!
-
Hi Ladies, may I join you?
Juls
-
Hi Julianna - I am new to this thread too and hope to meet the group sometime this year.
