We measure the snow by how far up the sliding door it is. We've had it over 3 1/2 feet! That is an area that doesn't get shovelled so it's the actual build up, melt, build up....

We measure snow if we see white on the ground.  Then "It snowed".

The Pacific is usually pretty cold near us, makes you get a "headache" in your feet when you wade.

Your right Pacific ocean is cold but will not stop ocean addicts like me from jumping in.

Mum you are a very hardy soul. Not one toe of mine goes in any water until it is a MINIMUM of 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Did I mention I am a wuss?

I am sure it is and I am in it a lot, as I live 1/2 mile from the beach BUT not until it warms up.

It never warms here.  We do get surfers, but in wet suits.

Here's a look at our DD#2 on the beach at Pawley's Island, where her inlaws live.

They visited with them last week before joining us in Augusta:

    From her FB page.

    Here's her DH, my SIL............

Just absolutely LOVE this picture of him

Hope that it makes you smile:

Here's to kicking up your heels at the beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Haven't seen any snowflakes here in Ocala, tho there was a hard frost this morning. We got our library cards this afternoon -- so I guess that it's official! Unpacking continues.

It was pretty sweet going out this afternoon in our jacket sleeves.

    xx00xx00xx00xx

Hubby got my computer 'cleaned up' from latest Trogan Horse attack. Geeeesh. Who creates these monstrosities?? Thank goodness he could get me back up and running!!

We have lost a video DH made for DS#2 before he went into the AF.  DS lost his copy and would like us to burn him another, and we cannot find it on the old computer.  I can't imagine where it is, because we rarely trash anything on the computers.  Scary when our lives are so intertwined with a little box.

I think I struck a pose like that about 6 years ago when my boys were teaching me to skim-board.  You are right, barbe, the landing wasn't pretty and I rattled every joint in my body.

If I'm near water, it's like a pull - I can't ignore it even if I try, I just have to go and at least stand and look for a few minutes even if it's not warm enough to go in.  I'm like those turtles!  We get near the beach and I start getting antsy...I have to see it, have to hear it, have to smell it.  It restores me in some way.  I'm incredibly lucky that I get to be near water a good part of the year at our trailer down the shore.  I'm about a minute by car from our bay which is like a small ocean!  Ahh...nice things to think compared to when I was walking through piles of snow today when going for annual eye exam!!   Just for that I think I'll post a picture of my Hideaway Beach on the Delaware Bay :)

Marlegal that makes me want to pull up my chase and soak up the sun. Relax and enjoy.

Faithie, it was down to 28 in S FL. What a change for us - a 45 degree difference than what we had last week. UGH. Don't have enough sweaters so having to layer at work. Glad you made it past the boarder before they closed it for the season! Wink And by Jan they start charging per carload!

oh my, lots going on here! Love Seals (Navy family here), Christmas magic turtles, and familes. Smile

BTW... for Christmas my dd got the flips w/warm stuff (forgive my loss of words today) but the ones presented a few pages back. Couldn't believe it.

    Stay warm everyone.

Meece, puffin up here too, but not caring this week.  Hub and I are both on vaca and acting like we're at a resort.

Lisa, why in heaven's name would you go near the scale this week? Ha!  I figure two weeks before I give that a go again.

EWB, good to see you here!  Too funny about DD getting the flip-flops with the fur (say that 10 times fast ... I didn't make it past two!)

Barb, we won't see those temps around here till May or June!!  It got up to about 40 today and I had to change jackets to a lighter one today in between errands because the sun was making me so warm!!
