    I wanna help !!!!!!
I crochet and would love to help make a few of these blankets....I read quite a few of the posts but am unsure who or where to send the squares once I have made them...Is there a limit on how many of these are going to be made??? I live alone and find myself lacking things to do in the evenings so would gladly spend that time helping with this wonderful project...

jpann...welcome!!! Thanks for joining us. I will pm you with my address to mail the squares to as I will be putting them together. There is no limit to the squares...make as few or as many as you like. I need 49 squares per afghan and will make as many afghans as I have squares for...5, 10, 50, 1000 afghans...I don't care.

Okay, Vicky, I understand about the round one not working. There was a pattern on the Morman website for a flat scarf made on a round knitter, but I'll take your word on the unfortunate curve it ends up with. Makes sense to me. I did actually go out yesterday and get the rectangle, but the back-and-forth threading pattern is more complicated than my eager young crew can manage (they do spool knitting and latchhook now, but are looking for a way to branch out, and hoped this worthy project might be within their range). Maybe we'll just have to make hats instead !

    Onward!

Hi Beth and all...one more thing.
Michaels has a sale on all the funky yarns right now...$1.00 a skein!!! HUGE savings as they were between 4 and 5 dollars a skein. I plan on stocking up tomorrow if I can sneak out of work at lunchtime...just what I need...more yarn LOL.

Vickie...there is no limit as to how much yarn one has. I have found there is a limit as to how much room one has to store it. The Home Depot that dh works in has the Space Bags on sale, $3 off a combo pack. It works great and you can still see what is inside. Now I need more beds to hide them under!

Binney...I think there are ways to use the rectangular knitter that doesn't involve the wrapping...let me see what I can find. It makes a different stitch and I think it might be easier...If I can find it I will send you a link.

Dang, you had to go and tell us about the Michael's sale. I will go find out how many $1 bills are in my wallet and that will be my spending limit. I think there are about 5. I will probably waste about 2 hours buying $5 of yarn...Donna in VA

LOL The closest michael's store is 150 miles away, so I thought I was safe from more yarn...then a good friend called me FROM ANCHORAGE to see if I needed anything. I took it as a sign that I must need more fun yarn...I told her to go pick out whatever she liked for me....I LOVE yarn...it's a sickness LOL

OK, OK. I have no artistic abilities whatsoever. No talent for anything to do with crafts, not to say I'm not crafty.lol But I just have to join in on these afghans. I have a sister that crochets everything so I'm gonna get her to show me how to do it. No telling what they'll look like but I'm gonna give it a whirl. Sometime soon.

Cool Cheri! Just an FYI...the rectangular knifty knitter is really easy too. Both my kids picked it up with 5 minutes of showing them. Glad to have you join us

I jsut told LauraGTO that I will be stuck at waiting for my car AGAIN to be worked on so I should get a lot more done. This time I am taking some of the different yarns to crochet together. I loved the way Deb's turned out and it would be a nice thing to try. Still haven't gotten to Michaels and there isn't one in walking distnace from the repair shop. Darn!

If you look up the word Verklempt in the dictionary you will find my picture...

    Community Afghan Circle Girls-
    HOW?
How can I ever find the words to express to you how I feel right now?
I was having a pretty bad day and did my errands and went up to the post office to collect my mail and there was a ticket in my box saying that I had a package. I had to go to the counter to claim it, and when the postman came around from the back it was so big! And he said
"It's says here it is from the Wagon Circle Girls"
Well that did it. All the emotions I have been holding in came out and I started to cry right there in the post office. I don't cry in public!!
When I got home and opened it I had another good long cry.
Girls, I do NOT deserve this.
This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen- and the little cats! They are perfect!!!
I informed Mr. Fluffy that even though he owns this house and all its contents this is MINE and it is OFF LIMITS.
The love and care that went into it has overwhelmed me.
The letter that you wrote me has left me speechless.
Girls, I am not used to this kind of thing- I am not good at it!
If my stupid tumors turn out to be furballs- I don't have to give it back do I???

    I LOVE it so much.

I don't have a digital camera, but I am going up to CVS to buy a disposable to take pictures of it so everyone can see how beautiful my afghan is and how lucky and wonderful it is to be a Circle Girl.

I love you all so very much,
    THANK YOU.

NS, enjoy it whether you have furballs or not. Don't even think about returning, that is so silly. We all need a pick-me-up once in a while. Can't wait to see the pics though. And let us know how long it took Mr. Fluffy to "share" the afghan with you...2 seconds or 2 hours? LOL Hey, he wouldn't be a real cat otherwise. Remember, dogs have people, cats have servants.

(((puppy))), better get started crocheting before NASCAR starts up. Then again, you can multi-task and watch a few little cars and make squares at the same time. How is that fire going tonight? Check out our crafting thread too. We are going to keep posting pics of finished items. Good to see you are joining the rest of us "hookers". LOL
