Wish I could join everyone on Friday, but it's doubtful. Maria -- I still have your sweater from the last lunch!
So sad to hear about Wendy. She reached out me last year when I was in treatment, so thoughtful and nice. This disease sucks.
Lemon -- congrats with being done! I'm sorry rads were so hard on you. I am now working out in Naperville/Warrenville. We'll have to get together for lunch sometime.

Hi all~ Is anyone walking in the Komen 3-day next weekend? Will any of you be at cheering stations Fri., Sat. or Sunday? or closing ceremonies on Sunday? I hope to get out to cheer them on and if any of you will be out and about I'd love to make arrangements to meet up. I hope to come down for the walk in October as well.., just haven't registered yet.., a little shy to go by myself though I know that many of you will be there.
Hope you are enjoying the BEAUTIFUL weather today!
Very sad to hear about Wendy.
Btw.., has anyone heard from LisaK (from Zion)?
-
C-squared we will be there. So far we have 10 and I know a few more have promised to join that haven't signed up yet. You will not be alone. I will make sure you can find us.
-
Rest in peace WendyTy.
Back from camping, off to grad party, back later.

So keep on keepin on.
-
camillegal: Hope you feel better soon.
Jackie and Lemondrop: I, too, hope for minimal blistering. I just hope the dress can be sized okay not to cause me too much discomfort. Probably more uncomfortable will be my son when he hears me crying hysterically as he gets married. I will be a babbling, crying fool! I am 10x's more emotional than normal!
-
KJ u'll be crying all right===just get used to it. LOL I know how it feels.
-
HeidiK... just want to wish you well in surgery tomorrow. We will be thinking of you! Let us know how it goes.
-

Heidi, good luck for tomorrow. Sending healing hugs your way
Lago, love the new pic
Blackjack, looking forward to pics. Sorry I won't be able to make it.

I am so sad to hear of Wendy's passing. Every time we lose another person to this disease it breaks my heart. I feel so badly for her family but hope they can find some comfort in her not suffering any more.
When is everyone meeting up at Komen next weekend? I am not sure what we have going on yet, but I may be able to make it depending on the time/location. Any details appreciated.
I have been reading up and catching up on everyone here. Hope you are all doing well. Hugs!
-
heidi---we'll be waiting to hear from u---Good Luck

((((((Heidi))))))
Happy Monday. Cool here this morning.....felt almost cold outside. No humidity today....think that is why.
Hugs, Jackie

Thinking of you Heidi and sending positive vibes and plenty of prayers.
Off to Baltimore-not looking forward to it at all. This will be the first time I'll be with my work team since my dx. All but a couple are in their late 20's/early 30's-they're wonderful people, but I'm anticipating a lot of pitiful puppy looks and the inevitable "how are you's".
-
Thinking of you Heidi. Healing vibes to all facing treatment, in treatment, and recovering.
-
We're all waiting Heidi's news---there are a few of us having different surgurgies today (not me)--Well Monday is a popular day for these so we wait.

All the good wishes and prayers must have done their work. First weekend of SE was not too bad. Yes, Saturday noon was the crash and I slept the rest of the weekend alternating ginger ale, crackers, and dried apricots. Very grateful for leftover Norco for the Neulasta aches. Actually pretended to work out this morning (went to the club and met with my trainer but never really got sweaty), but I'm on the fence on whether that was a good idea. I'm at work and actually functioning, but I feel as if I tied on a doozy over the weekend. Leaving early to go home and sleep. I'm hoping to be back to normal (or whatever normal is now) tomorrow.
-
Lynn it was a good idea. If you have the energy keep working out. Even if it's only a 15 minute walk. I eventually stopped and I swear that's why I got so stiff. BTW the first Nuelasta is usually the worst. It was for me. I ate dried apricots too to keep things moving. Also they have lots of potassium in them too but if you start to get some heart burn you might want to stay away from them.

Hey Lago! Nice new picture

Hi girls -
Just popping in to express my sadness at the passing of WendyTY. She was such a fighter and so positive the whole time she suffered. She is an inspiration to me. Prayers to her family and friends.

Thinking of you today, Heidi....

Take time to laugh.
It is the music of the soul.
Take time to think.
It is the source of power.
Take time to play.
It is the source of perpetual youth.
Take time to read.
It is the fountain of wisdom.
Take time to pray.
It is the greatest power on Earth.
Take time to love and be loved.
It is a God-given privilege.
Take time to be friendly.
It is the road to happiness.
Take time to give.
It is too short a day to be selfish.
Take time to work.
It is the price of success.

Good morning to all. I'm having a busy day....but I'll be getting off early today with most of my chores handled this morning. So....will be looking for you then. Hope you all have a fine day.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Jackie u wake up so happy--my eyes are still blinking staying on the closed side more and my coffe doesn't do it all--I'm glad u have someenergy it actually makes me happy reading u'r posts.
-
camillegal......yes, I do wake up happy. I sleep well almost always so get lots of rest......and my big secret......I'm definitely a morning person. That is when I'm full or energy, enthusiasm, and ready to get it done...whatever it is.
Now by 2 o'clock.....I'm sometimes winding down fairly quick.....but I'm much happier than sad most of the time which makes it easy for me to "pick" myself up if I need to.......a quick cup of tea and I'm back in the thick of things. Every day is something of an adventure and I'm always in a contest....but only with myself to see if I can do something a little better than I did the day before......even if only to make the same things I do daily FLOW a little better. At the end of the day....before I go to bed....I always express my gratefulness for my day.....good, bad or indifferent.....it is meant for me to grow my soul in some way and so one way or the other, it is a good day.....even if I cried about something.
I sincerely hope you all had a fantastic day.
Hugs, Jackie

Jackie: I absolutely love your attitude and I am glad you share it with us. It can be contageous--which is what we need! Thank you!
-
Jackie that's wonderful---I don't sleep well so I think when I do fall asleep and wake up I'm to groggy to feel anything LOL But tat's a healthy atttitude and it does make the whole day better and being active is wonderful too. Good for u.

Howdy Ladies! Sorry it took me so long to post the results, but this one kicked me in the butt. Or maybe that was the pain meds...
I swear if I wasn't sleeping I was napping the last 2 days! But I haven't had a pain pill (or a nap) yet today.
The surgery went well (I did decide to get the lymph nodes removed: family history, the genetic test, and just basic fear of leaving any possible evil cancer cells inside me). And now I have a port, so chemo here I come!
It is always helpful/hopeful to read the comments of everyone and how you cope with everything, including the loss of a friend. The support and love on this board is amazing and even if I don't comment much I do check every day and send prayers/positive energy to everyone.
Initial meeting with MO (medical oncologist, right?) on 8/21 and hopefully a plan for that step. My SIL made me a beautiful basket for dealing with chemo full of crackers, water, hard candy, alcohol free mouthwash, etc. So maybe I will survive the SE.
Love to all -
Heidi
