I am not likely to have tips.  I barely wear makeup and  have been on occasion known to use my lipstick as lipstick and blush.  I have sparse eyebrows but they are there and they are mine.  I have full, perfect lipstick lips.  I was asked to model lipstick in my younger days but then I smiled and my teeth were not perfect.  End of career.

I agree with Tina, Marin-- cutting open the same scar is better then making a different one. They cut it open, and can thin it out, and it will heal flatter and more even. It will be more red for a time, but it's worth it.

I had my ab scar revised, so while the ends of the scar are completley faded these days, the center is still light pinkish/alsmot white, but it was totally worth it, b/c it is thin, and a paerfect straight line, whereas before it was bumpy and rigid looking.

Dream- I would love to have your lips! never mind not ever finding the right color and shade- it just looks wrong on me. I end up using BertsBees tinted chapstick. Love the idea of lipstick but not in my story sigh.

    Ladies, I need your suggestions.

Since my hair came back I have let it pretty much do want it wants but now I'm finding that this has allowed my natural part to become exaggerated.  It runs down from the front towards the back but on the left side and then does a little jog.  The hair on the downside has been lying very flat then swirling a bit.  It's hard to keep it all together so the part isn't looking like a lightning streak down the side/back.

I know this is partially a matter of re-training and since I haven't been setting my hair, etc. this hasn't happened.  I did buy some hot rollers a while ago and have started using them and they do help but after a day or so things fall apart again.  I hate washing my hair every two days but will if I have to.  Bah.

Any ideas of how to help re-train my hair not to lie flat on the side?

Geez, if you can figure that one out, let me know! I have the flattest hair around. Still can't figure out why women use straighteners as I love curls.

Just wet it in the morning with little butterfly clips til its dry.  You only have to wet the hair that you want to retrain.  Not your whole head.

Could also add some gel to it when it's wet to dry and that should help it stay down.

I'm trying to think of the right advice for your part issue. Does your hair only part one way due to the length, cut or just the way it falls?

If it's just the way it falls, you can change that by using product when it's wet, and positioning it where you want it.

But if it's the only part you can have based on the length, and the way it is cut, you may have to see your hairdresser to change the shape.

With long hair that is layered that doesn't have straight across bangs, you can part it on either side or in the middle-- but I know the length of your hair- so I know that's not an option.

I think I need to see an updated picture and then I can totally advise you. Cause if you can part it down the left side, you can flip it and part it to the right if it's all one length. And as far as the zig zag lightening bolt you can fix that with product, OR, when you get out of the shower, and your hair is wet, if you have a three way mirror, and you can tilt one to see the back of your hair, you can take the end of a needle comb, and move pieces from one side of the part to the other to make a straight line... I think that's a lot of work though- it's not like people are looking at the back of your head.

When was the last time you turned to a girlfriend to gossip and said, Look at the part in her hair....it's so uneven... LOL.

Send me a picture and let's see what your working with.

    Will do.  Thanks.

Girls, time to get the tush in shape.  Read this.  I have read in a recent magazine that those caffeine products that you massage in really do work pretty well even if they give only temporary results.  http://www.skinstore.com/content/newsletter/best-asset.aspx

I drink tons of soda with caffeine and it doesn't seem to help. Seriously, squats and lunges - that will lift and firm the tush.

Raye, I think you have to massage the lotion with caffeine in the skin, not drink the caffeine Laughing.

    New product report:

Sally Hansen Naturally Bare waxing strips "for faces and little spaces"

You don't have to heat these little strips up, just warm a bit between your palms prior to application.  There are two shapes:  a little square and a small oblong.  You can re-use each strip until it won't work anymore.

YES!  These really work with no muss and no fuss.  Bought some today at CVS.  I think the box of 44 was about $4.99.  Nothing to break the bank.  AND, it is not excruciating.  Just rip them off like a bandaid.  About the same feeling.

ALSO:  free sample of Olay Hint of Concealer (eye stuff).  Nice and light, no obvious gunk on your eyes.  Unfortunately the "one color fits all" looks yellow around my eyes.  Anyone who uses beige-y tones on their faces would probably find the color just fine.

Still have not tried slapping my thighs with the caffeine concoctions. LOL  Not until S&M night.  I'm kidding, I'm kidding!!!  We are two, old farts.

Thanks for the review. I have decided that I really do want to be vain and get rid of chin hair and grays. Really tried the growing old gracefully thing but all I feel is old. blah. Off to CVS.  Anyone color their hair? or was that a silly question? Anyone do it at home?

I do mine at home and find it lasts longer than the salon! I use Frutis Nurtrisse or something, the green box...

is it permanent or semi? what do you do about roots?

Don't know about whether it's permanent or not, lasts months then you realize the colour has faded. Fructis has a conditioner in the box that you use to keep it looking better longer. My gray is scattered, I'm not pure gray so maybe I'm luckier. I "fluff" my hair or change my part when I start to get roots. I find I only have to colour every 2-3 months that way.

thanks, back to CVS tomorrow Kiss so tired of looking as old as I feel these days. I confess, I am vain, I want to be girlie; nice nails, no gray, no hint of moustache or beard. I do have the Convertible and the red shoes already (that was phase 1 & 2). now onto phase 3.

Hi Girls! I havent checked in in sooo long. Hope you are all well. I see lots of new faces too. Awesome.

Did everyone see where Max Factor is going out of business? How sad, such old Hollywood. Other than trying their two tone mascara, I really didnt use thier products. It's sounding like many others didnt either, hence the problem. :(

I have a fashion question for you all. Heading over to that thread to post.

    TTFN.

My sister colors her hair, she didn't like all the grey. So I now get to 'touch up' her roots once a month between salon visits (usually every 4 months).  I did mention to my beautician that I had considered coloring my hair and she told me, I wouldn't color it if I were you, do you know how much women pay to get their hair highlited like yours is naturally. I guess having some silver highlights has it's advantages.  I do however now have the nice nails, I finally stopped picking at them and they are nice and long and real! I had one manicure last fall and have been polishing them myself since then. not perfect but look good.

I did see where Max Factor was going out of business in the US. I thought the news said it would still be available overseas.

I color my hair at home.  Clairol Second Nature, available at beauty supply stores like Sally's.  It's a great product and cheaper than drugstore kits.  Of course, you have to buy the bottle of developer, 10%, no ammonia.  Still cheaper.

I do my roots about every 4-5 weeks because my hair grows so fast.  Otherwise, the color seems to stay on the hair strands just fine.

Have gone the salon route but it isn't any better is a whole lot more expensive.

Oh, yes.  Also have had some salon streaking to bring the lighter color down into the rest of my hair.  Then I use the demi-perm over it.

Don't color my hair (knock on wood), but do have a slight problem with the facial hair as well Elaine!

On the sides of my face -from side burn to bottom of mid cheek -  it was always there, but much worse since chemo. I've used the Nair facial hair remover, but I tend remove too high and into the hairline and take out an area which should have hair and it looks strange in the very least. I would try waxing, but that would probably have the same effect with my unprofessional technique. maybe I should go to the salon and have it done? I hate to even complain about this, as I am just so happy to have hair, you know?
