    LOLOL at MissShapen!

It is with great happiness that I let you know I made it home without crashing my car and exposing my secret nakedness!  I even got a load of whites done so I have clean undies.....whew!  I don't know if I could have stood the stress of going commando 2 days in a row.  All I could think of was how silly I would feel if I ripped my pants!

I think I have proven that NOTHING good can come from cleaning your closet!  I am going to go see if there is any cake in the kitchen.

If not, I know I have some dark chocolate hidden from the kids.  I put it in the bag with the dry beans....they never look there!

What the heck is an oregon Shirley?  I know the state but I'm sure you weren't talking about that and misspelled it.

More interestingly where do we hide things?  Deb puts the chocolate in with the dried beans.  I have a hollowed out book tucked in with our 1000s of books - I picked a very dull history book to carve up.  We have another space in the walls that I suspect we may both forget and which may give a thrill to the next owner.

After inviting a group of people over for gin and tonics and finding the gin gone - we started hiding  the gin in the freezer under the vegetables.  We don't bother with that anymore as the kids are old enough to buy their own gin.  It was fairly mortifying at the time - but everyone of the guests had kids of the same age group and they were sympathetic (and one ran home to get a bottle of gin).  It turned out to be a great party.

Shirley, that comment to Deb about being careful to avoid the papparazzi was just toooo funny!

Glad you made it home without incident Deb.

OK...oddly enough, I can actually tie together several things:  Where we hide things, and mildos AND it involves a drawer all in ONE true story!!!

Years ago one of my best friends and I got in this discussion about the things we hid in our bottom dresser drawer, and how freaked out our mothers would be if they ever had the occasion to have to look in them.  We made a pact that if either of us were ever to be killed in a car wreck, the other one was in charge of cleaning out that bottom dresser drawer before our mothers had to!  We joked about it for years.

So there you go.....do I get extra points for including all the recent topics?  LOL

I actually hide my chocolate in several different places.  I leave the cheep chocolate in plain sight and hide the "good stuff".  I have also been known to hide the icecream behind some frozen left-overs.  A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do....

Deb, you just continue to make me laugh my keesters right off!  I'll never to gaining weight with all the belly laughs you ladies keep me doing!  Thankfully dh wasn't home last night, or he'd have been awaken here also, Cristine!

Looks like another beautiful day here!  YEAH~

Oh, and Shirley?  Pulling weeds is THERAPY for me!  Seriously, nothing better than killing weeds with your own hands.  It's so calming, I can spend hours on my haunches....at least till I try to get up and can't, b/c my hips are locked up!  OWY!  But alas, good friend, Motrin was used yesterday to reduce the effects of said weeding and now I'm ready to tackle another day! :D  Happy gardener again!

wishiwere, Thanks!  Well... the dr. appts. cards are usually stacked in the kitchen, and when I put them on the counter, I also write the appts. on my calendar.  That was only ONE of the pieces of crap that I have stacked around the house lately.  I was always messy before bc, but now.... forget about it!

Shirley, I will tell you that I cleaned out that stack of crap this morning.  I feel SO  MUCH better now!  But, I have to confess.... I threw some of it in my nightside table drawer, to go through later.  Am I bad, or what??

No, not Bad, just normal. The others who actually get rid of the stuff or are organized, aren't really good, they are Compulsive! :D  We are just not compulsive with the junk in our lives is all :)

Have fun with your company!  Maybe you can meet her at the curb with a tall, spiked lemonade.  That way when she comes in, she won't even notice the mess! :D

    Enjoy your time with family!

    wishiwere,

She IS going to be drinking melon balls after she arrives, and she should be here soon!

    Thanks for the warm wishes.

Well, I better go check the bathroom, and make sure it looks presentable.  Nothing like leaving a dirty toilet or some soap scum all over the sink and bathtub!!

I wonder if I kept the house clean ALL the time, would it be as much of an effort to clean up when we are expecting company??

    Hi Ladies,

I think that there is one point in Deb's underwear story that we should remember for future reference, and that is to ALWAYS take your purse to the bathroom with you in case there is any piece of clothing that you would like to remove when at work or anywhere in public, other items could be a bra, pantyhose, top that is tooo tight under a jacket, cami top under blouse that just does not feel right. The list can go on and on .

Also took most of my little notes that are written to self and started to write them all out on one big paper. It is a start. Had to call the BOSS today and told her that I would start back to work on Tuesday. Don't know how I am going to do it. But will just have to. Place will get more messy and disorganized with me at work. Oh Well.!!! It is only until next surgery which is June 6 now if my Hg is high enough. Boy, I should be on the moan and groan thread!!!

    Hi all,

I love this thread. I'm right there with all of you on the mess. My house is actually dusted and "picked up" for the moment as "my" parents came to keep my kids last weekend so I paid my son to dust for me. Now I'm broke but the house is dusted. We stacked stuff in boxes and put them in the back of the truck while the parents were here. Unfortunately, now, I have the boxes back in the house stacked up and no energy to go through them or put the stuff back where it came from originally.  Should just throw it in the dumpster, but that would involve work and I'm not ready for that. Oh well! To a messy house forever! NOT! My goals in life are to beat bc and have a clean house!

Deb, loved the underwear story. Glad you drove carefully and got home without anyone finding out your secret.

    Hugs to all,

    Wink

Yes, Harley, I tried that experiment once.  It was easier.....although for those whole 2 weeks, NO one came to stay :(  Wouldn't you just know it? :D

Kerry!  Hope you get that Hg up lady!  It will do wonders for at the least, staying awake during the morning meetings.  That is IF they hold within the first hour you arrive! :D  Getting rid of naps can be a pain.  Didn't like it when I 4, and don't like the thought of it now.  Of course now, I don't sleep at night, so napping is Soooooooo much more of a need! :D  What surgery are you having in june?  SOrry, there are just to many surgeries on way too many breasts and way too many women on here to keep track of everyone! Good thing that's NOT my job! :)

Harley, start a filing system...get a filing cabinet. LOL

My cell phone has you programmed.  I have your phone #s in my personal phone book which is about to fall apart.  I need a new one.  You need a pocket calendar for appointments.  I keep one in my purse so I can check my schedule before making appointments..I'm sooooo busy..LOL  Also, I have one hanging in the kitchen.  Dh bought a "Maxine" one for me.  I love Maxine!  Let me go back up and read what else you need to organize since I'm the GREAT organizer....LOLOLOLOL  For b'day cards get one of those books that has b'day dates and a pocket where you can put b'day cards.  It has each month in it..really neat...I got mine from Hallmark...BUT I DON'T USE IT.  I don't want to get it dirty.  LOL

Okay, I won't say, "get your act together, and clean up that mess!"

I can't say that because I need to get my own act together!

Kelly, I haven't given away any of the cake.  I tried a small piece and I didn't think it was as good as when I made it last time.  And the icing...I forgot how to make my regular chocolate fudge frosting.  Now I remember!  So, I'll probably take the yucky cake to my dds (we're leaving tomorrow for Charlotte and will be back Monday and NO this is not the dd that wore the thingy around her neck) or I'll freeze it.

Sure, Sue.  Send me a picture of that thing.  I won't get embarrassed.  I'm too old for that!

Harley, I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't seen on of those things.  Condoms?  What's Condoms?  Back in my 20's is when I had my three daughters.  Then, dh got FIXED!

Deb, so good to hear you got home safely.  At least no one had to lie about why you weren't wearing undies.  And, I love your hiding places for the good stuff.  I don't have any kids around.  I need to hide the stuff from myself!

Mke, Oregon...it rhyms with 0$%AN. Smile

Deb, you're giving away secrets that are no longer secrets.  Laughing  We have some big mouths around here!

Wishiwere, pulling weeds is not therapy.  It's torture.  I got mad at my dh (can't remember why..been a long time ago), and I started taking out all the bushes in the front of our house.  They had roots!  So, I got out his shears (I think that's what you call them) and started cutting and twising those suckers to get them out of the ground.  In the mean time I bent his shears...HAHAHA!  Served him right.  Then, another time I got mad at him and started pulling weeds in the now new bushes that are doing terribly (will be pulling some of those up soon).  On one side the bushes had not been trimmed and were still very small.  Well, they had strands of untrimmed limbs, thingies, whatever you call it, all over the ground.  Looked like weeds.  I was soooooo mad at him.  When I really get mad it used to motivate me...but not since bc.

Kerry, what a shame that you have to go back to work!  Quit!

Wink, one time we put a bunch of stuff in the car that no longer runs that's sitting in our driveway..dh paying insurance on it..that's another old story.  Then I had to take the crap out of there.  But, at least it was a free storage space (except for the insurance on it).

I bettter get my can off of here.  Need to wash a couple of loads and pack all the crap I need to take out of town.  I don't know about you all, but it's hell packing for a weekend.  Way too much stuff for a woman to take.

Have fun getting your acts together.

    Shirley,

I agree... When I went away last weekend, I had to take EVERYTHING, except, since my hair is so short now, I didn't have to take a blow dryer... YAY!

Good luck with the packing!!  Hope you have a wonderful visit with your dd...the one who DIDN'T wear the "youknowwhat" around her neck!!

    Harley

P.S.  I don't know much about those things, either...

Shirley.  The secret to packing is to take the minimum and just repeat after me.....to your dh of course, "If I've forgotten anything, we'll just buy it there!'  :D  I swear to you, since I've taken that attitude when packing, I've never missed anything I needed and packed about 1/3 less than normal.  Small suitcase with a small bag and that's it now!  Feels great! And of course, less to UNPACK after you get back! :D

OMG have you seen the commercial for that Roomba vacuum thing? It shows a woman in her house, her two little piggy children are running around and they're actually little pigs. Then it shows her husband and he's a jackass. It cracks me up!

Wonder if those things really work. . .anyone have one?

Deb, glad you ditched those undies and your secret stayed safe in your purse! One thing about going comando though......don't you get camel toe?? Could be worse than a wedgie!

Well I've managed to fill a couple trash bags of old clothes that made it out the door........but bigger newer stuff is filling in the space fast!

Worst piece of clothing to replace....a bathing suit! How do ya find anything these days that don't make you look like a sausage all squeezed in.......agghhhh.......not an easy find for an almost fifty one boob body.

Shirley.....I give up on packing light......whatever made it out of the closets and crawl space is now becoming a mountain to haul to the cottage.....so much for decluttering, it just follows me to the next place!

Sheila,   No, I have not seen that commercial for the Roomba vacuum. I keep seeing the one for the chocolate sunday in the waffle bowl. I think that I will have one of those before the diet starts. Had to buy myself 3 pairs of dress shorts and 1 pair of dress pants to go back to work. The 14 lb weight gain has me up one size. DRAG!!!!!

Shirley, Yes going back to work SUCKS!!!! I should just QUIT!!!! But I need to win the lottery first. My BOSS was very excited that I was coming back to work, she is a woman, not a man(that would be different if my male BOSS was excited about me coming back to work) That must mean that their is LOTS of work.  Say HI to DD from the "get it together thread" and tell her that the other DD was the topic of a very long conversation and her bachlorette party and it kept us amused for 2 days at least.

Wishiwere,  I am going for my tissue expander exchange surgery on June 6/08 if my Hg is high enough. And then after that I am scheduled for a uterine ablation on July 10/08. Have trouble with very LONG periods due to being perimenopausal. The Dr. said this will wipe out my periods for 2-5 years. So, it is the summer of surgery. That SUCKS!!!!That will make 4 surgeries in less than a year. And I used to be a healthy person. I turned 50 last year and literally I fell apart physically.

Do have a confession to make. I have 2 cleaning ladies who come and clean my house every 2nd Thursday. Hired them after my bilat mast. They are too funny. Michelle and Lizzy. Michelle is fast and Lizzy is slow. So Michelle is always telling Lizzy to get a move on and pick up the pace. Meanwhile Lizzy is talking to me about Karoke that she goes to every Wednesday and Friday nights. Honestly, if you saw this women at a Karoke bar it would be just a SCENE!!!!LOL LOL LOL

But my house still gets so messy. Papers, I am always moving them around but none ever get put away. Oh Well. There is always tomorrow..Oh, but tomorrow I am going for a pedicure (for back to work) and then I have to go to the YMCA pool to supervise a grade 3 school trip swimming lesson class. Won't that be FUN!!!

Wishiwere,   Are you in Michigan? You probably get the same weather as where I am. Winter was just awful. I thought that March would never end. I was out all day, pedicure and manicure this am for going back to work UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! Then off to the ymca to supervise a grade 3 swimming class, then a drive to go and see the house that I grew up in. I think the people living there have moved out as the place looks empty. Will have to approach the new owners and ask if I can go through it with my daughter. She would love to see it. Then to school to pick up the little one, then took a drive down to the lake to see what it looked like. Just a marvelous day being outside. Thought that I would do all that before I go back to work. Hope Shirley made it to the DD's house O.K. My house looks like a BOMB went off. So DD and I will order pizza for dinner tonight and try and put some stuff away. No drawer cleaning though. Will have to leave that for another day. Still need the BIG undies as I am up 1 complete size from last year. Think that I will have a glass of wine also. After I tidy up though. Have a good weekend ladies.

CAMEL TOE?? Can someone explain that??

I worked Thursday and today, and will work Monday thru Wednesday before my 2nd tx on Thursday....it was actually great to be back at work.  Like all of us, I got yanked out of my real life into bc world about seven weeks ago, and it was REALLY nice to be the me I am at work, know what I mean?  And I am surprisingly okay with the buzz cut, which is now falling out.

Kerry, you sound like me--the day before I went back to work I was outside all day, walked three miles, took the dogs to the park, weather was beautiful, it was like, one more day of recess!!!  My house is cluttered as well, but I feel great--which is more important?

    Have a great weekend!!!!

Yeah, I didn't used to know what that meant either till I googled it.  Kinda felt better ignorant about that.

When a woman's pants are too tight and the pull at the crotch, causing what appears to be camel toes; men can do it, too.

NOT a pretty sight or thought.

gotta begin thinking of daiseys or something now.

I have a Roomba. It works really good, but I have two issues with it.

    1. It gets stuck under my bed and my hopeless chest. I have to crawl around on the floor trying to rescue it.

    2. It takes me quite a while to sit and pull the dog hair out of the brush. It gets all wrapped around the edges of it and requires WORK to free it.

I will say that it cleans better than my Hoover or my Bissell. If you don't have furniture that is the wrong height, you'd probably love it!

Hi: I'm not quite post treatment yet, but close. It has been very interesting to read about your thoughts and feelings. First, about depression and antidepressants. I have suffered from chronic depression all my life. I have had considerable amounts of talking therapy and have taken antidepressants for the last ten years. My life would be very different if I hadn't admitted my depression and dealt with it. Regardless of the cause, depression is a very real state of being that makes everything hard. There is no shame in depression. The most important thing is to do something about it and face it! It can be temporary, intermittant or chronic. In all cases it is dangerous. The things that have worked for me: therapy, antidepressants, exercise, admitting depression, any action no matter how small that moves beyond my desire to climb under the bed and stay there. Exercise especially helps. I don't think dealing with depression is any different than dealing with breast cancer, you get a diagnosis, you chose a treatment plan and you follow it. I'll bet you anything you will feel better. I am talking from years of experience. Here's a toast to each of our happiness. Thanks for all your honesty and bravery.

    Juliajo,

Thanks for saying all that.  It's all true.  I also find that I feel magically better when I exercise.  I walk, outside even in the rain, and it somehow opens up my spirit and makes the bad feelings lift just that little bit.

You too are brave and honest.

    Thanks.
