Lago- Those liners passed us by! AAhhhhhhhhhh!
-
The team passed us by a few dollars ($7) but none of the individuals come close to our totals!
-
It's a chilly morning, but nice. Headed to the Northwester/IU f'ball game-should warm up by kick off.
Have a great Saturday!
-
Spunky bring something warm. Today is going to start off warm but might drop about 15 degrees! Layers season is starting! I going powerwalking in the park. This is the best time of year for it.

Lago and Renee: My son's place is right above the Blue Mercury on Southport. He used to live at 3709. That area is crazy during the Cub's games. I have driven (and driven myself crazy) there some Saturdays. Ugh!
Got my haircut today for the first time since chemo. Just got it trimmed around the ears and buzzed in back around the neck. It was nice in a weird way to see about 1/2 inch pieces of hair on the cape.
I am so proud of you ladies for raising so much money!
-
U ladies are great--it's a lot of work u put into the fundraising and u'r doing an unbelievable job.
Shannon cll u'r onc just to make sure, but I had that too I assumed it was from Chemo cuz it went away, but (sounds silly) I still have more trouble with my nose that I ever did. every so often I get sores and I never did before. Never feel bad about calling it something worries u or hurts just call.

Hi Spunky, I too was at the Northwestern game today. It was a great game and soooo warm out there today.
Where were you sitting? I was near the field goal line by the camera men. It was a great view. Did you tailgate in the am too??
Just a reminder to all that the evites are out. Please let me know if you can come. I would like to know if anyone else is running the Chicago marathon next week. I am...hoping for cool weather...if you are let me know maybe we are in the same start corral.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this weather too.

Lago- Boo, they're two bucks ahead!

Adey don't tell my DH. He'll donate more $. We may need him later
EDIT:
One of our Illiniois Ladies just made a generous donation (and you know who you are) We are now #1 again!
Adey I just checked you photo one the site. You look awesome. I wish I looked that good with peach fuzz. I really had an aweful shaped head. Big eyes made me look like gollum granted my eyes are shit brown.Notice I cut out the point part of my head
-
Lago, I think your eyes look beautiful--with or without hair!
-
Thanks but I looked pretty pitiful without hair or a scarf on my head.
Not complaining about my eyes but they don't do well on their own. I actually had those strands but once my hair started coming in I cut them off.

A wonderful gift may not be wrapped as you expect

I have been putting off asking my BS about the final path report from my BMX. Last week I finally broke down and called for the results. "No Evidence of Malignancy", I could not believe it, I thought for sure there would be bad cells. But no - none, not even dead ones. Yay!
Just wanted to share my news with the women who have supported me through this emotional journey. Love you ladies! -
Roula that 's awesome.
BTW I might have been on the news today or tonight (channel 5) The Comptroller of Illinios, Judy Baar Topinka held a press conference about breast cancer/Strides walk with the ACS. I was one of 2 survivors who spoke (for 2 minutes). I can post my "speech" if anyone is interested. We are also taping a radio show spot on Wednesday morning. I'll let you know when they're going to air that.
-
Lago, that's great, try to post the speech. I will check the news tonight.
-
I posted my speech on my page on ACS. You can read it there. Note that I did not write the last section about "why I support" nor was it part of my speech.

lago.I think you are truly beautiful with or without hair. I posted on stage IV but wanted to let ya'll know that all of my scan results came back good. No progression and the 1 spot on my liver is only 4mm..way to liitle to biopsy. So my onc said I was Stable..What a Blessing..No tests for 3 more months.
Roula..congrats on your results!

Very nice speech, Lago! How many people were at the press conference? ACS does so many wonderful things. Practical things that really help take some of the stress off patients like arranging rides to chemo and rads. I know of one patient who received assistance from them with the gas expenses for his daily trip to radiation. He had a 200+ mile daily round trip and wasn't working so that really helped. I never knew how much they did until I was diagnosed and started hearing so many great stories. Thank you for getting the word out!
-
Thanks. There were not that many people actually sitting in the "audience" meaning the chairs right in front of the podium. The conference was right in the middle of the food court at 12:00 so lots of lunch people were listening from their lunch seats.
BTW thanks for all the "beautiful" compliments… but I do look creepy in that Gollum photo.
-
Roula and tlangston.... Congrats on your good reports! Fantastic news.
Lago... Thanks for speaking at the ACS event. Your message so true. I think too many of us believed that we were somehow immune to BC, especially with no family history.
Hey, our "Making Strides" team is still hanging on to the lead. Only 3 weeks left to go. -
Loved everything I heard starting from my quote on down.....fantastic.
Hugs, Jackie
