Bottle 'o Tamoxifen

wish I was hungry that does look yummy. I felt so crappy today I called the oncologist to complain of a sore lower back/tailbone, and shoulder. Oh and the loss of appetite since being back on the tamoxifen. The nurse said 26 percent of women have a decreased appetite. And bone/arthritic pain is a top side effect. She does not think they want to run any tests on me as I've had quite a bit done lately and all keep coming back fine. She said my chest ct scan showed no bone lesions in my upper body ~ so I guess the shoulder is arthritis. I need to talk myself out of all this crap and get exercising again. I feel like I have post traumatic stress disorder. I called the cancer therapist may consider going on effexor.
-
Alicia - (((HUGS)) to you my friend. So sorry you are down today. This is the place to vent. I know I have arthritic pains. I am taking glucosamine/chronitin and that seems to help. It does not take all the pain away but makes it tolerable.
-
Hi Gals! So I went to my Radiologist for the 6 month check-up! I won't be going back to the dink of an Oncologist. She said everything is great, & that I don't NEED those blood-tests I was getting every 3 months. She will schedule my Mammograms & just see her in 6 months, then maybe it will only be once a year!
I have had such a hard time with this Asthma & Bronchitis this past week! But last night I finally got to sleep a little sitting up! I'm just too old for this crap, dangit!
Tinkertoes! I ain't a gonna be around tonight, so don't make any noise, ha! I mean I'll be around, but tucked into my nice warm cozy soft bed....Just hold it down kids!
xoxoxoxo
-
Chevyboy - So glad your appt when well today and that the radiologist is looking after you. Good news on getting some sleep. We all need lots of that. Speaking of sleep - there is no way we are going to keep the noise down tonight. It is the end of the week and party time! I will try and keep an eye on Tink.
-
Ladies - I'm back. After spending 3 of the last five weeks in the hospital for a Bi-Lateral Tram Flap, I have been a little hesitent to post. My surgery went as planned but three days later I went in to Renal failure and Respiratory distress. I spent 10 days in ICU and underwent an exploratory surgery on my intestines. I finally went home a week later. I spent 2 weeks at home not getting any better.. Went to the doctor last week and was sent straight to the hospital with double pneumonia and severe anemia. After a blood transfusion and some strong antibiotics I am now finally feeling better!!
I have missed you all!
Now i have to catch up on what I missed...
-

Well Welcome back home Dawney! So Soooooorrrrry about all of your problems! Man, I know what it's like just trying to breathe! I don't know anything about the rest, but at least you are feeling better now! Just rest, & drink lots of what-ever....

The gals on this thread tend to get a little rowdy, but that's what makes this so much fun! When I feel so awful, I just check in here, & always find a smiling face or a pillow fight! Oh Wait Dawney! We can Whack you now! Ha, ha! Don't turn your back on either Jo or Tinkertoes.... Those two are in cahoots together! Sherry is also trouble!

I'm back from my BS appt and it went very well. We got a lot of things done today.
He did an ultrasound and I have a very small seroma - too small to aspirate - told me to use hot towels and massage and the fluid will reabsorb back into the breast tissue.
The burning/stabbing pains. He is sending me to a pain doctor - will get the appt on Monday. BS is recommending a nerve block but wants to see what the pain doctor says. 5 1/2 months of this is long enough.
Told BS I have my mammo 2 weeks from today - Jun 3. He wants to see me again on Jun 7 and will get my results even though he was not the one who ordered it. So I only have to wait a few days. Told him my concern about the pain I have now and the plate will sit right on my lump scar more pain. He gave me a script for pain meds to take the morning of my mammo.
I have to say, I was very happy with the appt today and just love my BS. He really takes care of me. I feel better knowing that I am not going to have to wait 3 weeks for my mammo results - I see onc 3 weeks after mammo - onc was the one who ordered it. I feel like I can really relax this weekend knowing there is a plan in place and things are happening.
Dawney - Soooo sorry to hear about all you have been through. Sounds like you are on the road to recovery - glad you are feeling better and back on here. We missed you.
