OHIO Get-together: Sept

The AmCancerSociety's 5K walk: Strides Against Breast Cancer was very motivational and inspiring. Cneal (from chatline) and I met in the parking lot and had a terrific time getting acquainted. We were given pink 'miss-america' sashes with the word: SURVIVOR printed on them, as well as pink ball caps and pink leis. I thought it was a great get-together to raise awareness and funding.
We'll try again in the future to get the group together.

I have not been on this site much lately - and now, I missed the Get-Together! Ugh! I am so sorry! Will have to keep up with you guys in here - maybe we can plan another soon - I would love to come and meet and talk with everyone. What chat room do you guys talk in? I have only been in there a few times - but would love to join in.

If you do this again in the near future, I'd like to be involved also!
Just diagnosed with ICD about 2 weeks ago, had a lumpectomy and SNB, now just waiting for consultation appointments with medical and radiation oncology.
thanks

Hi everyone,
My name is Evy and I was just dx on 10/3....I live in the Middletown area (halfway between Cincy and Dayton). My bc has been a little different then most as I was pregnant when dx. I hope to meet you ladies and get to know more about each and everyone of you!
ThanksEvy

Evy and Carol..... so sorry you have had to join this club or ours. We're so very glad that you've found us. This is an amazing place for support and encouragement in the midst of the journey.
Know that we are here for you. Count your blessings each and every day. Let's work and pray for a CURE so that our daughters and theirs don't have to have their lives up-ended.
Would anyone want to attempt a get-together between Christmas and New Year's??? You're all welcome back here at my place. Or I'm able to travel.
blessings for the journey: strength and courage

Lisa..... glad that you found us. Right this minute I'm in Napa Valley!! Had an incredible reception yesterday @ my presentation here. Fly home/OH tomorrow. Can then think about getting us organized. ReginaOH and I are planning to meet for lunch in the Polaris area the middle of next week..... we'd LOVE for anyone else to join us that might be available. Let me sort out the particulars with her and I'll post here again soon.
CNeal: good to see your name..... I've been praying for your mom. Wonder how she's holding up? Know that I care about both of you.
Horsegal: is Polaris and lunch an option for you???
Evy: How's the baby? Tell us more baby stories.
Carol: What's happening with your treatment process?
Take good care of yourselves!!

I'm right in the middle of Columbus...north campus area. I gotta say, Polaris the middle of next week will be a zoo!

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I will not be able to join you on the 29th - will be out of town. If you don't do it then, perhaps mid January when things are more slow would be better. I would be available for Polaris area for lunch most any day of the week (not weekends) as I work near Crosswoods closeby!
Thanks-

Any definite plans yet?

SUNDAY. Dec. 30th @ 1:00. My house: Reynoldsburg/east-side Columbus. Let's see what happens. It sounds like the majority have conflicts -- but even if it's just a couple of us again..... I think it's worth the effort. Will give me a reason to straighten the place up!!
If you can come and have a BC buddie please extend the invitation to them, even if they're not active here on this site.
My3Girls: You're 'obligated' to come, since it's now on a Sunday.
faithandfifty-ONE!!
Hope we can get a handful of us together. Will keep attempting this till we sort out the best time for folks.
-
OK..... so it looks like getting together during the holidays was a goofy idea. Will see what we can cook up for the new year.
How about we start planning now to walk the Columbus Komen together? We could form our own BCO team. How does that sound?
Happy New Year. Go Buckeyes!!
-
bumping ...this up for all Ohio ladies. We would like to plan a get together in the early spring!! Anyone interested?

Hi,
I live south of Dayton in Springboro in Ohio. I would love to get together in the Spring!
Linda
-
WoWWWWWW!! Some conversation in OHIO!! LOVE it.
If nothing else before then, I want to give everyone a head's up, that the Columbus Komen Walk is May 17th. I think it would be awesome to get a bc.org team together. I'll get one registered early next week and let you know the name. I have one guest room at my house -- open to the first out of towner that is interested. Also have an inflatable mattress that would have it's own bathroom adjacent to my office/studio and plenty of clean towels for the second out-of towner to express interest.
OH and saints-be-praised, my daughter is still incubating our twins. She is now 26.5 weeks along!! Hallalujah. Please pray, if you're the praying type.
-
Congrats on the babies!! Will be thinking of you, your daughter and the twins.
The Komen Race sounds like a wonderful idea. We are currently house hunting, so I don't know what the future holds, but would love, if possible, to join you ladies. I am from Akron, about 1.5 hours away, so I could drive down the night before.

I would definitely be interested in a "get together" in the spring! I would also be willing to help plan!
-
i've just returned to frigid OH from southern FL...... what a wake-up call!!
horsegal: let's get it together for a spring fling. please promise me that spring is just around the next corner: pretty please.
cat: i know there are some who meet near cinci, have you met luann? she's organized a group down your way and i've spoken to a newly dx'd gal named carol in chillocothe area
raye: thanks for the cheering for the unborn twins.... they are now 29 weeks along and i celebrate every day that they are still cooking!! time's getting closer now!
linda: i graduated from springboro high school: seriously!!! a whole different century ago: LOL!!! i remember it fondly.
still have yet to get our team for Komen registered, must remember to attend to that detail!!
-
newbie to the group, I would love to meet you all, Waverly ohio here.
