THE HEART OF THE SOUL...

As metal is forged by the fire
so to is the heart of the soul
made stronger by all of your trials
as you strive to accomplish your goals.
Its so easy to smile when your winning -
when fortune is going your way
but character comes from the struggles of fighting lifes battles each day.
Nothing is real until tested
you never know what you can do until when the odds are against you
you still find the strength to pull through.
So never back down
from the fire while striving
to reach for your goal.
The trials you face on your journey
will strengthen the heart of your soul. TOM KRAUSE

Let Your Light Shine
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are
powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented and fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesnt serve the world.
Theres nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people wont feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God
that is within us.
Its not just in some of us; its in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
Nelson Mandela

Around us
life bursts forth with miracles -
a glass of water
a ray of sunshine
a leaf
a caterpillar
a flower
laughter
raindrops
If you live in awareness
it is easy to see miracles everywhere
Each human being
is a multiplicity of miracles
Eyes that see thousands of colours
shapes and forms
ears that hear a bee flying
or a thunderclap;
a brain that ponders
a speck of dust as easily as the entire cosmos;
a heart that beats in rhythm
with the heartbeat of all beings
When we are tired and feel discouraged by life's daily struggles, we may not notice these miracles, but they are always there.

Hope gives you the strength to keep going
when you feel like giving up.
Don't ever quit believing in yourself.
As long as you believe you can, you will have a reason for trying.
Don't let anyone hold your happiness in their hands;
hold it in your own, so it will always be within your reach.
Don't measure success or failure by material wealth,
but by how you feel. Our feelings determine the riches in our lives.
Don't let bad moments overcome you. Be patient, and they will pass.
Don't hesitate to reach out for help; we all need it from time to
time.
Don't runaway from Love, but towards love; because it is our deepest
joy.
Don't wait for what you want to come to you.
Go after it with all that you are; knowing that life will meet you
half way.
Don't feel like you've lost when plans and dreams fall short of your
hopes.
Anytime you learn something new about yourself, or about life, you
have progressed.
Don't do anything that takes away from your self-respect.
Feeling GOOD about yourself is essential to feeling GOOD about life.
Don't ever forget how to laugh or be too proud to cry.
It is by doing both that we live life to the FULLEST.

Live Everything
I want to beg you
as much as I can
to be patient toward
all that is unresolved
in your heart
and to try to love
the questions themselves
like locked rooms and like books
that are written in a very foreign tongue
Do not seek the answers, which cannot
be given you because you would not be able
to live them.
And the point is
to live everything
Live the questions now
Perhaps you will then gradually,
without noticing it, live along
some distant day into the answer
~ Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926)

"Pink"
Written by Patrick Williams
Dedicated to Annette Williams- Future Cancer survivor
& Women Everywhere Fighting Breast Cancer
How silly it was for me to think
That there was something wrong with the color pink.
Pink was a color which I eschewed-
A color for wimps, wusses, and prudes.
It was a color meant for sissies
And for women who were quite prissy.
They say perspective is everything.
When it comes to pink, the phrase has a true ring.
For, lately, pink is a color I have come to admire.
It is a color of courage that truly inspires.
It is a color that symbolizes toughness inside-
Unparalleled toughness that is cause for great pride.
For the women who sport the color pink
Are much tougher than you might think.
These demure women have toughness in spades.
They are tougher than Butkus, Lambert, or any Linebacker who has played.
These bold souls in pink smile in the face of strife.
Each of them is in a fight for her life.
They laugh in the face of a dread disease.
If that is not tough- define toughness please.
So the next time you see the color pink
Give it due respect and of these brave souls think.
For these brave women have adopted pink as their battle flag.
Respect the color whether it be on shirts, ribbons or rags.
When you see pink, remember these women so brave and tough.
Pray to the Lord that He stands by them when things get rough.
Never again underestimate the color pink
For it symbolizes greater strength than you think. -
AMEN, SISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! debbyfive

When you've reached the goal you've chosen for yourself, set your sights on an even higher objective. And keep going.
When things have not worked out the way you planned, learn the valuable lessons that the experience has to offer. And keep going.
The key to meaningful achievement is not in how clever you are or how lucky you are or in how much advantage you can gain over others. The key is to keep going.
When other people give you encouragement, insight and assistance, thank them for their help while offering your own special value to in return. And keep going.
When others seek to block your every effort, raise yourself up to where you can clearly see beyond their petty, shortsighted attempts. And keep going.
Whatever may come or go or happen or fail to happen, there is always a way, some way or another, to keep going. You will get wherever you wish to go when you consistently choose, in each moment, to simply, thankfully and gracefully keep going.

~ I Shall ~
I am capable. I am worthwhile.
I am beautiful. I am lovable.
I shall accept both my strengths
and my weaknesses for they are me.
I shall never again believe the "lie"
that if I make a mistake,
I am a mistake.
My mistakes are the learning tools
that I shall encounter on my life journey.
When I learn from my mistakes,
I give them meaning
When I give my mistakes meaning,
I can begin to forgive myself,
I can begin to heal.
I shall not use my mistakes as excuses
to give up on me.....
My mistakes are not me.
I shall seek the wisdom to nurture
my heart, mind, body, and soul
so that I may feel more centered
providing an energy reserve that allows
me to climb the mountains in my own life
providing an energy reserve that allows
me to love and support others
who are climbing a different mountain
providing an energy reserve that allows
time for friends, play
and the celebration of life.
I shall allow myself to feel capable
so that I may seek excellence.
I shall allow myself to feel sadness
so that joy may return.
I shall allow myself to feel joy
so that I may be revitalized.
I shall allow myself to feel afraid
so that I may find courage.
I shall allow myself to feel alone
so that I may know me.
I shall allow myself to feel beautiful
so that I may feel free.
I shall allow myself to feel lovable
so that the loving may seek me.
I shall allow myself to feel pain
so that I may heal.
I shall allow myself to feel worthy
so that I may fulfill my purpose.
When I am centered,
I see the perfection in the world,
myself and others.
When I find the world to be imperfect,
I will take responsibility
for painting it that way.
I will look into the heart of a rose,
or the eyes of a newborn baby
and again know perfection.
I take responsibility
for creating my own life story
through the choices I have made;
to blame others is to give away
my personal power.
Who will I allow to write
the next chapter of my life?
I shall seek the courage to believe
in a God or Higher Power
who will laugh with me in the sunlight
or cry with me in the darkness.
I shall make a small difference on this planet
through the work I do.
When I leave I will have done my share.
I shall live, love, laugh,
and learn on my journey.
BJ Morbitzer -

I grew weary of apologizing
To the world
And to myself,
For myself.
My parents said,
"We never had any luck."
That apology.
He said,
"You have a nice face, it's too bad you're . . ."
That apology.
My children said,
"Mommy, why are you different?"
That apology.
I said,
"I'm a cripple."
That apology.
I declare now to hell with apologies!
I am God's own,
Life's own,
My own.
No apologies.

Fall Song
You know a dream is like a river,
ever changing as it flows
And the dreamer's
just a vessel that must
follow where it goes
Trying to learn
from what's behind you
Never knowing what's in store
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores
Too many times we stand beside
Let the water slip away
Till what we put off till tomorrow
has now become today
so don't you sit upon the shoreline
and say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
Dare to dance the tide

Look to this day!
For it is life,
the very life of life.
In its brief span
lie all the verities
and realities
of your existence--
the bliss of growth,
the glory of action,
the splendour
of achievement.
For Yesterday
is but a dream
and Tomorrow
is only a vision;
but Today,
well lived,
can make Yesterday
a dream of Joy,
and Tomorrow
a vision of Hope.
Look well,
therefore
to this day.
Such is the
Salutation
to the Dawn.

Kari
(pardon the interruption) -

like to walk alone on country paths,
rice plants and wild grasses on both sides,
putting each foot down on the earth
in mindfulness,
knowing that I walk on the wonderous earth.
In such moments, existence is a miraculous
and mysterious reality.
People usually consider walking on water
or in thin air a miracle
But I think the real miracle
is not to walk either on water or in thin air,
but to walk on earth.
Every day we are engaged in a miracle
which we don't even recognize:
a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves,
the black, curious eyes of a child - our own two eyes.
all is a miracle.
The real miracle is not to walk on water or in thin air,
but to walk on earth.

There will come a day when your innermost imaginings will become your outer reality. What are you choosing to imagine right now?
There will come a day when your habits will be so firmly ingrained that they'll carry you along without you even thinking about them. What kinds of habits are you working to develop?
There will come a day when you'll suddenly encounter a magnificent and wonderful opportunity that's just perfect for you. What are you doing today that will prepare you to make the most of that opportunity?
There will come a day when all the superficial concerns fall away. What are you doing in this moment to give real meaning and purpose and substance to life?
The things you do today affect not only today. They build you and prepare you and position you for all the days that will come.
That makes this very day your most important opportunity. For the person you choose to be today is the person who will carry you forward toward all those days that will surely come.

I'll Be There
I Miss You:
I Respect You
Maybe You're Right
Three little words can make a difference in one's life. There are many things that we can do to perk up and strengthen our interpersonal relationships. Yet the most effective involves the saying of just three words.
When spoken or conveyed, these statements have the power to forge new friendships, deepen old ones and restore relationships that have cooled. The above three-word phrases can enrich every relationship. -

It is the gap of transition that shakes us.
Those moments before true movement has been achieved,
that bring us to a level of uncertainty.
Let us embrace those moments when change has not yet come.
To see that this is a necessary moment,
before a new race has begun.
In quiet mindful moments the transition shall appear.
As we open up our hearts to hear the silence, we are now willing to hear.
To see past all the dancing of the mind,
as a friend we can lovingly leave behind.
For we are now ready to embrace a new level of tranquility,
that is reflected at a deeper level of ourselves.
As we accept change...We may move forward...Embracing all that is meant to be.
Robin Masiewicz -

Through the woman I can see the little girl she used to be..
Holding on to child like thoughts sifting through her dreams.
Wishing for the rainbows to lead her far away.
to another fantasy and another day.
Dreams of what might have been,
dreams of childhood games.
Days go on forever and we needn't know there names.
The feel of night time kisses and the whisper of goodnight.
safe within the world of peace no hiding from the light.
A thousands days have come and gone,
a thousand wishes spent.
The child she was so long ago, I wonder where she went?
Through the guise of womanhood a space is there to fill.
waiting for the chance to be the child within her still. -

Can You Fly?
What does the caterpillar newly turned a butterfly feel?
Although flying is now within its capability.
The way is unclear.
Yet, through faith in itself, it gloriously takes off.
The beautiful butterfly is forever within each of us.
Trust your heart and yourself,
And you will find you can fly.
- Robert B. James -

Peace and Happiness
Must Come from Within
Whatever a person becomes
On the outside
Must first be believed
In the heart.
We all become different people
As we grow older,
With different hopes and dreams,
Goals and achievements,
Memories and feelings.
No one can ever say that, as a person,
They are all they can be,
For it is then that they
Have stopped growing from within.
In a time of new beginnings,
Continue to grow, to dream,
And to make new memories.
Whatever gives you peace
Within yourself
Will allow others to see
The special person you truly are.
--Shirley Vander Pol -

Count all the things you have, that money cannot buy, and you will begin to see how truly rich you are. Be sincerely thankful for those things, and your gratitude will make you richer still.
Life is indelibly infused with abundance. Yet that abundance is experienced only when it is being put to use in an authentic and meaningful way.
To know great value, allow value to flow from your actions. Real and meaningful richness cannot help but flow into your life in equal measure.
Be thankful for what you have, and you will find new ways to put it to use. Be thankful for what you can do, and you'll learn to do even more.
Let go of the shallow, worldly ideas of what it means to be successful. Realize that you are, already and always, inherently successful.
The biggest blessing is being able to experience and appreciate your blessings. Choose on this day, and every day, to bring true abundance to life.

"Will it hurt?" said Pooh... "It might... but we still have to try and hope for the best..."
How can you get very far, If you don't know Who You Are? How can you do what you ought, If you don't know What You've Got? And if you don't know Which To Do, Of all the things in front of you, Then what you'll have when you are through, Is just a mess without a clue, Of all the best that can come true, If you know What and Which and Who.
-Pooh Bear-
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh!" he whispered. "Yes, Piglet?" "Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you." -
Vickie sidled up to Carrie and Patti from behind. "Carrie and Patti!" she whispered. "Yes, Vickie?" "Nothing," said Vickie, taking Carrie and Patti's hands. "I just wanted to be sure of you."
And I am always sure of you...always sure your here with all the inspiration I need.

Some tension is necessary for the soul to grow, and we can put that tension to good use.
We can look for every opportunity to give and receive love, to appreciate nature,
to heal our wounds and the wounds of others, to forgive, and to serve.

In the deepest depths of you and me
In the deepest depths of we
Lies the most beautiful jewel
Shining forth eternally
Within that precious jewel
Within that priceless piece of we
Lies a time beyond all time

Within that sacred source of radiance
Lies a love beyond all love
