posted here to support Illinois ! technically live in Twin Lakes, WI but work in McHenry Area & went for Rads there @ Sage
it is tough not to go down the second-guessing road - everything is such a rush from the DX and it is hard to make an informed decision in such an emotional state. You just have to take a breath - get as much info as you can - second opinions are always an option - and trust that these medical professionals have been in this game a long time and they know what they're doing.
and you can ALWAYS ask the ladies here anything! Good Luck on your journey!

The gift of attention to each other is “passing on” the love of God. In order to feel love, we have to give it away. We will know love when we give love. Each day, each one of us can
ease the pain of a friend, a co-worker, a child. The beauty of God’s plan for us all is that
our own pain is relieved in the process of easing the pain of another. Love is the balm. Loving others makes our lives purposeful.

Welcome Ginafish---ditto the second guessing. I think we all, if we are honest, feel that way.
You are almost done with your chemo. CELEBRATE THAT MILESTONE. My surgeon told me, " I can always take more, but I can't put back once I take away". And I still wonder if I did the right thing too. But, my Mo, Ro, and PCP all said-- you can keep it. I live in Bloomington, and did my radiation at our Community Cancer Center. (28 treatments, no boosts). It went really quickly. The staff and docs were just phenomenal. Just use your crème and keep the underneath of your breast (if its busty) dry when you go into the RADS treatment. And ask all the questions you need to. They don't mind. They have heard it so many times, they expect it. You have found a great place to get support. This site was a lifeline for me.

Welcome ginafish. Don't second guess. Lumpectomy/MX have the same survival rates. BTW adriomycin is strong stuff. It kicks most folks butts. Hang in there. If you have any energy try to get out and walk, even if it's just 10 minutes. On the good days try for 30 or more. Believe it or not exercise can keep your energy up or at least it's a bit better than not doing it.

It is my choice to care deeply about others. No kindness is too small to be important - the smile to the bank teller, the sincere "thank you" for all kindnesses received, the reassuring hand on the shoulder of a loved one or friend. There is compassion in selfless generosity, and there is also compassion in heartfelt empathy. ~~~~~Robert Louis Stevenson

Wishing you well in what we are all in together ginafish.

Letting go can be a gentle process. Our trust in our Higher Power and our faith that good will prevail, in spite of appearances, eases the process. And we must let each experience end, as its moment passes, whether it is good or bad, love or sorrow. It helps to remember that all experiences contribute to our growth and wholeness.

There are but two roads that lead to an important goal and to the doing of great things: strength and perseverance. Strength is the lot of but a few privilege people; but austere perseverance harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.

Hi all, I am in the western burbs. I don't often post on this thread but wanted to ask you to share this with anyone who might be interested.
This year, prior to the usual Lynn Sage meeting at Northwestern on Oct. 19 there is a Metastatic
Meet Up. We have three great speakers and a nice chance to get
together. It's free. Please share with any MBC friends who might not be
on this board: http://cancer.northwestern.edu/metastatic/thanks!

Hello ladies
I am sorry i have been away but so much has been going on. My grandson was born on April 17th he weighed in at 6lbs 5 oz and 21 inches long. he is growing so fast and is making all those cute baby sounds and smiles a lot he is such a happy baby . i have been trying to watch him when they need a sitter . I had fallen and fractured my right arm so i had to take it easy for a while. Of course no lifting too at least I was able to still work . My second oldest had came out from California for a 4 day weekend it was great to see her .i am looking for a house to either buy or rent the one i am in we found out is full of mold and the landlady will not do anything to take care of it .Hopefully I will find a lace soon . I am also going in to have my left implant replaced it seems to have moved so I will have to schedule a appointment to see the PS never a dull moment !!!
I had walked in the relay for life here too and made the paper! Had a great time doing it and I want to do the one in St Louis too in October . Hope everyone is doing good Have a great weekend !

Trial and triumph are what God uses to scribble all over the pages of our lives. They are signs that he is using us, loving us, shaping us to his image, enjoying our companionship, delivering us from evil, and writing eternity into our hearts. Be happy through everything because today is the only thing you can be sure of. Right here, right now, cherish the moment you hold in your hands. .Barbara Johnson.

Wow !! Momto7, you have had a lot on your plate. Of course, the part about the new grandson is marvelous Congratulations to you and the Mom.
Sure hope you are able to find a house to buy or rent really soon. The mold/allergens around here are sometimes horrific without having to have it be invasive like mold is all year long in your residence. I have found so often as far as landlords go around these parts -- it is al about the money/income and a whole lot less about the upkeep. I think the health dept. should know about the mold, but then don't know is the would make repair conditional anyway. In my real estate class ( but that was some time ago ) people just renting out ( no rental license ) could actually get away with a few "sins" where if you were an actual rental agent, things had to be really up to snuff. Hope it can work out for you soon. You have so much taking place.
Balloon Fest will be here 15th., 16th., and 17th. too. Dh and I usually only go the first night so we can watch the fireworks display which I think is so good. Also check out all the vendors. It makes for a good time and we don't even have to pay for parking as a brother-in-law lives a short half block walk from one of the gate entrances.
Rainy here and has been for two nights and this will make the second day. Glad it is going on now and hopefully will be not going for Balloon Fest. All the 40 to 45 balloonists that come are sponsored by area businesses.....so they are not out of pocket, but I'm sure they'd rather be able to take the balloons up during the three day event.
See you all later.
Blessings,
Jackie

I love Balloon Fest will be going this year for sure! I like the craft booths and like to see what every one has. I hope to be moved before November . I don't think the health department will do anything. Your right about the income part they charge way to much for some places
Praying for nice weather for Balloon Fest on the 16th it will be 1 year I got my implants time flies fast

Quick Hello everyone. Been a little busy. First 2 weeks on the job was great, but busy. Really nice place to work. Great team too.
-
Good for you! It's about time a good job came your way.

In our rough and rugged individualism, we think of gentleness as weakness, being soft and virtually spineless. Not so! Gentleness includes such enviable qualities as having strength under control, being calm and peaceful when surrounded by a heated atmosphere, emitting a soothing effect on those who may be angry or otherwise beside themselves, and possessing tact and gracious courtesy that causes others to retain their self-esteem and dignity. Instead of losing, the gentle gain. Instead of being ripped off and taken advantage of, they come out ahead!
Charles Swindoll -
Judging others will avail you nothing and injure you spiritually. Only if you can inspire others to judge themselves will anything worthwhile have been accomplished. When you approach others in judgment they will be on the defensive. When you are able to approach them in a kindly, loving manner without judgment they will tend to judge themselves and be transformed.

Momto7--Mt Vernon is a nice town. I bet you can find something nice there. I used to know afellow who was the Circuit Clerk-Elias Simpson???? Maybe? Or I could be in the wrong county. Anyhow, I used to drive thru Mt. Vernon on my way to Shawneetown IL from Bloomington---My mom was a Southern IL gal.I love Balloon Fests. We have one up here in Lincoln and I loved to go at night. They called it "moon glow" and the balloons went up at dusk and it was so pretty. But there is now way I would ever climb into one......I got me a good height fear.

The moment you want to make progress is the moment you become an eternal
beginner. The dawn is the beginning of a new day: it symbolizes hope, illumination, and perfection. Every day the dawn plays the role of the beginner.
It begins its journey at daybreak and ends its journey in the infinite sun. If you can feel that your whole being—your body, vitality, mind and soul—represents the ever-blossoming dawn,
then you will always remain an eternal beginner.

Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world.
John Milton -
By going along with feelings, you unify your emotional, mental and bodily states. When you try to fight or deny them, you divorce yourself from the reality of your being.
