Again, Obama is scary.  I was watching a clip on him speaking in Florida...Hello, Sunshine (gaffe...Sunrise, Fla).  THE PEOPLE!  He's like a ROCK STAR!  Take a peek.  You don't have to watch the whole sickening video.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vug4TfnoKuw  I haven't.

Okay, I have to admit I fell asleep watching Obama's "resignation" from his church.  I heard what he said, but fell asleep watching the questions and answers.  My take on his "resigning"... he look pissed.  I mean the press was disturbing the church..taking bulletins...calling shut-ins...and he still seemed to think Moss was a nice young preacher man.  Like Roctobermom, I thought WHAT!  Has no one told him about this new, young, nice preacher man?  And, Obama has known this priest for many, many years.  He must have known that this man was a racist.  I don't know why the Catholic Church doesn't "fire" him.

I do not know how I am going to keep my blood pressure DOWN during the rest of this "election."  I truly hope the women who are for Hillary will stick to their guns and NOT vote for this man.  And I certainly hope Hillary wouldn't accept a VP position.  Remember what Michelle said when asked if Hillary would be a good choice for Obama's VP..."I'll have to think about it."  I got tickled with Geraldine Ferraro when she was asked by Colmes (I think) if she would vote for Obama.  She said, Like Michelle said about Hillary, I'll have to think about it.  Then asked my Hannity (I think..can't remember who asked what) if she'd vote for McCain..she answered the same, but had a giggle and "accused" them of putting her on the spot. LOL

Linda you brought a huge smile to my face Laughing...........actually it is Susie that is our wonderful linkster........that woman can find anything and seems to find things that can't be found............but for you to get me mixed up with Susie is one of the nicest compliments I have received in a long time............I did have one question about Obama's speech conference tonight.......when that reporter asked him if he had known that Trinity would be causing him so much problems today would he have chosen that church to start his career as a community activist?  Remember Obama got pissed and said I did not join Trinity to activate my political career or something like that and that there were lots of churches in the South Side of Chicago he could have gone to that had lot's of out reach programs for the community..........well if that's the case why did he chose the church that follows the Black Liberation Movement and why did he chose a church that teaches separatism and hate the white man?...........I mean Trinity is left of left............if he thinks for one minute that this is over he is so wrong..............Shokk

Darn, I wished I hadn't fallen asleep during the Q & A.  I still think he acted pissed about "resigning."  It's like he HAD TO.  Well, he did.  But, like you, Shokk, I don't think this is then end of things concerning his "former" church.  The question is, why did you stay there for 20 years?

Shokk-- Linda--You must be a soothsayers.

Roger Stone on Fox has reported that there is a tape with Michelle Obama making some racist comments  which he says are outrageous at best --and a major network has it --and the Clinton campaign  and the RNC are desperately seeking it-----

Now Roger Stone broke the Spitzer Story to the FBI -he is a Republican political operative---so is there some smoke here?

Well if MSNBC, CNN or NBC has it --It will never see the light of day.  LOL Wink

Now is it Sean Hannity's October surprise? --not if Hillary can get her hands on it.

From the day Obama hit the windy city he has had a carefully orchestrated path----I can't imagine they would have anything out there

    like this............ I just can't imagine..............nahhhhhh- can't be

    -could it???????

Guess if it exists- Hillary better get ahold of it before Tuesday night and then which surrogate releases it---Don't hold your breath..............

Well thankfully the source of the leak is a Hillary supporter---- Larry Johnson

rightpundits.com has an interesting take by Byron McAffee:

    ------------------------------------------------------

"Well, I debated whether to even post this or not. I’m not usually into rumor or innuendo, but what the hell, lets have some fun. Larry Johnson over at No Quarter has apparently learned (he has 4 sources on this) that a video tape exists of Michelle Obama railing against whitey at Rev. Wright’s church. You can read the story here.

Of course, if true, the implications are going to be very far reaching and we will either see SDs start to go for Hillary in droves, or McCain wins in a 50 state landslide. I don’t know if this will turn out to be a legitimate tape or not, but there is a lesson in here for both parties to learn. The reason why people who have only served for 2 years as a Senator don’t run for POTUS is not about experience per se, its about vetting. Say what you want about Hillary, by now we know all her dirty laundry, from the Rose Law Firm, to buying cattle futures and travelgate. Everything we need to know about Hillary has already been out there and discussed, believed or dismissed. The same cannot be said about Obama. In fact, we know very little about the man. Having lived in Illinois for 15 years, I can tell you that Chicago politics is very corrupt. There is all sorts of slime and corruption that goes on in that particular arena. The fact is, Obama has not been vetted. We do not know everything that he has been through.

As to why the tape has not yet surfaced, rumor is the GOP is holding it for a fall surprise. I’m sure Hillary wishes she found that tape first (if it exists)."

    Michelle Obama ‘Whitey’ Video

     James Joyner | Sunday, June 1, 2008

Larry Johnson has apparently used his CIA connections to unearth a video of Michelle Obama saying something objectionable about “Whitey.”

New and dramatic developments. This is a heads up. I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours. Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.

Johnson is one of the most objective reporters on the Internets, having no obvious dog in this fight,** so I’m sure it’ll rock like a pony.* Especially since Johnson has been touting this video for weeks.

I wonder if Barack will now have to come out and disassociate himself from his wife!

Did you hear the story about Bill Clinton supposedly "harrassing" women while on the campaign trail? I wonder if OBamas people are behind that one.

I am just so glad that all these stories are coming out because of the mess the dems made for themselves. If the stories were leaked by republicans, no one would believe it.

It amazes me how the dems have devised their own demise. They should have had the race running away. Isn't it great?!

Susie, thanks.  At least I got to see the second part.  I hate it when they say the repubs are on the attact because we have NO ANSWERS.  Obama has no answers and no one knows crap about he OR his wife.  We've heard two comments...America is a mean country, and this is the first time in my adult life that I've been proud of America.  How in the heck can you interpret this in any other way other than what she said.  It was plain and clear.

As far as the Clinton chasing skirts here's the Vanity Fair article that will be released.  I have not read the entire article.  I'm so sick to death of this crap.  And I do think Hillary is waiting for "the other shoe to fall."  Look how much money she's invested in this campaign.  Or, could it be she's angry with her dh and his antics.

Remember Linda...Michelle is "untouchable" according to her esteemed husband she is to be left alone! I guess she can say whatever she wants but no one can say anything about her. I never did like the woman from the moment I heard and saw her, now I know why! How in the H*** anyone could compare her to Jacqueline Kennedy is way beyond me!

Bill must be chewin those viagra pills day and night.  If he's on heart meds, he should need a boat load of the stuff to keep up with his own legend.  This is rotten timing for Hillary, sad too.  Of course, I expect whoever wrote the story is a big time fan of Obama.

Then we get the Michelle story on top of all this, and McCain can now campaign from his living room.  Unless the tape comes out though, they'll get away with it one more time.

    BARACK OBAMA

Is the Michelle Obama Tape a Matter of Enunciation?

A really interesting theory about the alleged Michelle Obama tape, which could explain a lot, from the liberal blog Booman Tribune. Michelle, offering a speech critical of President Bush, offers a refrain of "why'd he" — the words "why did he" mushed together — that sounds like "whitey" on the tape.

Apparently, if the tape ever comes to light, her words will sound something like:

    Whitey cut folks off Medicaid?
    Whitey let New Orleans drown?
    Whitey do nothing about Jena?
Whitey put us in Iraq for no reason?

    ...when the intended message is,

Why'd he cut folks off Medicaid?
Why'd he let New Orleans drown?
Why'd he do nothing about Jena?
Why'd he put us in Iraq for no reason?

Or so we will be told. The irony is, if the latter interpretation is accurate, we still have a potential first lady accusing her husband's predecessor of "letting" New Orleans drown.

UPDATE: Contemplating the rumor below, I wondered when and how Michelle Obama and Louis Farrkhan would appear on a panel together. Farrakhan doesn't seem like the type to voluntarily share the stage. But then I noted that in late 2007, Trinity United gave Farrakhan its lifetime achievement award with a full ceremony — the video shown that evening is still on YouTube, with the feminine announcer declaring, "For his commitment to truth, education and leadership, we honor Minister Louis Farrakhan with the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. lifetime achievement award." (Before you ask, the announcer is not Michelle Obama.) Is it possible the two are at the head table for a banquet? Is this the circumstance of Michelle Obama's remarks?

Listen to this preacher put down Obama and the likes of Farakhan (sp) and all the people who believe Affirmative Action is good.  He says, you've had 500 years to get ahead and you are still complaining that you have nothing? Now you are cheering because the government says you don't need to be as good as the whites in order to have the same job!

Here's the video of this black preacher deriding Affirmative Action:

To me, I always thought it insulting to women and minorities that standards have to be brought down in order to hire them.  Obviously, people are being prejudicial in hiring if a company has few women (happens all the time in my field but few women enter the field, so the ratio will never be same) and few minorities.  I honestly believe that when it comes to testing everyone should have a number instead of a name because sometimes even a name can tell you about the person.   If a persons name is Terry Murphy, it could be a man or woman but is probably of Irish descent.....  A boy named Kunte Mgboto (I made that up) sounds of African descent. If people had Hiree #3434, you'd no zip, nada, nothing!  And let me tell you, if the name was Angus MacDonald ....  my great grandfather would never have hired a man with that name for fear he would be Scottish!!!!   As we know bias has more to it than skin color.

    Susie,

So the Michelle video might not be the bombshell the Obama detractors are hoping for.  It didn't come out today, so I suspect there isn't much to the story.

I was listening to Obama give a speech today, not a word about when he'll be bringing the troops home, though he talked about the expense of it.  To me the real expense is the lives lost.  People hear him talk about the war and nothing about ending the war.  Big difference.  I look forward to the debates, and we'll see if he can be pinned down so his supporters can find out the truth of the matter.

    Rocktober,

    That is some video.  Thanks.

It doesn't make ANY difference if Michelle DID day, "whitey."  An Obama lover is an Obama lover.  The masses that follow him around and listen to him speak..well, that speaks VOLUMES.  It may make a difference for the undecided.  However, as you have read on the other politic thread some people will vote for Nadar, or write in Hillary's name.  By doing that, IMO, they'll be voting for Obama which scares the crap out of me.

As far as Affirmative Action or "quotas"...my husband has had experience in this.  He worked for Bell South.  There were some women who were "linemen..linewomen"..LOL where they had to climb poles and carry heavy lines up.  The women had to call men to help.  He eventually got an engineering job, but was passed over because of women.  And believe me, I'm not saying this because he's my dh, but the women were not qualified.  Even before he retired there were still women not qualified to be engineers.  They just didn't get it.  They had to have lots of help.  Then, there were women who were VERY qualified.  My husband, nor other men had problems with women being hired along side of them when they could do the job.  My dh would often talk kindly about who was the women who could do the job.

I don't think any of us care what color or gender another person is that works next to us.  We want the person who can do the job.  I suppose I should take the "we" out of it.  I was a stay at home mom after my first child was born.  Tongue out

I frankly don't know what to think.  If the Republicans have such a bombshell  (they say the intonations give a clear indication of how and what was said and its with Farahkan); Why would they want to give it to Hillary if they view her as the stronger candidate?  And why would the Obama supporters be interpreting a tape that doesn't exist?

Roger Stone is talking to Hannity now on his radio show about the tape.

    http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/06/02/michelle-obama-and-louis-farrakhan-take-on-whitey/

Hannity says they are not going to confirm or deny that they have the tape.-----But Stone says its the Hillary operatives that he is getting the info from.

If Sean Hannity has this he is playing it very close to the vest.

Whenever I think about affirmative action I think about things like an airline pilot or an anesticist (spelling? the one who puts the mask over your face and knocks you out before surgery)...anyway in cases like those I don't give a rat's a** about your color but you damn well better have some credentials! Affirmative is a joke.

For me, I don't care what she said, I don't care for the woman, I have seen her in interviews and speaking before crowds and she is a racist. So good for her, personally I could care less what Michelle Obama thinks about anything but she is right up there with Wright, Jackson, that other fool in New York (can't think of his name) and Farakhan in my book.

Here is the thing---people are quite willing to forgive what goes on between people at their dinner table.

And it seems allot of people are willing to take Obama's word that he wasn't there even if he sat there twenty years---

-or his reasoning that people don't agree with everything that their Pastor says.

---But if there is a tape--it won't be someone elses words---

I think it would be a deal breaker for many people.

Whether it exists I guess, we will only find out in October.

If not, it was one heck of a fabrication from Clinton operatives...........

Mark Penn is supposedly another source for the existance of the tape.

Perhaps the Clinton faction does not want to put their name on the tape because it will tick off the rest of their party. But, she stays in as long as possible, until Obama self destructs?

On the other hand, if it is in the hands of a Repub. it would be better to release it later when the dem nominee is set?

In any case, Michelle is always so angry and dour looking. Americans want a cheerful first lady. Even though we are not electing her per se, she will have a negative impact on a lot of voters.

My feeling is THEY will still be forgiven.

I think back to when Trent Lott having to resign as Senate Repuplican Leader because of a statement he made about IF Strom Thurmond had been elected president.  I was so disappointed that the his colleagues and the WH urged him to resign.  And I never believed for one moment that Lott was referring to Thurmond's racial bias in the past.  If the truth is know, I never cared for Thurmond.

Then we have "what's-his-name," the bounty hunter, who made a personal phone call to his son.  Yes, he used the "n" word, but I don't think for one moment he's a racist.  I suppose he never got his show back.  And I don't believe he's a racist.  At least not according to some of his very close black friends.

And then there's Imus.  Can't stand him.

I can't imagine why Michelle should be let off for referring to us as "whiteys" if others weren't IF indeed there is a tape.  After all, she'll be the First Lady which is a very important role.

The good thing about all of this stuff coming out about Obama, is that Chicago politics is finally being exposed for the corrupt mess that it truly is. Chicago is once again living up to it's title of the "Windy City". This nickname was given to it because of the windbag polititians, not the wind off the lake as some people think.

Our state is also a mess. After months of fighting, the State dems finally came up with a budget today, with a 2 billion$$$ deficit, all because their is so much feuding with the dem govenor. It is a political ploy to make him have to make cuts so that they don't have to. It is ridiculous.

Obama was schooled in Chicago politics and then Springfield. How can people think this guy is some kind of new face who will be a uniter? He is every inch a typical pol taught by the worst. I hope that this whole mess will wake up the people of Illinois and get them to vote for some decent candidates in the future. I bet we have a record for pols who go to jail for corruption. I am just sick of it! I won' t pull a Susan Sarandon and threaten to move to Canada, but my husband wants to go to Northern Ca. when he retires. I am beginning to think that living in the land of liberals may even be better than here!

About the Michelle tape, whoever is saying he'll expose it, was suppose to release it yesterday.  Geraldo was talking about it Sunday from Puerto Rico.  It would make more sense for it to come out right before the election though.

What I'm getting sick of hearing is the words people use on TV to describe Obama.  I hear them and start moaning.  I know they are sent there to use those words, leadership, solid judgment, and a third one which escapes me.  Oh change.  I'm losing my mind.  Anyway, there is never a time, and I do mean never, that those words are backed up with how he shows leadership, where's his good judgment, and change to what?  No examples of any of it.

When I am president, I will do________  what?  Has anyone heard him say what the what he'll do?

Rosemary, I agree with your point about Obama's message, or lack of.  Even if you strip away all the gaffes, church debacle, and even his wife, what is he really saying he will do for us?  In my history classes this year I tried to stress to my students to listen for what the candidate says and make your judgment on that.  Most of my students came away pretty confused about both of the democratic nominees.  I may be a conservative Republican and teach at a Christian school in the Bible belt, but I still want to teach the students to find out what a candidate stands for before making their own decision.  Isn't that what the election process is supposed to be about?

Well now its coming out of Bob Beckels mouth..................

    Bob Beckel Says Bombshell Coming

Bob Beckel says Bombshell is heading Michele Obama's way. (Vanity)
    Fox & FRiends ^ | 05/03/08 | mware

Posted on Tuesday, June 03, 2008 7:02:24 AM by mware

If any of you had the opportunity to watch Fox & FRiends this morning, you probably saw Bob Beckel being interviewed about todays political events.

Towards the end of the interview he announced to the Fox & FRiends hosts that he has been told by numerous people,(enough and in a way that convinced him) that a bombshell will be dropping tomorrow about Michele Obama.

The Friends turned white and asked what it might be...was it worse than a college thesis? Bob said—Oh yes, in a BIG way. He said that the Repubs were behind it and it was dumb because it meant that Mrs. Clinton would be the nominee.

So the die is cast, IMHO Hillary will suspend her campaign within the next 24 hours and then the bomb will drop, leaving the Republics to take the blame.

Beckel said that this will make Hillary the candidate. Whatever is on that tape (if it is a tape)it must be a beaut.
