I have lost weight since starting Tammi - the problem is I can't afford to lose any more. I did gain a few pounds when I went on my cruise but that weight is back off.
-
jo you and me both. Everyone keeps telling me I need to gain weight. But at least I have finally stopped loosing weight. I am so small that I am having a really hard time finding clothes that really fit be right.
-
I, too, have lost at least five pounds when I really needed to put on at least ten. I had kind of hoped I would be one of those who gained on tamy.
-
I would happily donate the 18 I need to lose to put me back to fighting form. I'm not eating near what I used to, but I'm also not exercising at all. I'm in the process of moving and yesterday was a big stairs day for me. Today I'm all sore! 7 months ago, I would never even gotten out of breath!
-
Has anyone ever heard of a type of breast cancer that is called "The difficult child"???? I have a friend of friend that was just dx'd and this is what they called the cancer!
-
GirlFriday - I wish that would work. I battled the overweight issue most of my life starting as an infant. Twenty years ago I topped out at 50 pounds overweight. By making serious lifestyle changes I got down within 10 pounds of my goal and managed to maintain that until 11 years ago when I had acute pancreatitis and lost 80 pounds. I managed to regain 55 pounds of it but now I have to struggle to stay at that and can't seem to put back any more of it.
-
Girlfriday... I have never heard of that one sorry!
Jo Hiiiiii... I am here... hanging in!!!!
I too lost weight on Tam and I cant affor to lose anymore, but I am not sure if mine is Tam or when I get stressed I cant eat so may be a combination of both!
-
GirlFriday my MO says my breast are difficult breast. (meaning they are very dense and very hard to read even on a CBE)
-
sorry I haven't finished reading the posts. I am looking for information about if one would have period while on Tamoxifen. The nurse told me it is uncertain and varies for people. So just like to check if many of the gals on Tam have regular period? I could really use a break from period but not sure. I started on Tam on April 15, had first period on 25 after chemo, not sure if I will have a regular one this month. Thanks. Meg
-
yes i still get my periods but they are VERY irregular evvery 40t day at least...
-
Girls sorry I haven't been on, but I've been reading. The worry was consuming me, I couldn't function. Had the mri this am and just got the call BENIGN!!! They were so nice to me this am, I couldn't stop crying ~ told them I needed to be called asap because I have been very busy planning my funeral. The little nodule in my lung they will rescan in 3 months. Could of always been there. I am not even giving that a thought ! So thanks be to GOD! 2 more dr visits to go. Gyno tomorrow, and then skin cancer scan next week ~ and I am done for a few months. Thanks for your support girls.
And I am one that loses weight on tammi !

Well, I finally decided that enough is enough. I made the call today and got an appt with my breast surgeon for this Friday @ 5:30. So tired of the boob pain. The last two days it feels like I am really sore with the burning/stabbing thrown in at times for good measure. Guess 5 1/2 months is long enough to be in constant pain. Don't know what the next step will be but will let everyone know when I find out.
Hope everyone is having a great day - other than the boob pain I am.
-
glad you did it Jo. Please keep me posted. I have been concerned about you. I also bit the bullet and called and made an appt with the pain Dr for next Friday. I think I can manage until then.
-
At first I was told I could not get in until next Friday. The surgeon has been out of town and is overbooked trying to catch up on patients. He is like that - wants to take care of everyone. The girl on the phone found a cancellation spot for this week - Hooray. I would have waited another week - hell, I have been dealing with this for 5 1/2 months now what is another week? Will keep everyone posted.
Sherry - You will have to let me know how your appt goes. We seem to be having the same problem and will have to compare notes. We know that doctors do things differently.
-
Alicia, so happy for your results, now praying all the other appts turn out fine as well. Keep us posted.
Sandee how is Kitty doing and yourself?
Jo, glad you made an appt as I know I would too as it sounds so painful and no-one should live like that.
GirlFriday, never heard of that kind of terminology and Welcome!
Tink, hoping that you are staying out of trouble and I miss you!
Sherry, how are things with Dad? You probably have posted already, but I am way behind and not sure when I can catch up.
I went to see my RO yesterday and everything is fine with me. I asked her how long I need to see her and she explained to me, that her and my MO take turns and for the first 2 year it is every 3 months and thereafter will be every 6 months for an additional 3 years. I was satisfied with that as she is just as thorough as my MO and I really like her. Not a male and good looking like Sherry's doc's seem to be.....lucky gal.
-
Hello Alicia! So happy for you!!!!! Don't worry hon.....We're all here for you..... Just talking & unloading sometimes helps! xoxoxoxox
-
Jo and Sherry... pls keep is posted! Jo so happy you made the call..
Junie... I miss you too... am I staying out of trouble????? hhmmmm depends on who you ask

Hi Chevyboy!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
June my Dad is doing much better since his surgery. He is even going outside and moving the sprinklers around. I will take him to the Dr on Friday and I am sure he will start chemo next week. And my goodlooking RO really let me down today. I requested my Radiation summary for an upcoming Dr's appt that I have and when I read it I thought who is he talking about because it sure is not me. Said I had mild irritation when it was way more than mild and also said that two treatments were offered to me for my irritation that was never offered and the things they did give me were not even listed. Said I was in good spirits when I finished (if being on Loritab 24/7 is being in good spirit I guess???) Was very dissapointed in the inacurrancy of some of the details. Even had my surgery date wrong. WTF

TINKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!! XOXOXOXO

Thank you all...I felt great when I got home last night...made supper, thought about packing, tossed down my vitamin D and echinecea as I felt I was coming down with something and BLAM!!! The damn pill got stuck...did my best no to panic and drank water, tea, water, tea...called the pharmacist and asked what to do if you think a pill is partially lodged in your throat...old me to do what i was doing and if it did nto resolve itself in about 30 min to get to emerg....so...guess where I spent 4 hours of my evening????Ifelt incredibly stupid but was also concerned enough about lying in aprone positino that I knew I would not sleep so....3 and a half hours in the waiting room, then a quick visit with the doc, an xray of my throat and was informed that a. nope..all gone b. one of the heart pills can cause your esophagus to swell a bit as it is irritated by the meds..but it will resolve itself...and c. he was impressed by how calm I was (112/70 when I came in to the emerg in a panic)...how is that for calm?!? wheeha..came home and slept from2-7:45///pooped now...and had a full on day..skiped my cardiac classes as I knew I was way oo irritable to be in that environment so will take one of the classes in 9 weeks and will just deal with having missed a cardiac class...Yowser!!!!
My kitty cat is doing very well again...fat, and purring and using her litter etc...so now I can go with peace of mind...a few friends are going to kitty sit while I am gone so I won't worry about her....I hope.
Also got an appointment with the lymphodema physiotherapist for June 14th and I enquired about bras that do not dig in to your shoulder as that is my current issue....very small in the grand scheme of things but it would be nice to find a solution if possible
Sherry- drag about the hot flashes..time to get the electric fan out and aim it at your side of the bed
girlfriday- might as well start it in the rain and be done with the blues hmm? all uphill now!
-
Alicia/Jo/June- YAY all around ladies!!!
-
Sandee - Whew! What a relief you are okay. That must hav been so scary.
-
Sandee how scarry getting a pill stuck. And I do already have a fan, don't know what I would do without it.
-
Sandee ~ so sorry to hear you had to visit the ER. BUT thankful you are ok and the pill went down. I know that feeling. It's awful !

Next month I meet with the PS to decide about going forward with the BMX. My current BS told me that if I want reconstruction at the same time I would have to switch Dr's as she does not go into the city where the PS is and they are the best in the area. So called the PS and got names of two female BS that they like working with. I made an appt with each one. I am going to do this right and interview them and then decide on who I like and trust the most. I am not going to rush into this like I did with my cancer and radiation. I have decided that I have the choice to make and I am not leaving it up to the Dr's any longer. I also made an appt with the pain management Dr for next Friday. The current meds I am taking for the pain do work but this last week I have had increased pain. I figure there is no point in getting to the place that I cannot stand it like I did at first. I figure I am going to be in control this time around and if I decide to do it or not it will be with all the information I need and it will be my decision to make either way.
Thanks for all of you being there for me, my tammi sisters
