SheerrriiiiiG, you're being talked about over there.  Only thing is they're not using your name.  Just the "attack dog" thingy in your sentence.  I'm a tattle tale!  And proud of it!  Should I go over there and take up for you, you mean person, you.

I had to go into hiding, you began scaring everybody, Moody started letting her guard dog out in the yard at night, Rock got affected by the Moon, and then you started talking about porn.  I hid.

Rosemary--I think what the gals are referring to as the Bible thread is page 99 of the Obama thread, including posts from Torchsong and others.

    Susie,

Good to see you back and you sound rested.  I don't understand....  there is a Bible thread here that Moody began.  Are we talking about the same thing?  It doesn't sound like we are.

Had a lovely time and lots of eggnog and Springerle cookies and warm weather--CNN, FOX and MSNBC--all news was banned from my friends house plus no internet.

And, don't let Moody act all innocent.  Here's her picture.

Thanks Susie and IBC, I finally found it.  I thought I was making it up there for awhile.  I read it yesterday, and today it was gone.  Very profound.

I hope you all are looking at the moon tonight.  It's twice its size.  I figured with the moon growing in size, time to get reacquainted with the Good news.

Some people just can't get over the hate for Pres. Bush and VP Cheney.  They want them "tortured" like the guys who kill our troops or who had a hand in killing 3,000 of our citizens.  I wonder what it felt like to be in those towers..terrified..not know what's going on...jumping out of windows...being in that airplane knowing that it was hijacked...knowing that they were headed for the WH...those folks on the phone telling their loved ones goodbye..the Pentagon...didn't know what hit them....people being burned alive just like int he towers...I WONDER how it felt on 9/11 to be the recipient of these RADICAL ISLAMIST TERRORIST!  I WONDER how the family members of the murdered, innocent citizens felt that day.  I can never know.  All I know is how we, the American people, were glued to the TV for weeks not believeing what we had witnessed.

I'm not for torture.  But I'll be damned if I'm going to bash Pres Bush for getting info from one of the leaders..hell..torture?  Torture is to KNOWING you're about to get your head chopped off...or hand chopped off.  I'm sure a little water up the nose isn't fun.  But I'm sick and tired of hearing how Pres Bush and VP Cheney need to be tortured like our enemies.

    Damn!

Actually, IBC, they took my porn site down.  I wasn't selling too many videos are DVDs.  And the government absolutely said NO when I put my hand out for a bailout.  Here's why.

I'm gonna get kicked off here. LOL

Cam and I went to an antique shop the other day.

I got a "joke" e mail today about what old people say.  I now know I am an old joke.

"what do old folks say when they go to an antique shop"  Oh I remember that,,or I use to have that"   That is exactly what I said many times when we were in the shop.

Yep, I'm antique also.  When we go to the Cracker Barrell to eat I look all around and remember man of the things hanging on the walls.  I love to look at the toys for my grandchildren.  I was telling my 6 year old granddaughter about pick up sticks and how I played with them. I'll have to get her a set.

Somehow we antique people did pretty well without all the new technology.  Oh, but what I would have given to have a computer when I worked as a legal secretary.  No white out..none of that little piece of paper that you put over the mistake that you type over to white it out..NO carbon copies.  I think I like technology. LOL

I must be getting senile, I thought I posted about Bush's last press conference but I don't see it.

Anyhow here is the shorter recap. Bush gave his last press conference and he came accross as a very sincere and kind man. He discussed his presidency and all the challenges he had in a very open way. I haven't seen him that relaxed for a long time.

He also made a funny joke: "I am not the type to sit on the beach in a straw hat and Hawain shirt, especially since I quit drinking"

ijl, I watched the press conference also.  Until one walks in his shoes (and that has been made fun of) or any president's shoes one doesn't know the awesome responsibility on their shoulders.  And you heard that EVERYDAY except Sundays he had meetings with intel.  I saw the interview with Brit Hume last night between he and his dad.  It was good!

I think PEBO may be getting an eye and ear full of things going on that he never knew.  There will be big decisions to be made.  I just hope PEBO will do what's right for this country.  Not what's good for his popularity.  You heard dubyah talke about how he made his decisions.

I liked the fact that President Bush will not be ANOTHER JIMMY CARTER!  He will not be going around attacking PEBO.  That's because he loves this country and will do what's best...KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT!  LOL

When I saw the photo shoot on TV after "living" presidents met with the incoming president I noticed Carter had just a tad bit of distance between himself and Clinton.  He didn't look comfortable with the group.

Anyway, yep, Pres Bush seemed to be in a good mood.  He was very forthcoming.  I liked the fact that when asked what he would do first he said something about fixing coffee for Laura (at the ranch).  That was so sweet.

Robinson, 61, said both Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will attend the event, and Obama is expected to speak. As for himself, Robinson said he doesn't yet know what he'll say, but he knows he won't use a Bible.

"While that is a holy and sacred text to me, it is not for many Americans," Robinson said. "I will be careful not to be especially Christian in my prayer. This is a prayer for the whole nation."

I guess if you are going to have an Episcopalian say a prayer shouldn't it be a "christian prayer"???

I guess if I were Muslim, I would  be upset that it was a christian altogether.  As an atheist, I'd be upset.  I think God and religion and prayer should be kept out of the inauguration altogether.

I am Christian .. but if this were a Muslim president, I would be angry to be forced to listen to him invoke the name of Allah from the platform.  So, sitting in their shoes, it's gotta be just as hard. I don't understand our government most of the time.  It was different when it was first started and everyone was christian -- it was fine to do that but it's not that way anymore (even tho most of us would prefer it was that way).

And PEBO said yesterday that he is going to take Cheney's advice

"If I had advice to give it would be, before you start to implement your campaign rhetoric, you need to sit down and find out precisely what it is we did and how we did it, because it is going to be vital to keeping the nation safe and secure in the years ahead," he told CBS Radio.

He said that despite the rhetoric, he would take the time to look at the facts.

Wow, miss one day of reading and boy is there a lot that has happened here!  I agree with Vivre does no good to read a thread---any thread---that you know you will disagree with.  And if I disagreed with something I saw on a thread that I knew I was gonna disagree with before I got there, I wouldnt be surprised that I disagreed.............now I am confused......

I love smiley faces and hide behind them frequently especially if IBC has been dieting and can't conceal me any more.  I have been known to hide behind Shirley....... but now she scares me....

I could care less about who is getting tatoo's and of what and where.  If someone wants to keep info private, probably not a good idea to post on a public forum.....cuz if you do, you forfeit your right to secrecy and open the door for comments.......just saying.

And the two most "controversial" subjects, perhaps in the history of the planet are religion and politics..............go figure.....

Sherri, I feel old too after Moody's post.  Come to think of it I felt old before hr post.  Oldies to me are late 50's (I was very young but loved music and songs lasted a long time back then), 60s and some 70s.

I wonder where they're going to take the prisoners from Gitmo who's country doesn't want them.  That will be interesting.

    Evis is King

The Lettermen, The Association, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rick Nelson,

Then.....Vanilla Fudge, The Doors, Iron Butterfly, Cream, The Byrds, The Band, Circle, Beautiful Day, Steppenwolf, Grand Funk Railroad, Jackson Brown, Led Zeplin, Catus, Fevertree, Johnny Winters, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Blind Faith.

With Moody, anything before the second season of American Idol would be oldies.

Which reminds me, I have not said anything about dieting, yet Moody referred to it.  I started a Medifast diet last Sat.   Now I wonder who is stalking who.  I,m moving and gonna change my name, just to be safe.

Obama said closing Gitmo would not be easy... in fact he acknowledged that some prisoners are guilty and that it is going to be hard to know what to do with, especially if they know they are guilty but the evidence is tainted.   .. ie like when someone confesses to a crime when they have not been Mirandized, I am guessing, or if a known criminal pointed the finger first and then evidence was found, or evidence illegally obtained ... still guilty but "tainted" evidence.

Yeah, that Moody!!  Someone left Slim-Fast outside my front door .. with a card signed, "hint hint" .. hmmm .. who could that be??  STALKER!!

Oh come on Sherri, that seventies music was not so bad. Now admit it. Disco duck sends a tingle down your leg, and I know you love to boogie to the Captain and Tenille

Love, Love will keep us together. . .

Oops, I did not mean boogie, I meant DO the HUSTLE!

Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end.

    Okay, I will stop now.

STOP, in the name of Love!

sorry, I could not resist one more.

Did anyone catch Bush's press conference? I thought he was really honest and I loved that he finally lashed out at the press. And he was such a gentlemen when they tried to get him to criticize Obama and he would not do it. He showed a lot of class. Not like that idiot carter who thinks it is just fine to go around the world slamming Bush. Carter is an embarassment to this country. The whole world will see Bush exit with class and he will be such an example of what a wonderful democracy we have. We change adminstrations without guns. No one has worked as hard as Bush has to make sure the Obama team comes in prepared. Clinton never gave the same courtesy to Bush. I was very proud of him today.

I thought Bush did great today ... he certainly is not a villain .. things did not go according to plan, like he said.  He and the rest of the government had some really bad advisors!  Carter is a boob! Nothing good came out of his term .. the only reason he is in the limelight now is dems think that finally there is a worse president!  But they're wrong again.

Clinton was a good president but a poor loser .. not that he lost but Gore did .. no class when he left. I don't understand why some of the dems are not giving credit to Bush for doing this .. he could just do the same thing that Clinton did to Bush and that Carter did to Reagan.

I really think that Obama may be seeing the light.  Pres Bush has made sure he has kept him up on everything.  Thinks look quite different with your eyes wide open!
