Too answer the question about "snipe hunting" -- it is basically a practical joke you play on someone. The "snipe" is an imaginary creature and the "hunter" is usually given a whole set of crazy, weird things they have to do to catch it. Usually the "hunter" is led deep into woods by his fellow pranksters and then left to find his way back to camp... it can be a lot of fun. And yes, I've been snipe hunting...
