Love, love, love your pics, Chrissyb. You live in a beautiful country!
-
I agree! You can certainly see God in the landscape of Australia....
-
Fathie..saw some daisies today and thought of you...
they made my 2 mile walk today a good one
-
Some cool beaches here. http://s901.photobucket.com/albums/ac213/barbaraarcher/Cruise%20Pictures/
-
Barbara, now that is the way to cruise !! what luxury
-
Lisa, your flowers are a burst of sunshine! Outside my window today was kind of grey and monochrome, so it is a feast for the eyes.
Barbara, wow! That is a dream cruise, and I love all your dresses.
-
We spent the day on the actual beach, today.
We're in Naples visiting friends.
MUST download pictures!!!
I think I may have one or two hundred that will make you smile!

We've often spoken of how we like to see the water "glisten" in the sunlight.
We've often spoken about birds-in-flight.
Look what I captured (quite by serendipity) this afternoon:
Sometimes ya just get lucky.........
-
what a nice sparkle to the water with the bird in flight
-
I was just uploading some of my photos and putting my signature to the them when I noticed these three little penguins sleeping on the rocks. I didn't even realise they were there as I took this with a 300x zoom.
-
Can you spot the penguin and the seagull?
-
Wow Faith have to show that one to my DH.Well done.
Chrissy I have now put Austrailia on my bucket list of places I want to travel to.It was supposed to be after Egypt but I guess that a visit to that courtry has to be delayed for ayear or so.
-
Would love to see you down under Muma! Come visit anytime.
-
Mum, can I come too? I think I can fit in your pocket. I promise I won't squeak. As long as Chrissyb doesn't have mouse hungry cats...
Love the penguins, Chrissy. Gorgeous photo, Faith. Light dappling on water with a soaring seabird. Is that a pelican? Wow! I remember a small group of them flying directly overhead at the beach in SD in perfect aerial formation. It was quite a sight.
-
I've never seen pelicans fly high, that must have been something MissB!!! I thought they were very lazy birds, when the fish boats came in they would just "drop" from a rock to catch the fish thrown. I've never seen them fly more than about 20 feet! heheheheehehheh
-
I think the lazy theory is probably right...I usually see them perched on a rock. I guess they have to get around sometime!
-
They are actually quite graceful fliers. We often get flocks of brown pelicans here. I love to watch them circle and dive.
-
I could just smell salty ocean air when I read that, Chabba. I love the fish buckets they have for beaks!
-
-
Wow! I've never seen the underside of a pelican! heehehhehehehe
I've taken pictures of flamingoes flying overhead and the underside of their wingtips are BLACK! You don't see that at all when they are standing around eating shrimp....did you know flamingoes are born grey and they have this gland by their eye that demands the salt, which then turns them pink? Something like that anyway.......
-
Yes. I've seen quite a few 'lazy' pelicans in my day -- around docks as you've mentioned, but above the ocean they are amazing to watch. Yesterday & today they would soar just as pictured above. We were entertained all of each afternoon -- watching them soar so amazingly gracefully and then on a dime they made a 90 degree stop, mid-air and literally dive in a heartbeat into the ocean.
I'd forgotten how they do that. Yesterday must have been especially 'perfect' for their dive bombing below the surface. It's absolutely incredible to imagine how they can do that?!?!?!?!
I'm talking about them flying up at least 40 feet in the air, when they make their immediate descent. Hmmmm. Wonder if it's on YouTube??
Anyhow, here's my collage of the kites from yesterday:
-
gosh, they are everywhere..
-
did somebody say divebombing pelicans?
-
-
they are taking over!!
-
Wow!!! That is a pretty type of pelican with a golden beak and orange feet. Stunning photos. What type of camera do you have, Mum, if you don't mind me asking?
-
I posted this on another thread but also wanted to share it here. This is a photo of part of me (before I got my tan!) -- pretty well shows all that I did the past week. Well, I did swim, snorkle, and drink yummy cocktails too, but lounging figured big in my 'activities'. No cabana boys like we see on this thread. Boo-hoo!!
-
What a serene sight, Konakat. I turned my sound spa to ocean sounds to look at it. Ahhh.....nice.
-
(((((((((((Konakat))))))))))))))))
I'm so gald that your travels were safe & that you had the opportunity to bask in the beach and all of it's healing power.
Thanks for sharing the picture, here, too!!!!
xx00xx00xx00xx
We all get to live a little through one another's adventures.
How was the snorkeling? Did you see anything wonderful??
-
Ooooooooooooooooooo
wowowowwowowowowowowow!!!!
Those are amazing pelicans on the straight down dive..... of course, our resident tinyfishy would have the exact photograph, of the exact act of diving that I was blathering about.
wowowowowowowowowowowow!!!!
Lisa, it's fun seeing them in your glorious shot of the scenery.......
The parallel pelicans are breath-taking. Simply breath-taking.
This thread is so very amazing!
wowowowowowowowowowowow!!!!!!
