LUV LUV LUV LUV LUV all the pictures shores, beaches, water -- it's all uplifting to me.
Well I spelled the name wrong of our newest bundle of joy. It is to be spelled Maisie Ann..... never trust my dearest again -- on reading such important news from an email. LOL. No monogramming was in the words so no harm, no foul.
I thought the very same thing -- wouldn't it be the cutest thing in the world to have a girlie red-head for that family? There's actually more theoretical validity to it happening for them, as the mommy in question is a blondie blond with the scent of strawberry in her locks, my DH the biological grand-dad in question was strawberry blond and his brother more of a red-head/auburn.
Little red that we do love took a tumble while doing her ballerina impression of twirls the other night and crashed into a corner that ended up requiring a trip to Children's Hospital and stitches. Good thing I was no where nearby, as I don't deal with blood very well. They got back home by 1 in the morning. The neighbor friends kept both boys in a sleep-over. What an adventure.
We will be headed back to them this time next week -- so hopefully she'll be muchly healed by the time we get there.
So I'm down to my last f-u-l-l week here in our haven. I plan to return for not quite a week at the beginning of Oct., if all goes without a hitch.
It is so bittersweet to be pondering our departure.
We soooo love it up here!!
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
Everybody have a great week & be careful during all ballerina pirouettes. No hospital trips for twirling, please!!!
Edit to add a picture to launch a new page:
Here's the marina at the end of our block a couple days ago. Very much like the one that was photoshopped to include our #32 swan boat with captian. This is just a slightly different angle from the first shot! (More flowers, less sky scape: ENJOY!!!!)
-
With all your travels, you need some downtime..relax is the key word here
-
Mariegal..............your right this is the best time at the shore.............all the shoebies are gone, traffic eases, a trip to the boardwalk isn't like a nightmare, and the stores are not crowded.......in other words, we get our island back..........................would love to be there longer, but the kids have school, so all the daughters don't want to make the trip................very little time down there this year.........hoping next year is better..........guess I should say............less time then normal.

Shucks Lisa, I was the one asking you to help me find MY album in Picasa!! I knew I couldn't post from Picasa but it did give me a chance to make an album. So I did. Now it's gone. Probably being printed up and sold for millions over the internet...sigh. I HATE some technologies!

-
Certainly don't want to be a downer, but I think it's appropriate in remembering the family, friends and co-workers of those who perished on 9/11.
-
absolutely Coonie. perhaps we can also honor with a beach as well
-
There have not been many days since that day that I have not been reminded of or remembered that day and everything that happened. I do wish the First Responders would be front and center at the memorial service in NYC on the 10 year anniversary. It is awful that they have been told there is not enough room for them to attend. I better not get started on that since it is late and I need to get to bed so I can get up tomorrow ready to take Chrissy to see SV for a few days.
-
Look where I was last night..
-
Aaah, Lisa, peaceful.
-
Well it's literally taken me ALLLLLLLL day.
But I got it done.
I posted a lengthy blog post about my picture book, "Red, White and Blue" and attempted to put dozens and dozens of links and resource ideas etc. for teachers to use for 911 with their students/children.
Anyhow. I can see that even though the post has only bee 'live' for not even 12 hours it is already the fourth highest 'ever-viewed' on my blog. Today I had 938 blog post distinct visits. This is a new all time high for me. I used to get somewhere between a couple of dozen and maybe 50 or 60 in a 24 hour time period.
It takes me an immense amount of time (to do this the 'right/connected' way) but I'm attempting to grow up & figure it out.
I am gradually figuring out how to get 'linked-up' with other educational blogs & it is making an immense difference. I have a million things to learn, but I'm definitely making progress.
If anyone hasn't seen the book -- this is a good 'over-view' of all that was involved.
it really does help my blog-status if you will go there and read. If you can figure out how to leave a comment that's even a gazillion times better -- though I know that it's enough to drive you crazy.
MaryLou, it's always good to see you. Sit here & reflect, just as long as you like.
Barbe. I decided to give up riding the bike. I attempted a couple of times this summer & even on the flatest of grounds it really made a mess of my LE issues. My arm is getting better & better, but my chest/trunk is really in nearly continual pain & gets extra puffy/painful with the least bit of provocation.
I was getting so depressed with my efforts, I decided it was better to give it a rest this summer. Maybe next year I'll give it another go?????
I can seem to handle my yoga class, as long as I don't over-do & take adequate rests on long poses.
Everybody have a great week!!!!!

Hmmm, my truncal LE has been worse this summer than any other too. I wonder if it has something to do with air pressure or heat or.....??? I don't wear any compression on my chest and can't imagine it in the heat!
-
my le therapist has me wrapping in a ace baandage, real loose for the truncal, and its really helping. its' where the "dog ears" were...she says it collects there for most bmx ladies.. maybe that'll help.. i don't even leave it on long, just till it reduces. leave it on in the ac, its on all day right now, its so darned hot!!
i can't believe by next month, or for sure, nov. we'll be covering the plants to save them from the cold. its the hottest month here in sept..1/2 way done!..3jays
