LOLOLOL SHIRLEY!!!!! That granny clip is hilarious!!! Dang nabit!!
-
Shirley that was hysterical! The amazing thing is - how my teany-tiny AA cup boobs started to look like that Grannies immediately after I went through menopause! It's was so strange to see how quickly my body changed when deprived of estrogen......my skin started to "stick" together when I pinched it, my neck started to sag, my tummy (which was always firm and tight) started to bulge downward, and last but not least my boobs started to hang low. What still amazes me is how a woman's body can stay relatively the same for years and years, then change in just a year!
ANYWAY - thanks for the laugh Shirley! I needed that!

-
Wow, I miss a couple of days and this thread moves from everyone talking about cake to discussing our saggy boobs. Gotta love our randomness.
Shirley - Thanks for the link. That was too funny.
Well I've only got one saggy boob left now and until I get it fixed I'm forced to use an enhancer in my bra to make it match the new one. I never dreamed I'd be stuffing my bra at 51. The best part is I'm borrowing the enhancer from my daughter. She's small chested and we've used the boobs in a box to help fill in prom dresses. . .we've always had lots of laughs with them. . .never guessed I'd need them and I don't even get to wear a prom dress. . .
-
Sam
Gee, I'm having the exact opposite with my daughter. She is small breasted like me too but I only have one now and have had to put a claim on my falsies as she now wants to use them! Next thing you know I'll have to wear my proth 24/7 so it doesn't go missing!
-
Ah, yet another advantage of having only sons. I get to keep my falsies to myself. Or if I don't, I'll start a new topic.
-
That granny dance was hysterical, thanks, Shirley!
I can't stop laughing at mke's comment above either.
-
OMG, mke let's hope we don't have to go there. . .LOL
-
Oops! I clicked the granny link at work last night. LOL Who knew my volume was turned up so high???
Miss S
-
LOL. Computers can really burn you at work. I keep a pair of headsets plugged into mine now as I've been embarrassed like that, too, Miss S.
-
Absolutely I felt the same way. In some ways I was more frightened then ever. To be done treatment and doing nothing but Arimidex worried me. It gradually lifted until after 3 years the weight is gone. Even though I have the BRCA2 gene mutation I do not worry. I cannot believe I would ever feel this way again.
A book that helped me the early days past treatment is this:
It is written by a social worker married to an oncologist who had breast cancer. So, she really knows.
Please know what you are feeling is perfectly normal.

OK....confession time. I have a walk in closet that I can't walk in! Well....I can walk over the pile of clothing that is on the floor and kind of lean in to the drawers.....which will not shut and are just piled with things. I have to do something about it. I have been wearing the same 10 outfits that were close to the top of the pile for weeks....The worst thing is that I bet half of the stuff in there is either too small or so out of date that I will never wear it again anyway, but somehow I have not got the energy to clean it out.
Anyone want to come up and clean my closet? I'll bake for you! And you might get to see the stupid bear that ate my chickens.....It's like mutual of omaha's wild kingdom around here....

Thank you for the reading suggestion, Candyce. I'll check it out.
Deb, please post a pic of your disgusting closet for our enjoyment. I have one too. You show me yours and I'll show you mine. I bet mine is worse. I'm at work and won't be able to post a pic until tomorrow. I might add that my dresser drawers are filled with stuff that doesn't fit me, but I'm too "off" to clean it out..so my clean, kinda wearable stuff stays in laundry baskets or on top of the washer, dryer and folding table. It's obscene, I tell you.
p.s. If I had time off, I'd come clean yours out...I don't mind cleaning other people's stuff. I could go for some brownies, if you got 'em.
-
Closets! Let's not talk about CLOSETS!
I think my dh has finally given up on me. I cleaned it out about a year ago, but held on to some stuff...when I lose weight I can wear this....NOT! So, my plan is to do it again...SOMETIME!!
Drawers! Don't want to go there either. I cleaned out my drawer when I cleaned out my closet. The problem is I have other drawers that could be useful that have junk in them. Need to clean out more than ONE or two drawers. One day.....
Deb, I'll be over in a little while.

-
Okay then! Here's what I think! We need to start a club! The dirty secrets club or some such thing! Then we need to set a date when we'll all grab a closet and just DO IT! And I don't mean DO it, but CLEAN IT! Then next date, we do ONE drawer and then the next, till our dh and SO just drop over from faint or fright or what ever!

I know we can do it we all put our minds (or at least what part of our minds are still functioning together and work at like a club! What do you say ladies? Shall we challenge one another to become uh.....what's the word? ORGANIZED!? Oh MY! No, that doesn't fit, b/c those people continue it. I'm just thinking maybe let's cluterrized!
ANY TAKERS ON A DATE? DARE YOU EACH AND EVERY ONE!

Hi Ladies,
Deb's walk in closet is like my laundry room. My pile of clean laundry that needs to be folded has turned into a mountain. Looking for 1 pair of matching socks takes as much time as folding the whole mountain and the clothes at the top of the mountain are the ones that get picked to be worn that day. Must be bad because DH said that this afternoon we could have a glass of wine and fold laundry together, (what a great way to bond). I would rather just have the wine!!! I am working on the toy closet in the living room. What a junk mountain. Little daughter says to me "I am going to have a yard sale and sell all my toys and make some money. Really Mother, how many toys do you think this house can hold?" Only 8 years old!!! Do you believe that? Anyway, she is developing a good business sense if she wants to sell her toys and make some money. She'll be a millionaire before I know it. Donaldette Trump!!! OMG!! I need that glass of wine!!!

Shirley: At least you've made attempts. My hat is off to you.
WishIWere: I'll join the club, but I must warn you, I may end up being noncompliant, but I'm sure willing to try!
Kerry: Your little girl sounds like a gem. I have a laundry room like yours. The only rooms in my house right now that look fine are the living room and....hmmmm. the living room. well, the kitchen isn't bad, but it could be better.
-
My kitchen i clean, but only becasue my mom came and cleaned it while I was on chemo. I think she was afraid the germs would kill me since my white count is down.
-
I'll join the club too, but can we start with a drawer - any closet in this house is just too daunting.
-
Ladies,
I also saw a headline in one of the magazines at the drugstore and it said that "Housework can burn calories and help you keep off the pounds" That is great, maybe it can help me shed my 14lbs that I have gained while sitting around and being off of work. But I don't want to clean my closet out because my clothes go all the way from size 8 up to and including size 16. Seriously!!!!! OMG!!!! So I want to be able to look good no matter what size I am. You never know when I may meet my next husband!!! He may be around the corner at any moment. Sure that my present husband would not like to hear me talking like that.!!!! Oh Well, Gotta laugh or else I think that I would cry. I'm sure if little daughter knew about my closet she would say"Mother, how many clothes do you think that this closet can hold?" My kitchen, OMG, a drop off zone for all the papers in the world, bills, school papers, little notes that I write Dr. appts on, you name it. I love those little piles. I tell my DH" don't touch any of my papers," because he will mess them all up and I know exactly what everyone of them are all about. Must get back to the toy closet and loose some pounds at the same time.

I can't commit to ANYTHING right now! Why? Cause I don't want to.
At least I feel somewhat better knowing I'm not the only one that needs to clean my closet, drawers, cabinets, cabinets, cabinets..HOUSE! And let's not talk about the garage! DH will help with that if I get my butt up. Or, if he gets his butt up.
Let me tell you something, girls. When I do get into the mood, I can throw out stuff or put stuff in a box to give to charity. But, it took a year to get the piled boxes that were in the hall upstairs TO THE charity. LOL And, DH did that.
Now, I need to clean my kitchen because Deb's mom didn't have time to come over today.

Deb, I would love to come clean your closet! You wouldn't even need to bake. I love to bake also, and I'd even bake for YOU. All we'd need is a plane ticket to get me there. I'd love to meet you in person and see Alaska. More important, I think you deserve a tidy closet that gives you a smile instead of a groan, and I don't think your closet deserves the amount of precious energy it would take to get there.
Dang, if we're going to start a club, I think it should be for airplane tickets. Once again, I want to say, I see a focus on dreary crap! Yes, a clean closet is worth having, and it's worth the effort to acheive one, but slogging through it is dreary crap. It's like chugging up a giant hill in granny gear. What we need is corvette in the fast lane to get us where we want to go, with a bc sister doing the driving. Now that's what we need! I get dibs on the first plane ticket! Ok, now, who's gonna get me from south Texas to Alaska?

-
Hmmmm. I was reading about people who give their airmiles to others. We are worthy causes. Maybe we can get someone to donate their airmiles so we can all go and clean Deb's closets. Preferably in July.
-
gsg, Thanks, yes the little daughter is a gem. They are too funny at that age. Never did finish the toy closet. The little darling came home from school and announced that she was going to catch frogs in the pond in the back yard with her net. So, I thought that was more fun to do and the toy closet and folding laundry mountain can wait for another day.

HEY...let's ask Ellen! She is always sending people on trips. MAybe whe will send you all here and we can sit around and watch a pro clean my closet!!! Sounds like a plan to me.....anyone have some pull with the Ellen show? LOLOL
Deb C

Wouldn't that be a gas! First time in Alaska, first time on National TV and we'd be all sitting around, eating and watching someone clean your closets! I'm up for it! Someone put the call in and just let me know where to be to catch that jet!
I think we need to decide on a date to start on our messes. Let's say a bedroom drawer (each decides which one for herself) and start...........Monday say we say? One drawer by Noon! Everyone up for it? ONE DRAWER! Monday by Noon! Who's in? We've got 14" deep drawers under our king bed and they badly need to done! I've done the closets 3 years ago..........yes, it's been that long
So I've got a drawer that's about 40" wide, 20" deep and 14" tall! I'm going under girls!
-
I'll try to sort through my underwear drawer by noon monday! This will involve trying to find my underwear that currently fits, which is scattered in laundry baskets around the house and throwing out what's in my drawer that hasn't fit me since prior to diagnosis. It's a tangled up mess in there.
-
My sock drawer, by noon on Monday. It might be time to accept that I will never be able to pair up some socks - the mates are off to sock heaven.
-
OK....underwear drawer by Monday at noon....
I may need chocolate reinforcements to handle the stress!
Deb C
-
A junk drawer in one of our dressers. Oh, that will be hard. Some old photos and other stuff. I'll be there forever and will not know what to do with it. I'll need a reminder for sure cuz Monday's three days away.
-
Okay ladies! Here's what I'll be doing, difficult this past 6 months to garner the carrying needed but....... I'LL MAKE MY BED FIRST!
Yes, I'm going to make the bed (comforter is easy), and then dump the entire contents on it so I have to deal with it then!
My drawer is FULL of towels, sheet's and old flannels bottoms from my last surgeries 3 years ago. and I think some old memorabalia's from childhood I had no where to put when mother gave them to me 2 years ago from home! UGH! So, I've a combo. Thing is, many of those towels I've never used (they were bought for when there is company and I needed extras, but duh............. I forget to get them out and use them! Large and small ones. There are sheets from the girls childhood I was saving for their own kiddies. Cute ones and one of the sets are gone to the granddaughter, but the others' are here. Anything NOT fitting our king or the Murphy bed will go to the garden shed for covering when we have frost advisories! There! My mind is around it, now I have to remember what day Monday is!
