Morning everyone.  We are looking at getting up to 72 degrees today and I am so thrilled.  Of course, the aftermath to all this will be a big 'honkin' storm with all the special effects through the night.  Hope it won't keep me up as tomorrow is my work day.  Have not had tons of rain yet....in fact, there is a nice sun outside now which hopefully will last most of the day.....but tonight the real water comes.  Oh it was so nice to be dry for a while.

Lots to do today, but it is like that everyday.  It is time to get serious about rounding up my spring/summer wear and getting it all washed and pressed and hung up in the closet.  I never put all the warm clothes away too soon though.  You just don't know these past couple of years what you will have and when.

Well, getting ready for breakfast so will check in with all of you later.  See you then.

    Hugs, Jackie

If I'm not working on the 15th...I would love to "crash" the southside girls get-together! lol

    -----------------------------------

Feeling better each day - THANK GAWD! lol Still quite congested though, and it's somewhat worrisome, but will give it a few more days...patience, patience, patience! Not my best virtue! Argh!

On Monday - Che' Paulie was driving me nuts! He was very bored and feeling neglected because I was still sick and not playing with him. So, I got out my shopping bag of 32 Beany Babies and let him have some fun. It was too funny...he took each one out - one by one. I wish I would have video'd him (would have made a cute youtube). Here he is with some of them - the rest of them are still scattered ALL OVER the house. Such a proud little pooch - "I'm a big boy now":

Hi Budder - Thanks. Yes...I have to admit I do let him sleep on the bed with me - he's only 6 pounds and doesn't shed AT ALL. AND, we have him bathed and groomed every 2 weeks. He definately runs the roost! lol

Oh woe is me.  I may have this thing called GOUT.  I thought only old  men  who ate brains, kidneys and livers got gout! We are not sure.  I had terrible pain in my toe yesterday.  I took Alleve and it eased a great deal.  Then today it came back again. Doctor is not sure. So of course I have researched this rather disgusting thing on the Internet and just about anything ( even ARIMIDEX) has been linked to it as  women low on estrogen get it. Mostly men get this....fat old men.  It makes me feel old and ugly.  I am  drinking gallons of water, taking vitamin C.  I hate this business of new and strange crap, and yet I know that stuff happens and it could be lots worse. OUT, DAMN GOUT!  Something to do with uric acid!

Pauli is cute!  I would let him sleep in my bed any night.

    Hi Girls,

The 15th sounds good me - thank you so much.  I am actually going to try to get Elton John tickets for that night so that would work out well - I can take a nap after lunch!!  Also, gives me a good excuse to take the next day, Friday off, also.

Susan, you poor thing, you sound so miserable, I guess all I can say is "hang in there".

    Hi ladies -

Glad to hear you are feeling better Laura.  That sounded awful.  And yes, I have seen Children of the Corn.  It was quite silly, huh?

Susan - hope your gout is better.  I never really understood what that was but my FIL gets it all the time.  Yes, he is an old man, but he is not fat.  Is it just pain in the feet?

Going to Vegas!  DH and I decided yesterday to make a quick trip there in April for our anniversary.  20 years!!  Yes, we probably should be going somewhere exotic, but we are just too busy, planned late and can't leave the kids for too many days.  I got an offer from NYNY for 2 free nights and the third night is $59.  I got another offer from MGM for $49 rooms.  They are desparate.  Hope that doesn't mean they are going to take all my money!  We are looking forward to some adult fun!

    Wasn't today beautiful!!

    Morning....drip, drip, drip...but it's not snow!!!!!!

Laura...glad you are feeling better!  What's your new job gonna be?  Did DH hear anything back on his interview?  And count me in...I have seen "corn children" more than a few times!  The book was scary tho....the books always are.

Susan....gout?  That's pretty painful but it is treatable and not just old, fat men get it!  Altho...more men than women if I remember correctly!

Marina...sorry the se's are not treating you well!  What's up?  Maybe we might have a solution for you....

Lisamed....jsut tell your boss that you are going to a 2-day Breast Cancer Symposium....that includes music as relaxation. and nutrition.  That should cover lunch AND Elton John!  wink-wink

BJ...Yes...how did your test go????  Inquiring minds need to know....

Jackie...did you reach 72?  We got up to 62 yesterday with sun and it was glorious to open windows!

Carolyn...still on for the 16th or did you get moved up?

Princess Juliet....how many left?  You should be crusing quickly toward the end....

Connie....good for you and DH for getting away!  You will have a wonderful time and it really never matters where you go, just that you go and spend it with someone you love!  Still have that S.l King book waiting for you!

Rene...funny story about bolting!  And I really can see you doing that....I am so used to paying at the table that the few times I go to a restaurant where you pay up front I either just leave it on the table (never a good idea) or just walk out the door - another bad idea!

Not much planned for today - I am actually caught up with spring cleaning and taxes were sent off to the acct. last week.  I COULD take down the drapes in the one bedroom I suppose and send tthem thru the washer.....I suppose I could....maybe.....

Greetings from lovely New Orleans! First time I've been back since Katrina, and very interesting talking to folks here. We are near the convention center, and the French Quarter, and those areas were not caught up in the flooding for the most part, so they look the same.

BJ, I hope your scan results are good. Have not been online lately, but still thinking of you.

Susan, I'm so sorry you are in pain. Don't feel badly about gout. It is just a form of arthritis, and anyone can get it. I think Henry the VIII gave it a bad name because of his excesses. We women are more likely to get it after menopause, and I've had several friend of normal weight come down with it. It was usually in the big toe, but one friend had it in her hands. One had to give up alcohol completely, and all took medication at some point. Careful of large doses of vitamin C, because that can increase uric acid levels, and lead to possible kidney stones. Good to drink the water, and maybe ask your doc if you should see a rheumatologist. You are certainly not "old and ugly."I  like to think of us as attractively mature. I just signed up for Medicare starting in May, and that's something to make you feel old! I guess I'll settle for slightly more mature than I was before. Feel better soon!

Marina, I'm sorry you are dealing with the se's. Thanks for the interesting article. My onc too, did not want supplements taken during chemo. They think that they may keep the chemo from working, especially antioxidents. Mostly for me, vitamins were irritating to my stomach, and my stomach felt bad enough from the chemo. As soon as chemo was finished I started my multivit and vitD again. Hoping you feel better very soon.

Laura, happy to hear you are feeling better. That was a nasty bug. Paulie...the cutest!

Have to get outside and do some walking around the French Quarter. Everyone have a great day!

so the worst has been the diarrhea.. I have to take at least 2 immodium a day.. then of course it causes the opposite... Then I've had more tingling in my hands and feet and worrying about neuropathy.. the Dr recommended a B6 supplement but it stopped working so they told me to double the dose.. so a bit better... Then sharp pains in lower abdomen.. but it seems to come up toward my right side.. of course that is where the liver is.. but my DH thinks it's gas from all the digestion issues.. so I eat my yogurt and hope it stops but so far not.. I've read that sometimes when you feel tingling it could mean the tx is working... but of course I'm freaking..  Then I don't feel HUGE changes in my lump and the Dr told me he'll examine me next week and if no large changes after the next 3 treatments he'll re-scan me.. so freaking on that front too...

and the hair stubble is flying out by handful.. that I can handle.. just not fun...

Sorry.. guess I had to vent after all...

Irene - Your story was too funny! OMG - thanks for the laugh.

Donna - I would love to meet with you girls. Hope you're feeling okay these days.

smerf - Is it nice and warm in LA? Be careful walking around - crime is rampant there.

Marina - Have you tried eating brown rice? That usually helps for diaharea. Hang in there.

Susan - Black Cherry juice - foods high in potassium are good for Gout. Hope it goes away soon.

    ---------------------------------------

My new job will be working as a photographers assistant and after a couple of months, I will move into a position as a photographer. It's for a company that does school portraits - sports too. I was an art director for many years and worked with many photographers, models, photo shoots, etc. So this is right up my alley so to speak. It's part time - which I LOVE! Should be fun... dh hasn't landed anything yet. A couple prospects fell through.

    --------------------------------------

I posted a photo of Paulie - so in all fairness, I thought I should post one of AriAnna (aka Typhoid Mary - lol). Her cheeks are the kind that you just cannot help but squeeze!

    Hi gals,

I just got back from having my bone density test.  They don't give out any results so I have to wait until tomorrow or Monday to hear what's been happening to my bones.

Laura.......both of your "young-ins" are adorable!

makmak........I'm hoping that your treatment is working, too.  Sometimes it is so hard to wait to see the results, isn't it?  Hang in there.  You are going through a very stressful time right now and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Susan, my ex-husband had gout.  He got it at a very early age.  After several painful attacks in both his feet and elbows, he went to a rhuemotologist who got him on a med that controled the amount of uric acid.  As far as I know, that kept it under control and I don't think it caused any side effects over the years.  I feel sorry for you because I do know how painful an attack can be!

O.K. Connie, I'm envious again!  Vegas...........one of my all time favorite places.  You will have so much fun and you just couldn't pass up those room rates!  LOL  Congrats on the 20 years!

Wendy, I'm putting new tires on the convertible tomorrow.  It won't ge long and we'll have those tops down!  I'm getting spring fever............BAD!!!!

Hi Ginny.  How's it going?  Is this the week you had your scans?

Well, I need to run into town and do a couple of errands.  Then I'm moderating an after-school scholastic bowl match this afternoon.  FUN!

    Hope everyone is doing well.

I feel silly.  I jumped too quickly on gout. I see the doctor on Tuesday to watch things as now the foot is fine.  And you are right, it is treatable whatever it is.  And not just fat men get it.  Laura Bush has gout!  The school nurse looked at it today and she said...it looks like a bunion...but it is good I am being checked out it for gout.  It is not easy being me.

Marina, I know this is tough for you.  I had such a problem  too with the diarhea.  Working is hard as you need the bathroom when you need it. I am glad you are talking one day at a time as frankly, that is the only way to get through chemo.  I wish for tomorrow to be a better day.

    Take care!

It is me again and I promise I will go away.  I may or may not have gout.  Will not know until Tuesday but I want you to know about this discovery I have made and it is all because of our Laura!

I went to get cherry juice to try and got this cherry juice extract.  No sugar, no preservatives....just concentrated cherry juice as Laura suggested as it works maybe on gout.   IT IS DELICIOUS!  Ladies, give it a try.  I believe children will even love the taste.  Cherries, like all dark berries are also great antioxidants.

    Thanks, Laura!

NAVYMOM - Hope all went well today. Feel better soon!

Marina - Not a bad idea to ask your Dr about D3 - even during chemo. My Onc, during chemo recommended a few vitamins for me. So...it doesn't hurt to ask.

    Susan - Awwwwwwwwwwww...THANKS DEAR!

    HI All!

Is this weather not glorious? I went out without my coat today! Just a short distance. I don't want to get sick in case I might be lucky enough to be finished with all these d*(^$@ tests. Excuse the language - something came over me for a brief moment. I am still scheduled for my biopsy on my 2nd lump on 3/16. Never got a call. I can't really imagine anyone cancelling their biopsy - can you? I'm beginning to lose my patience; however; whenever I feel like I can't stand it anymore, I find something to laugh about (usually unrelated to cancer) and I get back in a better mood.

I just want to move beyond this same point. I feel like I'm in the movie Groundhog Day - have the same tests, find more of the same problem just elsewhere. Face the same decision I was thinking about in January. Oh well. I know that my doctors are just being thorough.

Have a great evening - from the woman whose middle name is NOT Patience.

Arghhh! I'm still stalling in filling my Fosomax script. I don't understand how my calcium and Vit D levels are within the normal range, yet I am told I have osteoporosis.  I need more questions answered before I start taking it.

Also, had a weird thing happen the day before we were leaving for vac. I had this episode of vertigo and nausea. The pcp said it was probably a viral thing, labyrithitus (sp?). Gave me a script for the dizziness for when it occurs again. Well, it happened again while we were on vac. Lasted a couple of hours.  I will wait a couple more weeks before I start freaking! It's always something!!!

Connie-are those Vegas deals avail for anyone/anytime? congrats on your anniv.

Laura-Your Paulie is adorable, and AriAnna too!

Mich, sure hope you do get some answers for the "spells" you had.  That does not sound quite right although having just had my 'viral' flu that did not totally develop --- but I only had mild nausea once and all the rest was fatigue and deep body/muscle aches -- no dizziness etc.

Also, due to se's from any medications, I always want to know as much as I can so I can weigh that information against --- so if I don't want to take this....or take it right now, etc.  Hoping you get good answers soon.

Have to get to work....see you all later.

Oh Carolyn, this journey is not for those of us who lack in the patience category, is it?  It seems like we're always up in the air, dealing with new "situations" or waiting......waiting.......waiting.  I hope you biopsy goes as scheduled and you get some much needed answers.  Hugs to you.........

Oh.. I second the waiting.. waiting.. waiting... I am the LEAST patient person on this earth, and learning to wait is very very difficult.. but all I wonder is whether I got this for some reason.. to change me.. to make me stronger.. more patient.. learn to value certain things... Otherwise... I have to say... THIS SUCKS!!!! I go to sleep miserable and achy and I wake up the same way!!  All I can think is that it can't get worse, and then some new side effect comes along... Can't get rid of the sharp pains in my side... My DH says it's gas... I'm starting to think it's HIM...

Hopefully the little bit of sun stays with us until lunch and I can at least take a walk with the baby!!

Birds are out.. feels pretty nice... and almost the weekend!!

    Have a great day everyone!!

Hi Girls - Hope you made the most of this day. I know some of you are struggling through treatment, waiting for tests, etc., but it helps that our weather is showing signs of a new season in the near future and possibly a new beginning for some.

July will be a special month for me this year. It will mark the 5 year anniversary of my diagnosis. I shake my head in disbelief of all that has taken place in the last 5 years. Good gawd...who would have thunk! lol I share this info - to hopefully inspire those who are just beginning the journey. There is a life after treatment...hang in there!

The weekend is here...no snow storms in the forecast...hope you all have some relaxation, soak up some rays or have some fun times planned.

Just wanted to check in...have a nice evening girls!

Thanks for sharing that with us Laura..  It's a great milestone.  It reminds me that I need to be more hopeful.  Seems everything in my life is in a state of flux.....I need to see the good change (because there is some good in it) instead of immediately starting to hyperventilate.

I'm so excited that it's the weekend.  Not doing anything special but just need some sleep.

Have a wonderful evening everyone. Enjoy this great weather.
