One of the hardest lessons we have to learn in this life, and one that many persons never learn, is to see the divine, the celestial, the pure in the common, the near at hand--to see that heaven lies about us here in this world.

The word prosperity comes from the Latin root which literally translates
“according to hope” or “to go forward hopefully.” Thus it is not so much
a condition in life as it is an attitude toward life. The truly prosperous
person is one who is experiencing what Jesus referred to as the life
more abundant. Prosperity is a way of living and thinking—not just
money or things. Poverty is a way of living and thinking—not just a lack of
money or things. Considered in the broadest sense, prosperity is “spiritual
well-being.” This involves the whole experience of healing life, satisfying
love, abiding peace and harmony … a whole creature in a whole universe.

Lovely day outside this morning although Jack Frost is dancing on everything outside. It will warn nicely though and I know the day will be wonderful. Yesterday was almost perfect -- as spending time with family is one of the best gifts and treasure on earth. Had a lets just enjoy each other day.....not hours of cooking....baked ham and a potato casserole with some rolls. I brought cranberry dishes and Millionaires Salad and we sat around the table and just talked -- nothing too shattering -- lots of old memories to share and re-discover, depending on the person whose turn it was to share.
I hope you all had a wonderful time -- making memories for each other.
Peace and love

Hi Ladies! Thought I'd pop in to wish you all a Happy New Year! I stop by on occasion to see how everyone is doing and I'm comforted to see that the IL Ladies are staying well!
Welcome to all the new-comers and of course sad that you have had to join this group. However, you've come to a really good spot to receive validation from very knowledgeable, caring and understanding women!
Daninayd~ I live in the northern suburbs and had my chemo treatments (NSO - Dr. Slivnick) and surgeries at Condell (PS - Dr. Tijunelis). Please send me a PM if you're interested in hooking up some time. I'm out of town right now but will be back for the new year. I'm off work until the 5th so my schedule is VERY flexible.
Happiness, Health & Hugs to all!!!

What a beautiful morning. The sun is out very bright and will be there all day. Well, not hard to guess....we are going to warm up ( feeling like summer almost again ). On the one hand, it is nice, but very odd that we keep going back and forth and not by small amts. It is either quite warm by winter standards, or bitterly cold. Guess we don't know at any time for sure what we will have.
Hope you all have a wonderful day as well.
Peace and love,
Jackie

Life is made up of a series of challenges designed to bring us
to fullness of growth. Meeting them with hope in the future
is the real test of the spiritual person.
Joan Chittister -
Although
many of us probably didn't get a thorough education in the value of a positive
attitude, we can teach ourselves. Simply by making a decision to look
for the good, happy, and beautiful in all things and all people, you will have
completed the first and most important step in learning to accentuate the
positive.

This one a bit of a surprise to me, but rang so true the minute I read it:
"As I learned to accept myself, I began to relate to people on a deeper
level and saw that everyone comes with their own pains and struggles. I learned
to appreciate them for their flaws as much as their strengths, which in turn
helped me to accept myself more."-- Amyra Mah
