    “Come to the edge.”
    “We can't. We're afraid.”
    “Come to the edge.”
    “We can't. We will fall!”
    “Come to the edge.”
    And they came.
    And he pushed them.
    And they flew.

    Guillaume Apollinaire, 1880-1918

I read and walked for miles at night along the beach,
    writing bad blank verses
and searching endlessly for someone wonderful
who would step out of the darkness
    and change my life.

It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.

    "We may run

    walk

    stumble

    or fly

    along the way

    never loose sight

of the reason for the journey

or miss a chance to "see" a rainbow on the way." ~Gloria Gaither~

    Hapiness cannot be traveled to,
    owned, earned, worn, or
    consumed. Happiness is the
    spiritual experience of living
    every minute with love, grace
    and gratitude ...

have helped me to understand better than before,

With the modern diseases (once TB, now cancer) the romantic idea that the disease expresses the character is invariably extended to assert that the character causes the disease - because it has not expressed itself. The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life... Robert Louis Stevenson

Believe in the impossible, hold tight to the incredible, and live each day to its fullest potential. You can make a difference in your world.

The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.
