I'm on Tamox as well. I tried Effexor with it to control the flashes but it really didn't make a difference so I stopped taking them. To think, I have 4 more years of this.
-
I go hot and then I am cold...back and forth..
-
Lisa - don't worry, be THANKFUL!!! Everybody is different.
Mel- I made DH carry everything today!! LOL
-
Nite , nite Sweet Sue. You will feel better tomorrow , I will it!xxxx
Auntie Em and Lisa , I miss Bill Cowger soooooo much!!!!!! He is definately a manly man. He could spit on me anytime!!!lol OK , for you that don't know him , when he would get aggitated , he would spit when he was talking. Oh what a turn on!lol I'm just sayin...
-
I usually get cold first, then hot, especially in bed. The covers are on, then there off - all night long. Except when I have to get up to pee!! I don't think I've slept thru the night in over a year.
-
True...Auntie..true..as long as the stuff is working to keep that darn estrogen away!
Well...kiddos...I guess I will venture out into the tundra!! I will need to brush off several inches off of my car!
I always like a challenge!
No dh here..haha...guess that's good...hmmmm??
-
Well ladies, i have to call it a night. DH wants to get online.
Lisa - be careful driving and Mel - why don't you run around in the snow to stay cool??
Talk to you all tomorrow,
Hugs,
Valerie
-
Night miss valerie..auntie em!

Oh my Auntie Em , I can sooooo relate. While my SO was recovering from surgery , he slept on the couch. And I had my box fan on , on one side of the bed. So I would go to sleep , then throw the covers off and roll to the side that had the fan , then when it was over , roll to the other side and cover up again! Now that he is better , I have to have the fan on my side of the bed and it is by the heater , so I basically have hot air blowing on me! This has to get better!
-
Goodnight Valerie , love you to bunches!xxxx Lisa , Puh-lease be careful! Love you , xxxx
-
Ok...off and running...well...driving..haha.
I will not use my lead foot tonight..promise!
Night..for now..
xoxo
Lisa

Just checking in to see how everyone is. Sue...I hope you are relaxing and enjoying your day off. We are getting pounded with lots of snow. And my 2 girls decided to venture out and go to the movies!
Crazy kids! I am going to be getting some baking and cleaning done today.
Stay warm for those of you that are in the cold like me!

Hi Lisa , yes its a blizzard here! Looking out my window , I can barely see across the street.Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Kids , Oh to be young and adventureous again! I'm trying to get some cleaning and laundry done.
Sue , hope your having a better day today.xxxx
-
Ow I wish it would snow here!!!!
Just cold and rain.
They fireplace is a dust magnet! but it does look pretty with the garland.
We took the kids to see Santa today at the local garden center. The youngest was all Starry eyed. The older one was just trying to be all cool and grown up ha ha.
Later on this evening he said "mummy I do know that there is'nt a Santa, I'm not a baby!"
Its so sad when that happens
So I told him if there's no Santa then he won't have to bother putting his stocking out!
He suddenly changed his mind LOL

Please give me any tips on how you all got through it...I am gritting my teeth but it is too hard....I am wondering if it is that they halved the steroids last time... I will tell them I need the full dose.... I absolutely have the deepest respect for you all..... it is such a long painful process..... and I guess the brickwalls are getting difficult because of chemo...
I have to keep things in perspective and count my blessings....which I truly do....I am so lucky ....but I am only human....and the place I am in now...I feel like I have had no breather since September...
Maybe I will tolerate the different chemo in February better....

Hey, my sweet lovey, you can and you will do this. Each one is DONE, never to be repeated. You will NOT DIE, and you will get through this. I feel so bad, I wish I could come over and sit and talk with you, and play with the boys, take them to the cinema, and babysit while you go get a warm massage. Ahhhhh, I truly, truly am sorry I cannot rush to your aid. I am so sorry you are so scared, you are not going to die, it just feels like it. The principle of chemo is that they bring you as close to absolutely the end of your physical rope for one reason. The cancer cells are slightly more sensitive than your normal cells, and this awful misery, KILLS THEM!!! So while you have to suffer so, this is what is happening.
I am so sorry, honey, I wish something would help. Have they told you you can take anything like aspirin, or Tylenol? Something to help all the aches and pains? Ask them, don't be shy, tell them you need all the help they can think of. And then, use it. Don't be afraid to use anything that will help you get through this and kill bootface, once and for all.
I was watching Keira Knightley being interviewed on the telly, and she said her teeth were all "wonky". The interviewer said, "what?". Oh, she said, that is an english slang word for crooked. So, when you feel "wonky", try things. A hot bath, Tylenol, there must be something that can help these side affects.
Anyway, lovey, I am thinking of you every day.
Love you, Shirlann XXXXOOOO
-
Evenin' everyone.
Dear Sue - when I was at my worst all I kept saying to myself was. "the chemo is killing the beast, remember that". So I say to you-
"the chemo is killing the bootface, remember that". Its doing it now so you can have a long, happy life later!!
We sell something here in the states called Biotene which comes in a toothpaste and mouth wash. It helps with any mouth problems you are having. I hope the sell it there. I don't remember having aches & pains though. Please let the nurses know of any & all of your discomfort. They should suggest things to help.
How are my Ohio ladies fairing this evening? I was watching the Cleveland game and could not believe it was still snowing there. Fortunately, all we got was rain, but lots of it. Yeah, I know, my Ravens stink. The only team to lose to Miami, brother.
Poppy, I also forgot to mention how beautiful your fireplace looked. And the chocolate................YUM!!!
Will try and check in later,
Valerie

Thank you, I wish that I could go through my monitor and hug each and every one of you, I feel doubly blessed this Christmas. Now I can concentrate on Chemo and my grand baby that is due in June.
-
Thanks Valerie X
Sue have use tried using Corsodyl? I have had terrible mouth ulcers and it always helps. Its not cheap but worth it! You can pick it up at ASDA or pharmacies
Give it a go
