Good morning!
Thoughts, prayers, and warm tight hugs to you all.

Dropping by to catch up here. Have been thinking of you all while trying to recoup from back surgery. Gosh, when doc warned me about the painful recovery process, I figured that I had been toughened up by my BC experience the past couple years. WRONG! The depression that hit me with BC has revisited me over being hit with this double whammy. I am finally seeing a light at the end of this struggle. Today is going to be a good day! I am becoming more mobile and able to get in a couple short walks everyday and that helps tremendously. Not sure where I would be without my DH.
Lago, I think I might be ready for the ACS walk in October. I just have not been able to follow through on registering yet. Is anyone's DH joining in? There is a Lu Malnati's very near our house and they are sponsoring a 5K Walk/Run on Aug 26th in support of their 3 waitresses that are BC survivors. I have gotten to know two of them. They both introduced themselves to me when they noticed me there in my new baldness and the tears that I was working hard to hold back. Turns out we had the same MO and Rad ONC. Anyway, my DH is planning to participate in their 5K later this month. I may do part of the walk....mainly because I want the T-shirt and the pizza. LOL.
(((((hugs)))) to all. Do something today to make it a better day. I am going to start with a little morning nap! It is a small thing, but I know it will make me feel stronger for the day ahead. -
Joan we have a few DH and family that have joined our team. Our team is not limited to this group. The more people the more we raise for the cause.
-
Joan I'm glad u'r doing better and u certainly have drive. Wow good for u.
-
Joan.....so glad your on the way up now. As far as the little things....little things mean a lot and it is all the little things you do to get there. If there could only be a big thing..........so healing hugs to you....sending you joy and contentment.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Joan-so glad to hear you are doing well. You are incredible-continued healing and better tomorrows.
I had an appointment at Rush today and totally forgot to see if anyone else was going to be there-I'm taking that as a good sign that my appointments are becoming fewer and not such a big part of my life.
Hoping everyone had a lovely day.
-
Spunky you should have said something. I think I'm due for a port flush.
-
My sister goes to rush---her Dr. is Dr Cobley (sp?)
-
lago-yes your could have come to visit Diane Chapman with me-love fest would have ensued. (or we would have strangled her
)
Camilegal-I have Cobleigh, also.
Happy Thursday everyone, hope you make the most of your day.
I'm looking forward to seeing Freud's Last Session tonight and dinner downtown.

Lago......love the avatar picture....that gorgeous smile should be able to convince anyone that there is a wonderful life just around the bend.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Lago that avatar is beautiful and so happy looking.
-
Spunky, did you find a new PS yet? I never made it to Rush but narrowing it down to Univ of Chicago since Dr. Massey doesn't work with my insurance or Nola. I need to dig deeper. Let me know where you ended up. Charleston is a possibility maybe. I'm all over these boards today because I'm off work lol.
Back to the corp pit tomorrow though -
Lago~ GREAT picture!!!
-
Good evening ladies! I finally made it back! This has been such a busy, crazy summer for us! I guess that is good, though.
Joan, So glad that you are mending. Hang in there. You are one tough Illinois gal whose been through alot recently. Hugs across the miles to you!
Everyone is right, Lago. Your avatar is really cute!
I am not caught up with the posts but wanted to stop in and say HI to all of you! I hope everyone is copinig well with their journeys and the heat.
-
Hi ladies...oh my gosh I haven't checked in on here in awhile. Summer has taken me away with concerts, boating, birthdays, etc... Oh, and work.
What a difference a year makes huh?
I hope everyone is doing great!!!! Now I need to go a long way back and catch up on everyone's comings and goings.....
I'm getting together with my June 2011 BMX group in person next weekend....and get this, they picked Chicago as our gathering city..... There's 8 of us, we vowed to get together this summer once we all recovered from surgeries and treatments....and we're keeping our word!!!
Hugs to you all.... Hey, I'm still not on the official email list for get togethers.....ever since I switched my email over, BOO!!!!!!! -
Lago: Love the avatar pic!
Madismommy Good for you! I hope you have fun with your new friends. I wish I lived a little closer!
-
I'm still reading the comings and goings....but just wanted to tell Lago I'm gonna sign up for the walk.... And my aunt too! We did the ACS "relay for life" in June....incredible!!!! I wonder if my daughter wants to do it too???
-
Thanks for all the compliments but I took the image from the Greektown photo posted a few weeks ago. Guess I look good smaller
Yay Madmom! We are a team of 8 so far. I know a few more plan to join with family/friends etc.
-
Lago....not so much smaller....but in the other picture we had a lot of gorgeous smiles to relate too, so I think no one was just picking out any one person but sure gets great when you do. The sparkle is most definite.

I have to join the choir-great pic Lago
Good to "see" you Madismommy
-
Me too Lago! That picture is just shining with happiness and the smile is infectious!
I'm planning on joining the walk. I just need to make sure I'm still in Illinois! I had an interview with a recruiter on Wed who passed my info on to a company that is in Skokie and planning on moving to Vernon Hills so if that went through then I would be here. I had a phone interview with a company that is in Madisonville Kentucky which if that goes through would be doable but maybe less probable. I just want to make sure if I commit that I'm not in San Diego and unable to show.
I had my last fill yesterday! Exchange is scheduled for Aug 22....my mom's 71st birthday! So I called her and told her I'm getting new boobs and a tummy tuck for her birthday, lol. I finally broke down and went and got a prothesis yesterday because I just stuffed polyfill in my bra for the interview on Wednesday and I was worried the whole time that the polyfill was showing and it was lumpy too. She fitted me into a 36 E bra! I am aiming for a D but I guess they overfill right before the exchange. I'm HUGE! Maybe that will be good for in person interviews as long as they are with men, lol.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Supposed to be some rain moving into the area on Saturday! I'm not in the high drought zone but things are suffering around here too! Plants are turning brown no matter how much I water them and the beans in my garden are just not doing a thing. I did pick some great yellow breakfast tomatoes (5" diameter) yesterday and had a BLT! Awesome! Nothing like a homegrown tomato!
-
Valerie I never wore a bra when I had TEs but even with the implants you will be bigger than you expected. They are wider than the real things. I know I wanted to go a little bigger. My PS said I would be a large B small C. (Used to be a barely
. I'm now a 34D!
Yes men love boobs. Never had this issue before but when I wear a low shirt their eyes are not on my face at first. Very strange for me because my pre-bc life men never noticed my chest.

Each morning is the open door to a new world - new vistas, new aims, new plans, new things... and whether one is twenty, forty, sixty or eighty; whether one has succeeded, failed or just muddled along - life begins each morning.

Lago, Guess it is a good thing that I hadn't shopped for bras before the BC thing happened LOL. I will be investing in a new bra collection after this is all through! If both had been TE's I could see going without a bra. Would have been nice this summer to not have worried about one. I had to wear bra's because with only one TE the appearance is quite comical. The old girl hangs quite a bit lower than the TE and now she is quite a bit smaller too. PS is putting a small implant in the old girl so she should pretty closely match the new girl.
Pre BC they noticed my chest but post BC it will be even much more noticeable, lol. If they only knew what it took to get that look right!

Just dropping in to say hi this morning. Wonder of wonders....we finally had a little rain late yesterday. The two previous ones were not enough to even affect the dust --- but this did fairly well. Chance today and tomorrow to get a little more.....could sure use it. It won't help the crops, but anything we can get now is going to be good for the ground.
Looking forward to the week-end. Their is a girl that only comes on Saturday.....so I can be at home and doing things. I've noted that at my age it just feels better to have two full days off in a row. As is the first day is a little laid back for me
Hope you all have a great THIF day. I'm working late shift today.....which I don't mind at all really. I at least get to start later. Always much to do here in the morning.....and part of that is my computer time.
See ya'll later.Hugs, Jackie

Valerie I had the stripper boob(s) (as did others) too (TEs). I have a short body so they really felt like they were sitting just below my neck. I work camis. BTW I bought a lot of bras at Norstrom Rack. Nice to purchases $60 for under $15. Also what's nice is I found most bras fit. The little old girls only fit into a couple of styles.
I can see one perky and one droopy would drive you crazy.
-
Good morning!
Lago- Are those big new girls making you a little slutty?
Now that all is well I'll share a little horror that I went through. My youngest dd (17) found a lump in her breast. To the doc, straight to the hospital for US, it is a cyst. Same place I had my mammo, US, biopsy and diagnosis. I had a whole body reaction to this even though logic told me that it was very likely to be fine. Horrible. Anyway, I told her it is great that she knows her boobs and told sis (19) she needs to know hers as well.
Off to have some fun camping this weekend. Thank goodness there's a pool! Have a great weekend all. Stay cool.
-
Adey~ {{sigh}}
Have a great time camping!
-
OMG Adey Thanks goodness only a cyst but to have to go through that at 17!
Ironically I wore more revealing tops before. I don't know what's slutty and what isn't with these new things. I never had to think about that before.
